Hey Alex, What a day you had there, beautiful fish, Up on the mercer river this week near Yosemite natl, park. lots of rainbrows : )). thanks for another trip !! cheers
Loved how you alternate between the ladies and gents of the river, calmly swimming away and at the end you left the future pair to do their thing, for much more fishing videos 🥰🎣👌🏻
I like that ethical fishing is more important to you than the content grind or catching the last fish you saw before the season closed. Keeps me coming back after each video drops!
Dude you are a classy fisherman! Awesome to see you leave the pair alone and just video them. Spawning season when it's that cold. Hopefully they will bring 100s of more big fish to fish for in 4 yrs. Well done.
Hey brother man. Florida fisherman here. Great quality video and spectacular fishing. Those browns are some beauties. Enjoyed the serenity of your video and you gained a subscriber. REALLY cool what you did at the end. A lesson for us all. You’re a good dude-
Another classic vid Alex, brings back such fantastic memories of the place. hard to describe the feeling of such a place. thanks so much for allowing me to share it. So look forward to the next adventure. Browns, just the epitome of our sport.
What spectacular fish... especially your fish of the day. Another great video. Glad you left that pair alone toward the end. Hope it encourages others to do the same if they were not already aware. Thanks for posting.
Def the best one yet every fish better than the last what a place and these two monsters cruising around just brilliant you deserve a break now Just chill now mate look forward to the next episode
We all have a special place we love to fish. Yours is awesome. Not many would pass on those last two, but your ethics are superb. As you said, you had already caught some great fish that day.
Maaate..dem taraute you fish fer'..make the ones i get look like 'sardine's' - gorra revise n refink me methods nec' time 'rournd.. your vid's n others are inspirational.."CHOICE" 1..Like the footage n the scenery..thnx man.. happy fishin' all 'way'round..Kia ora🤙👍 Kia ora
Thanks bro, hopefully they get it on and make babies!! I just went on the @wildernessbound podcast which was a lot of fun but don’t seem to have enough time to do my own….maybe over winter as things slow down a bit..?!
Wow dude, what a spot, such a cool wee river. Yes the fish should be priority one of any angler, regardless of time of year but essentially while spawning. Thanks for spreading meaningful messages to aspiring fans.
REALLY AWESOME VIDEO ALEX...VERY MUCH RESPECT YOUR ABILITY TO CONSISTENTLY CATCH FISH TIME AND TIME AGAIN....REALLY LLLLOVED WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT NOT WANTING TO FISH TO THAT MARRIED COUPLE IN THE WATER THAT WERE PROBABLY WORKING ON DOING ZHERE BUSINESS AND MAKING ZA BABIEZZ YAH...DAN
Went out tonight and got 7 wild browns. 2 of them around 3lb mark. Which is ok for small river in Yorkshire. But you have some beautiful fish over there.
I really like the way you use the rod and reel to play the fish properly, it annoys me watching a fishing show were they just haul there fish in by hand. Great watching 👀👌👍
Aww m8 as a wild brown fisherman myself that was just an awesome watch 👌😉 from the scenery to those beautiful big Ol browns the biggest I've ever caught was between 3/4 lbs on an 5ft 6 ultralight rod I reckon I'd shit myself if I hooked into any of those you caught 😱 I'm hoping to get out this weekend as it will be season over over here in Scotland. Take it easy n tight lines ✌💙👍👤
Love the videos try and watch one every day and who do you get your flies from or do you Tie your own. Wish I could dig those kinds of waters man looks amazing and your a beast brother keep it up
I'm not sure how you can see the fly at such a long distance. Are you basically seeing the fish taking it? Or maybe you're watching the line as an indicator.
i cannot believe the size of those browns. I commend you on your casting ability and how you lay out your flys so they land so lightly. I've noticed that most trout fishing is casting to fish you have seen and the fly is put into his feeding lane..of supposed to! are there any rivers where you fish the water, casting into places where you know the trout will be holding if not visible. Most flyfishing here in the states you fish the water,,,casting to an individual trout is kind of rare..places like the San Juan in NM is one where you can sight fish..
Beautiful big Brown's Alex, what an awesome site, you need to give that other rod a name still. As ive said previously Oscar from orvis, get on it fella😉👍
Great videography; thank you for the red arrow; wish more peeps would do that as it’s hard to se the fly on UA-cam and never sure exactly which patch of water am supposed to be watching PS do you have a second person on camera or are you setting up a camera on tripod? Great editing and subtle use of music. Seriously good shit.
Great vid just watched it with my Grandson he loved it as well, he said poppy can we go catch a fish like that, he ks 2 so yes mate when your a little older we can try for a fish like that.
All credit to you Alex, pulling back that PTN to check you'd db'd. This is part of the reason why, our waters in Scotland are dwindling. Far too many ripping giant grappling hooks through these waters. My respect to you buddy.
Thanks for the kind words mate, much appreciated 💪 Just small things like crushing your barbs can make such a huge difference to the impact we have on the fish aye, it bothers me that so many people just won’t do it!!
Hi Alex, loved this video, some very cool stuff, great fish and your call to just watch nature do its thing with the last two fish great call and advice. In self isolation so have been trolling through your videos. On a separate note where do you do most of your guiding? Cheers Mike
Are there any trouts below 50 cm in the NZ? :D Seems to me they are born that way down there. Insane place, can't wait to get there one day. I love your vids.
@@TrippinOnTrout By the way, another question that has been in my mind: after watching the videos of yours, I've noticed that many if not all of the fish are caught from relatively slow current. Do you ever come across bigger fish in rapids/white water sections in NZ? Big fish usually like deep pools, but it's not uncommon to catch big trout in the middle of foams of rapids in Finland.
And thanks for your thoughtful attitude towards letting them spawn.
You’re a legend Alex.
Another GREAT Video Alex. I really appreciate your appreciation and respect for the trout you catch! And, the ones you let get away for another day. 👍
Thanks man, I’m glad you enjoyed this one.
So important to keep in mind that there’s so much more than just catching those fish aye
Another crazy day in paradise! Fantastic observation and very cool to leave those fish alone at the end - that’s a great lesson.
Gotta look after a place like that 🤙
Man. Working through your backlist and found this gem. Some real monsters in that creek - I can totally see why you’re so fond of it. Just beautiful.
So good Alex.
That certainly is a spectacular bit of river.
Yeah it’s very special there
Hey Alex, What a day you had there, beautiful fish, Up on the mercer river this week near Yosemite natl, park. lots of rainbrows : )). thanks for another trip !! cheers

Nice one Denise, thanks for checking in👍
"I've moved myself upstream after fishing to a rock for a couple of minutes" good to see it's not just me who does that LMAO
Love that you picked up on that mate😆
@@TrippinOnTrout had a giggle, epic video too. Forgot to mention that 😂
Ur comment at the end was the best part of the video. Love you care about fish.... Cheers.
I like that ethical fishing is more important to you than the content grind or catching the last fish you saw before the season closed. Keeps me coming back after each video drops!

Another great video - and awesome to plant that seed of not having to smash every fish you see. Hopefully that multiplies too.
I hope so too bro🤙
Great fish in smaller water! Nicely done, Alex! And I love that you get fish on the reel as soon as possible--so important for fighting bigger fish.
