"Drop Perfection"s advice can also be comunicated as "Do it, even if you do it badly. Because it's the first time, it's going to be awful no matter what, since you have no experience. It's normal. So instead of not even doing it, do it but do it badly. That's better than nothing." It's similar to drawing a rough sketch of something. It's at least something. (From Jordan B. Currently working on this since 3+ years and I is a hard and painful journey especially when everyone around me tells me to stop working so hard. I failed many many times, slept in many times. Patrick how hard working you are,I always read about superheroes but you are the real life hero, a true hero, you are the captain America. You belong to military, you fighting hard and you empower others.A Grand Salute to you.
Drop perfection. I really liked this point and I've never heard anyone else cover it in this way. Literally happens to me with my university essays. I don't want to start them - because everytime I do start them I know I'll be up until 6am perfecting them. Then what happens is they get left to the last minute and suddenly I have 3 to do in one night and I rush them all so much they're poor. Whereas, if I just do them as they come and get them done - they might not be perfect but they'll be very good and much better than a night before job.
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful content…for putting it out there with the passion that many of us need and strive for. I'm starting to listen to you almost every morning. Your voice and words are calming, clarifying, uplifting and motivating. It feels real and genuine. I am grateful to have your channel as a source for having a better relationship with myself and the world around me?
The power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment, You create a good future by creating a good present. The key to financial freedom and great wealth is a person's ability to convert earned income into passive income to build generational wealth ,this trick has never failed .
Purchasing Bitcoin doesn't always assures winning, the ability to make profit off your capital is what makes you win.. Stop relying on the market price to make profit. Choose trading ?
I will be watching this once a day. I am 41 and been feeling burnt out. I used to work 12 hour days, but now I struggle, and I am working at getting back to my young self.
I'm a plumber so I've been plugging the leaks every day for 26 years, lol. Thank you for your videos Pat, I watch 1 video every morning as part of my routine, sometimes the same one over and over, as said in this video, I'm training my brain to focus. Much love and aloha to everyone
WOW... this is THE BEST CONTENT I'VE EVER SEEN ON WORK ETHIC!!!!!!! I'm truly blessed to have found this channel about 5 months ago and have seen almost EVERY single video!!!! Thank you so much Patrick!!
It's amazing how this video does not have that many views compared to his other videos with catchier titles, simple because people don't want to hear about WORK ETHIC. Instead, they just want things to come easily to them. Keep up the real talk, Pat.
Your damn right. Everyone wants to skip the process. The entitled generation that has been told that your a fool for working hard. They think that everything is suppose to come easy. Hard work prevails in the end. I believe that!
I have played soccer with many people and 99% of them in my age bracket has either stopped playing or are playing at a Masters age level. I am still competing against 18 year old at my age of 40. I ask my team mates and colleagues to join me in cardio training. The same 2 guys show up.
You nailed it when people think that other people are lazy they just don't want to hear it well maybe not lazy but they don't work hard enough then up productive enough people don't want to hear that everything he is staying everything that Pat saying I'm looking at one of my weaknesses I have to gain strength and I have to get better at that's why I like his stuff exposes my weaknesses so I can make them stronger
Pat and Simon sinek to of probably the leading people on UA-cam that really have people dialed in and no how to make a change in society and in business
I just hit 600% of my quota because unlike my colleagues who clock out exactly at 5 and in exactly at 8, I worked at least 50% more than that (12 hours minimum ). And I still have 5 months to go. Last year I hit 3775% of my quota. ( my company tripled my quota after last year’s result otherwise I would already be at 7000% quota right now for this year). Hard work!
your a hero man, after all that work you've done for the entire day your face is looking so tired and you're still there providing value for your people. It truly is a symbol of hard work and work ethic.
I like how you talk as if you're a buddy of mine who I'm skyping with right now.. Like a buddy who wants to see me succeed as much as he did. Thanks for being so genuine! I keep forgetting that it's a how-to-vid, that's how good you are at what you do! 👏👏👏
This is the best advice I’ve heard.I’m a construction business owner.in nyc trying to get my business to the next level and land more high end work..sometimes my motivation dies out but I watch one of your videos and it once again motivates me to keep going .thank you
I like how you consistently mention your people by name. We as viewers don't know who the hell they are, but I know they appreciate getting acknowledged that way. Well done.
