I swear I understood this when I got high for like 3rd time. I was walking with my friend in the night high as fuck, then all of a sudden I relaxed my mind, then so many deep thoughts came through my mind and this was one of them! And also I see this life just like a game, whatever you choose to do, even small small choices is what writes your future. For example you r in your class, you are quite. You control what people will think of you for the next 1 day, 1 week, year or for life depending on what you are going to do. For example you stand up and put your pants down and pee in the middle of the class room. If you are gonna do that you'll always be remembered in your class mates minds for the rest of their life, and that'll be a life where your class mates remember you as the wierd kid that peed in the classroom. But if you act like normal, then that life you could've had won't happen. I don't know if you read this far or get what I'm saying. But if you did remember you write your future and this life is a game and YOU control it.

I was tough, physical and mental. I was 39, fit as only a military man can be. I did all the runs with my men. With 80lb packs. Then one sunny October day I was biking home from the base and I was hit by a car broadside. I woke up in the hospital. And all the physical toughness evaporated. But the mental toughness increased.

My mom died 7 years ago. She was the rock of our family. We still feel her loss to this day. A week after she passed, my band and I had a show. A month afterwards, my hockey team and I won our championship. What I love about playing drums and being a goalie is the pressure because you’re the backbone for both groups. With being a goalie especially because the normal reaction is to move out of the way of something flying at you at 100 mph.
I came back here today, almost Dec 21st. I place this date bc I remember I watched this video on Dec 21 2020 when I was going to my first job, I was 19yo. I watched it because I felt anxious and nervous, this helped to overcome a lot of things. Once day I thought about dropping off my job, but I didnt and I am here, I am closer to reaching my goals. So, I encourage people to keep going and think well about your desicions. It feels good to see how much you improve and change
1. Pain tolerance (pressure creates pain) 2. Preparation for the pressure and the pain 3. Never show hurt! 4. How you react when you are tested 5. Tough enough 6. Be unshakable 7. Test your limits 8. The next time you say you gonna do something do it!
As a single mom, I've had to push myself beyond the "limits" of what I ever thought I could do. It is amazing what we can do when we have to. Make it through until the next week, the next day and even that next five minutes. I didn't always have to get through it beautifully, but I had to MAKE IT THROUGH! Stay strong! The best is yet you come if you persevere.
Achieving mental toughness for me was having a very strict Father with a IQ. Close to 200 ! Going through Basic training was shocking to see how many people broke down. I did everything not to laugh out loud a lot . That made me realize how much my father had prepared me .Instead of laughing I would give them guidance and support !
As an iranian I love your contents. Right now it's been 3 years we started a company in Turkey and lost everything. I slept empty stomach last night. My formula is ready right now and we don't have money to spend on living. I hope this week we send our disinfectant to the final test. We don't have money to pay for it yet. I'm in shit literally. Being alone and Homesick. Didn't see my family for a long time. I'm crying right now. Really need to hear this. I was thinking to go back to iran and let it go and start again. I'm going to fight until last breath. Thanks Patrick

The only way to become mentally tough is to start going outside your comfort zone more often and to do the things you fear. That’s because growth doesn’t happen when you’re feeling secure, but when you’re constantly struggling and doing the things that make you insecure.
Somehow, this is exactly what I needed right now in my life. Just got evicted from my home at the same time trying to make my Social media marketing agency business succeed. Been really thinking about my life since morning and here comes PAT to save me with great words. Thank you 💞
Father's are a great influence on a child's mental toughness. A good father knows how to steel a mind, a weak father raises an indulgent child, an absent father leaves the child to decide its fate
My Mother, Father, sports, my wife, kids, attending USC and life experience have given me my mental toughness. Marine Corps boot camp and being a Fleet deployed Marine gave me the experience in being pushed as close to death as one could be and surviving. I remember taking a Marine Scuba class in Okinawa. Day one, the instructor: "You will drown in the class or you will fail" ...we had to experience what it would be like to drown, and be comfortable with it...An experience I will never forget. It's a blessing being able to open our eyes every morning,.Take advantage of that!. These are tough times for us all...keep fighting..!! Fight On!
Pain only tells me im still alive...and what ever im feeling couldn’t be worse then death. So i carry death next to me cause it humbles me down on any adversity i face. Pain is only... temporary, words, names, issues, conflicts,feelings..its all temporary
I had my baby at home, alone naturally by myself and glad It happened that way. It taught me one of the greatest lessons in my life; it enabled me to believe in myself finally!
Pat I learn from you. One thing I disagree with you about is pressure. You say it sucks. I love it. Pressure forces your hand to succeed or fail. Pressure being tested is what makes me thrive. Without pressure one becomes mediocre. I personally can’t except mediocre.
I've had bad ptsd and that's why people quit sometimes and I just want to say: don't underestimate or hate youraelf for messing up or laying down. Just keep watching the tons of videos out there that say the difference between winning a losing is getting back up and one day it starts to sink in and the fear lessens and slowly you get back up again and get back up again. Not necessarily. People with ADHD lack the senses of urgency needed to pull that source of will. Urgency is the antidote to pain and misery of mismanaging your responsibilities. Certain people can’t build strength of will, they can only direct their mind toward that which helps them maintain their responsibilities without the human drive of will being present. It’s a lot like what Patrick says about Preparation and the man black Vito commented below you

