Just plain awesome. Thanks so much for doing this NZ series. Amazing fishing, but I think it’s your authenticity that really makes it special. Safe travels!
You two are my new favorite flyfishing channel! Great shots of dry takes, which are lacking in the most high budget channels. I also really appreciate the candid & tactical style of your content. There are way too many pretentious flyfishing videos, but that's not you. Keep it up! 👏🤩
@abucad8687 I agree with a lot of what you're saying in that comment. Great choice of words. Particularly the word pretentious. There's a few of them around. A good family friend of mine likes to call them UA-cam heros. What I enjoy about these guys in there content is what you see is what you get. Because we don't always have good days in fly fishing.
@HighcountryFlylife Thanks👍. Ya, part of the fun of fishing is that there are so many countless variables that change daily, sometimes hourly. So when someone acts like they know EXACTLY what they're doing, it comes across as inauthentic. We're all just trying to solve a puzzle in flux, and sometimes we fail. Seeing other anglers trying to figure it out is more genuine and fun to watch🙂
@abucad8687 I couldn't agree more. I've seen a lot of films from certain channels which I shall not name where it's like every cast turns to gold and you don't see them miss a strike or it seems they are catching fish every 5 minutes. You miss all the lead up work. The eb and flow of the whole experience. I think for some they must want to have there ego stroked a little but like you said it's not realistic in some cases when you see those types of films.
Great stuff guy's. What a mistery that will remain, the what ifs will linger of how big that fish was but thats fishing. The hunger will drive you for more. Great content..
Another great video. Love those monster trout. We have the same boots. I am on the South Island fishing in the Nelson area but heading to Christchurch next week. Any suggestions on rivers to fish? Like this one? Looking forward to the next video.
I fished a river known for sea runs in early March and was thinking some fish were in already. I lost a fish I was sure was 6 kg on a dry fly 😢but did land a couple of 3 kg and one of 4.5. They all acted like resident fish though … appearance was a bit different- less colours
By best thing to do in the morning - coffe & your clip. But noticed one weird thing (in my opinion) why do you carry those big bottles of water? You have full river of pristine drinking water :) tight lines!
Thanks a lot, that’s so nice to hear! Haha, yeah it’s a good question. When there are cattle in the river we just have the habit of boiling the water, both here and back in Norway. Just to be on the safe side. Sucks to get fishing days ruined because of off stomach. Thanks!
Hopefully as soon as possible ☺️ We’ve been stuck with work after we got back from traveling but we’re trying to make time to get back to editing again!
@@slowrisemedia so did i , after 8 mnth of coast fishing the fell apart - i can share a picture of em..i kept em in my garage just to remind me of the waste of money but the Comfort they brought cause they where awesome to hike in..
Honestly, I wasn’t tired of fishing, just frustrated by losing so many fish in such a short time! It felt like I was failing at both casting and landing fish. But I quickly got over it 😁

Well, thank a lot for taking the time to write down such a nice feedback! And yes, the fishing was truly incredible!
Loving your videos, great footage, great fish, thanks for sharing, Cheers Mike

Love your dedication in chasing kiwi fish hope you come back again nice to see possibilities in the sth island.

Thanks a lot!! Yes that fish will forever be remembered as the fish we never caught. Together with the one Tuva lost…
@@slowrisemedia I look forward to seeing some footage from Norway
@@HighcountryFlylife and we look so much forward to show you guys!
Congrats! That river has produced my largest brown and rainbow as well. It never disappoints
Thanks a lot! Yeah what an incredible experience! Incredible river system!
Awesome movie as always.
Thanks a lot! We appreciate the support!
I really like the last action ! 😉 Looking forward for the next episode !
Haha, thanks! Tuva did a great job as speaker on that one! We will discuss internally if she can do that on all situations and Vebjorn fish!
The big fish you did catch had such full shoulders. Great video!
Yeah that was crazy shoulders! Wait until you see the next one!
Huge trout. I look forward to watching your “Norwegian episodes “😊
Thanks! It’s so cool that many of you are interested in seeing the Norwegian fishing! We look so much forward to showing it!
Just superb joy to watch💯🔥
Thanks for the nice comment! ☺️
I need a new episode, not jokin I need my fix :D , fantastic series keep up the good work
So glad to hear! We’ve been busy with our jobs now that we’re done traveling, but we’ll try to get back on track as soon as possible ☺️
Beautiful trout!
We agree!
Great stuff.
Thanks a lot!

Have you guys booked your next trip back here yet?
Haha, not yet! But we are eager to show you guys how good Norway can be too ☺️
@@slowrisemediaI'm really looking forward to seeing some of that!
Come back for a mouse year down in the south island :)
Awesome episode again. Any chance it was a Sea-Run brown? Sure looking forward to seeing videos from Norway. You’ve done so well in NZ
Thanks a lot! To be honest I wouldn’t be if it’s a sea run one, could very well be. Do you know when they start to migrate up the rivers?

Wow, awesome
Thanks!
Where is episode 14?
Unfortunately we’ve been super busy with new jobs after we got back from our trip! But we’ll see if we can get some editing done soon:)
Missin the videos!
Have you two been to Twizel Canals in Twizel-South Island! Check it out!
No! Or actually we tried a little straight after we landed in New Zealand but with limited success! Looks amazing tho! Must be next trip!

This makes me miss the South Island but I gess the north holds its own
Wish we could go to north island too someday. SI is truly amazing tho!
@@slowrisemedia heck yeah man so beautiful
Waikaremoana has some Beauties
if talking about boots - i tried em all - simms g4 is what will take a beating.
Nice! Thanks for the advice! I love my flyweights tho, it’s just that they don’t last much more than 2 fishing seasons for me. Maybe G4 is up next

One thing you never want to hear your girlfriend say, no matter what it is you're doing: "Aargh, I'm sick of this!"
Honestly, I wasn’t tired of fishing, just frustrated by losing so many fish in such a short time! It felt like I was failing at both casting and landing fish. But I quickly got over it 😁
Definitely a trout salmon don’t feed once they enter the river system
I agree it’s a trout! But no clear signs of feeding made us question ourself at that time
@@slowrisemedia your in big fish country now biggest in the country but they get a lot of pressure
@@turbostunt321 yeah very pressured water, we can tell!