I have been listening to your content for over a year even prior to opening this channel. It has helped me tremendously with my own personal development as well as building and growing my business. Thank you for your videos!
I watch this, while doing my daily accounting, at some point I yelled at you and pausing cause I can't process the numbers with the wisdoms that you preached... what an amazing channel! Got me thinking, and got me going
Thank you for the great video- I am making a commitment to Write the Script for the "Hard-Work Scale" Today! Here is what looks like so far: 1-Create one short term video a Day--30-45 Mins. 2-Create one long form video every 4 Days- 4 Hours to script, record and post. 3- Block out 3 Hours a week to learn how to optimize my strategy, get more and more clarity on identity, and to develop Greater Momentum. 4-Block out 4 Hours of education a Day- 3 Hours of Religious Knowledge. 1 Hour towards Worldly Knowledge. 5- Move ONE Move everyday towards my Real-Estate Portfolio. 6-Move ONE mover Everyday towards my Education Establishment Pursuits. 7-Move ONE move everyday towards the business I participate in as a business owner.
as a musician, i’ve constantly outworked those around me and thought that i was the hardest working musician on the planet. this video proved me wrong. i haven’t been pushing myself, i surround myself with distractions, and i’ve always made excuses. no more. thanks for the video, it really opened my eyes to myself.
Insanely accurate.. So pleasing to observe the way broad audiences are being influenced by entrepreneurs whom posses a deep and clear understanding towards the meaningfulness of identifying your purpose in life, which will eventually dictate the direction and destination of the rest.
Patrick you are the man! The value you provide for free is insane! You've helped me more than some of my own family. Thank you for making me realize my potential. AMAZING VIDEOS SIR THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR WISDOM.
Pat, you are simply making me a better man! I cannot thank you enough for showing HOW it MUST be done. It is knowing how to do the right things the right way!
I feel like the "reward yourself" segment is what separates this advice from others. So many other people will say to never do it. However, utilized properly, its a great short-term goal. Starting off and feel bad because you are addicted to video games? Make it your goal to get through the whole week, Monday-Friday just working, no games, then take an entire day to do whatever the fuck you want without remorse. You earned it. The only problem is that you also have to build the discipline to not let your self-rewarding get out of control.
best tutorial video I've seen on UA-cam. Well objective and on point. .. that word clearing as a start is awesome. Wish to see more youtubers doing the same rather than hearing them talking hours of their own morals that doesn't necessarily help others. thank you Patrick
Standards: consistency, is keep doing your work and doing it the way you are supposed to , you are prepared for all involved in your field and even some that is not. You are a actor , the star of your show. and should always be that way
I'm glad you defined this... A few times I've thought to myself, I need to have a better work ethic.. I've had a phenomenal work ethic my entire life, I just need to figure out my road map and know what's next to do. :/
Hey man. I've just got out of a slump and your channel helped me a lot. This video was exactly what I needed as i was unsure of people with whom I wanted to associate. Patrick you are the man! The value you provide for free is insane! You've helped me more than some of my own family. Thank you for making me realize my potential.
Thank u for an amazing video as always. I grew up without my parents you are the father I was always looking for. Such a great inspiration! Thank you Pat ❤
I'm Subscribed!! I am the Plant Manager, where I work at a non-profit organization in Texas. I want to say that I absolutely love this video. I have self-taught me to motivate everyday. To get where I am today. I have been employed for 16 years. I started from the bottom and worked all the way. My Corporate company is located 1 1/2 hours from me. They trust me and I plan on keeping it that way. Just wanted to say, "Thank you!!" I'm all about passing all this energy I have to my employees.
Took me a few times to watch this video to understand it completely. I'd watch this video every now and then, and realized when people have a change in perspective, or aligned, frequency, vibration, energy, lens, beliefs, ways, priorities; whatever you want to call it; you understand these types of videos far differently and wisely... So I personally call it priorities, or thought language, learning to think different ways similarly to speaking different languages... And ya. These videos are very valuable. PBD knows a lot, understands it, and explains it really well.