Brilliant, relevant, so many good parts. 5 mins longer, applies to so many areas of life, regain composure, seek clarity, stick it out. Preparation is the game, can 5x or 100x your results. I have to say that when I first saw this guy, my first impressions were not good. Now, after seeing this video, I have a whole new level of respect for this man. I can see why I didn't like him and it's the same reason I didn't like some other people in my life. You can either have excuses, or you can have success. He isn't tying to be hurtful or not caring of your problems, he's just used to having the problems himself and making the hard decisions and comes out a better person. I say a better person in a sense, because it all had to do with what you really want to be known for. You want to be the shoulder to cry in, you will only get those types of people in your life. If you want to be a winner, you will attract winners. It's always been hard for me because I'm a very very empathetic person... And in my 37 years I've seen and been through some shit to make your head spin. But I've never abandoned anyone, or given up on anyone. That's why I have those people in my life. I think deep down that's more important to me, spiritually. But I used to be more conceded and arrogant and I was a winner, I had to be. I do want to get back there , back to winning! However, life's a journey and I think I needed to see life from another perspective to say I at least tried! You dont have to beat someone down, to lift yourself up in life and that was my lesson I needed to learn.
This was a great video. I have one objection. We need to stop thinking that we are so special the "universe" is testing us. Our success comes from what we expect from, of, and for ourselves, happiness is how far we feel from our expectations, character is what we expect from our actions, and the ego is the sum of all of our expectations. Admit to yourself what you expect. Own it and do everything Pat said in this video if and when the moment holds the potential fullfillment of what you actually expect. Don't live someone elses life. Don't fulfil someones elses dream. Don't prove others point. Don't answer another persons call. Don't let anyone steal your humanity. Remeber you are not their entertainment. The danger is not just that you can become what entertains you, but become responsible for what or whom you entertain. Much love to you Pat. I get alot from your videos.
I’m all for stoicism but come on. That perception shit is bull. When there’s bad times and you can’t eat and you’re business tanks. That’s a big difference from when it’s good times and you have healthy cash flow business and a maxed out Vanguard index fund

Sorry to hear about that story! What happened to the driver? …
@@christopherarmstrong2710 He got out of his car to yell at me (according to witnesses there, I have no memory of that) then he got into his car and drove off. The cops never found him or his car. That was in 1999. My hope is that he was able to find some measure of peace out of all this. I'd hate to live with a hit and run on my conscience (bad enough to live with having taken lives from others in war)
@@wingtrek8914 Thanks for sharing your story. You're right, that guy acted cowardly and will have that on his conscience for sure. That's a terrible experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. Sounds like you truly are mentally tough - you're story has inspired me to keep fighting on and to never complain with whatever challenges maybe thrown my way, as they pale in comparison...
Hope you have a great week ahead!
you inspired me as well. take care
and yet here you are, advertising your pain. message received.
#1 reason why I love Patrick Bet-David: he was raised by a father who taught him that YOUR WORD MATTERS. Jesus, if that level of integrity isn’t the most rare quality in humanity today.
Mental Toughness is Mental Power. 1. Mental Power (Your wish is fulfilled at speed) 2. Perseverance Till Achieved Goals
The mind is so powerful, if you really want something, you'll be amazed at how powerful your mind is and what you're capable of.
to live a life with pain and not exploit it is probably the best compliment you could give a man... that and being a great father. RIP Chadwick

Thank you for the kick in the ass.

You got this buddy! Think about reinventing yourself as part of the cycle of life. My husband and I lost everything in 2008. We had to rebuild while taking on 2 more, kids 5 total, who needed parents. Tested our toughness for sure.

It feels good to see how much you improve and change
what did u improve in ur life in those 2 years?
1. Pain tolerance (pressure creates pain)
2. Preparation for the pressure and the pain
3. Never show hurt!
4. How you react when you are tested
5. Tough enough
6. Be unshakable
7. Test your limits
Agree! Single Mom here too. We are tough! :)
Stacy, I was a single mom for 10 years, I get you!
I'm learning to be a single dad. It's no joke. Good news is you get a lot of quality time.
right on stacy!
Mental strength & toughness is what much needed these days. You know you got what it takes. Belive in yourself like failing is not an option.

Btw. for those withour time there's a nice video about it by Ali Abdaal.

Strength of will is the most important.

Simple but can't agree more
I have to say that when I first saw this guy, my first impressions were not good.