As a millennial.. this is one of the best videos made for people in my generation. This needs to be heard a lot more, especially by my generation. Hard work = profit and success
@@VALUETAINMENT Where do I begin?! For starters, this is my 3rd time watching it today. The 2nd time I took extensive notes lol. You started by dissecting the origins of the word phrase and it made me think so much more about what I want my business to be and how far I could possibly go with it. The entire video was a strong motivational speech with fun stories and applied reasoning. Alot of the concepts and questions I've toyed with answering and doing (like I know what needs to be done but didn't actually get to work.) Today I started off the day with this video and actually applied many of the techniques such as, don't wait until tomorrow, be consistent, sometimes working harder is just as effective as working smarter, align yourself with people who are as passionate as you, call call call, do it now, eat right, don't get side tracked, stay focused. Today I went to look at potential properties, I spoke to a person in retail who knows the area and the market, I spoke to multiple realtors, made two meetings today on the spot, I refined my business plan and strategy, I revised my todo list, and I let go of the need for perfection and just took the shot. Multiple shots. Made connections. Usually I'm super afraid of these things...for what reason I still don't know, but I did it. Now I have a realtor, a new investor, and a mentor all in one day! Next is writing game plan to dissect and correct my poor behaviors.
All these years later, these words still resonate with my ears. I'm with PBD all the way. More power to all my brothers and sisters who are out here trying to make it big in their lives.
5:45 most important part of the video Understanding your morals, standards etc 7:45 how to improve your work ethic Predictable, consistency, preparation, do more (outwork them), now mentality, find running mates to push you, discipline even when you don’t feel like it, cut distractions, absolute focus - practise it, have a to do list, look after yourself to revive , plug the leaks, cut the fat, drop perfection
Your videos always depress the heck out of me b/c I see how I've fallen short and I'm usually 50/50 whether I can take it to the next level. But it always resonates despite feeling overwhelmed. But also with each video the feeling of defeatism recedes a bit, a bit more each time. I did a 6-day writing productivity challenge, trying to hit a word count each day, and I managed it but it was HARD hitting it each day. It was only my obsession with always finishing something that pulled me through. This is useful for everyone, not just sales. Thanks for the teaching.
Thank you for this. I’m no longer an entrepreneur however I have achieved many goals in my life and career! Here are some of them. Learning to sing, teaching myself to read music when I was about 5 as no one around me could teach me after playing by ear which comes very whilst listening to as many different records as I could. I used to ask if I could look through and listen to records from other people’s collections whenever I got to visit my real family to find new artists that I hadn’t heard of as there was no internet, UA-cam, Spotify or iTunes. I was extremely happy to sit with giant headphones on listening to anything and everything. As a teenager I’d go to record shops to go through 1000’s of records. I spent a lot of time in HMV Oxford Street, London listening to tracks in booths! I memorised every album cover and the track orders. I managed to control my anxiety enough in order to perform well and earn money every weekend to feed my family for 25 years. At school when asked what did I want to be when I grow up I used to say I want to be a singer I was laughed and sniggered at. I loved bumping into teachers/pupils years later because they’d always ask “what are doing now?” and I’d say I’m working and earning very good money as a vocalist. I achieved my goal! I’m still my worst critic and I have to try and forget about perfection as it’s not possible! Music became my career, my escape and my reward. Sadly my singing career is currently finished but not over. I’m now working in a refrigerated warehouse working for the biggest U.K. supermarket chain. It’s not great as it’s a hostile “dog eat dog” environment but it’s what I have to do right now in order to survive. I do apply my work ethic everyday that I’m there. I constantly refer back to it and try not to get distracted by the vast amount of people there who do not meet my work ethic and stay focused on my own. I have ptsd and my organisation skills are not great which has affected my performance in my new job. It was so bad that my employer started their process of elimination. So I now I have to think and prepare, I prepare for the next shift just before I leave the current one by leaving the tools I need to do my job in exactly the same place so I know they are there ready. It has removed some of the anxiety and self doubt that I battle with every day. My mother had psychosis and I was sadly taken away from her and my dad and put into care via court order at 9 months. I remained in care until I was about 7 and abused mentally and physically by both my foster parents who are now dead and therefore got away with it. (thankfully my real parents never gave up on me or my sister and fought to get us back!) so I don’t know if I’ll ever remove all all of it because the blame and shame of telling yourself it’s all your fault for as long as you can remember is so deep routed but I CAN remove some of it. I will not let the abusers continue to destroy or ruin the rest of my life and I mentally fight with those little demons that tell me I’m crap and that no one likes or wants you every day. Ive started to arrive earlier and my personal performance is improving. I’m not doing it for my employer, I’m doing it for me. BOOM! I remind myself every day that you have wade through mud to get to the cleaner, fresher waters. Music is still my escape and reward. When I’m on my break I listen to music in my car, be it Mozart or Rage Against The Machine. I choose whatever track my brain decides it needs that day and put it on repeat for a while. Recently it’s been Shake It Off by Taylor Swift as people still laugh and snigger! It’s been on repeat for at least a week as things have been really bad recently. I’ve been verbally abused quite a lot at work recently. I try to have a thick skin but it doesn’t always work! My new goal is to do get into backing vocals. Aiming to provide backing vocals on artists recorded tracks or at live gigs if and when they’re ever allowed again. Thank you again for reminding me of these pointers. I still get a bit lost some days and lose my focus which allows the mind gremlins to come back and talk to me so I’ll come back to watch and listen again in order to keep them at bay. Once again, thank you! Xxxx
You're parents instill your values while you're a child. But it can be changed by a lot of elbow grease. And hopefully you will give that blessing to your offspring.
Plug the leaks.. my job is a leak. I quit full-time and went to part-time contracting a couple years ago so I could work on my business majority of the time. A job is a serious leak! It's a constant distraction. I really hope over the next couple of years I can pack it in completely and work 100% on the business. Good luck to others in escaping the trap!
I've seen a fair amount of Valuetainment videos but I believe this is one of the best if not the best. Episodes like this make me feel more normal and also help me understand that its better to not give in when people say "relax", "take it easy", "you work too hard" I highly recommend that you listen very closely to Pat on this one, he is dropping gems.

Let's see if there's more to it than I thought.

Yes but it's all about the balance between this and other things that you need to be doing, improving yourself is important aswell as doing the actual work
It's amazing how everything that Patrick says is right and he is so motivating about it. When I make big in the near future he will be one of the reasons why.
As far as the rule of "dont seek perfection". I know this may throw some people off, but what I do in those situations where I am not prepared, I pray. I pray that the Lord gives me the wisdom and knowledge to move forward and know what to say at the right time. and BOOM it happens, I do it all the time cause of the nature of my work, we dont get time to prepare, everything is off the cuff, there are no scripts. So that does help me, of course I believe it will happen which is a big reason it does. Praying isnt the answer, believing the Lord will come through is the key to it.

I relate a lot
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful content…for
putting it out there with the passion that many of us need and strive for. I'm starting to listen to you
almost every morning. Your voice and words are
calming, clarifying, uplifting and motivating.
Easy way to build wealth for the next all generation is to consistently invest in trade , and watch them grow ?
quite interesting to know over 97% of the billionaires we know are all secret investor in crypto, that were they grow their billion dollar portfolio ?
I truly agree with you on that, I must say trading is the future and with the way Bitcoin is growing, it's really advisable for people to trade now.
Hey, you have a great morning ritual I like to try it myself. Any way, have you been progressing for these 3 years?

WOW... this is THE BEST CONTENT I'VE EVER SEEN ON WORK ETHIC!!!!!!! I'm truly blessed to have found this channel about 5 months ago and have seen almost EVERY single video!!!! Thank you so much Patrick!!
3:26 I love the way you're breaking this down. I've been a lazy shit, half-assing for years. Too much potential undeveloped right now.
I feel the same way S.S, I guess its our time to get things in motion
Sandy Knowles fear will hold you back. Fuck up nd get fired lol
Sandy Knowles but you look real good
Has that changed recently?
Those people have no work ethic lol.
This man is a rock star. Happily pay for advice of this quality.

Hey Patrick, I was wondering how do I measure my work ethic? (like in term of a percentage or a number).
www.gofundme.com/jslwealthcolombianrealtityshowfuturescontract
It has been said that we can measure our work ethic by our bank accounts.
Wendy Powers Haha, this is so true in most ways
Hey patrick, I'm a UNT student near Dallas and would like to schedule a meeting with you and propose a business idea.
I watch this, while doing my daily accounting, at some point I yelled at you and pausing cause I can't process the numbers with the wisdoms that you preached... what an amazing channel! Got me thinking, and got me going
Perfection prevents Explosion.... So so true and my favourite part of this episode

as a musician, i’ve constantly outworked those around me and thought that i was the hardest working musician on the planet. this video proved me wrong. i haven’t been pushing myself, i surround myself with distractions, and i’ve always made excuses. no more. thanks for the video, it really opened my eyes to myself.
It is knowing how to do the right things the right way!
i agree
Thanks, Pat! Everybody needs to hear this!
I see you have taken a lot of cues from Kobe Bryant's Work Ethic. That man is a living legend. Love the videos, keep them coming.
I think not!
Right, Right! This is a blessing
best tutorial video I've seen on UA-cam. Well objective and on point. .. that word clearing as a start is awesome. Wish to see more youtubers doing the same rather than hearing them talking hours of their own morals that doesn't necessarily help others. thank you Patrick
Im 22 just opened my business and work 110 hours a week because of those books and ideas. Love your videos/story! Howard Roark!

Absolutely the greatest channel on UA-cam. Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge with us, Patrick.
Thank you for this video. I needed to get refocused on my company and this really helped. Thank you! Please keep up the great work
As a millennial.. this is one of the best videos made for people in my generation. This needs to be heard a lot more, especially by my generation. Hard work = profit and success
This guy is awesome .
I'm going to start watching all his videos with my wife and kids
I’m watching this video in February of 2022 as a sales manager. This is gold…thank you brother. Love the content
This is my favorite video thus far. Thank you so much!
What did you like most about it?
A tip for being more productive is to watch UA-cam videos in 1.5x or 2x speed (works in desktop)
Kiwi I just watched this on 2x speed after reading your comment i really Liked it thanks.
Most people would just end up watching 1.5 or 2 times as many videos
A good book to read on a strong work ethic "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy. How do you get over a plateau?
Yes Yes
spiderdan04 5 more reps, Pat
Appreciate spiderdan
Did you not listen? Go back and listen again
Who's here working on and improving themselves in 2022? This vid is going strong 3 years running... this will never get old!
All these years later, these words still resonate with my ears. I'm with PBD all the way. More power to all my brothers and sisters who are out here trying to make it big in their lives.
5:45 most important part of the video
Understanding your morals, standards etc
7:45 how to improve your work ethic
Predictable, consistency, preparation, do more (outwork them), now mentality, find running mates to push you, discipline even when you don’t feel like it, cut distractions, absolute focus - practise it, have a to do list, look after yourself to revive , plug the leaks, cut the fat, drop perfection
There is something special about feeling like you've got the heart of a champion who has never surrendered, despite all stress, pain and fear.
I wish I could do more for you than just like and share your videos. Love the content brother
+ylber t help us get to a million. 👍🏼👊🏼
I constantly refer back to it
and try not to get distracted by the vast amount of people there who do not meet my work ethic and stay focused on my own. Xxxx
The sheer value of each and every one of these videos is absolutely amazing
Thank you for taking the time to break all this quality content down. Definitely appreciate it. Keep it coming brother and God bless!!!
It is hard to have a good work ethic, you most likely are not born with one, you must create your own over time.
So true, For sum, Other's had a person in their life that was inspirational to them with a good work ethic.
The more you do, the more you become capable of doing! Momentum.
You're parents instill your values while you're a child. But it can be changed by a lot of elbow grease. And hopefully you will give that blessing to your offspring.
Love all your videos man!
10:49 keep going
22:10 cut fat, key work, not “hard hustle 12h day” but contacts to grow a business

I've seen a fair amount of Valuetainment videos but I believe this is one of the best if not the best.
Episodes like this make me feel more normal and also help me understand that its better to not give in when people say
"relax", "take it easy", "you work too hard"
I highly recommend that you listen very closely to Pat on this one, he is dropping gems.
This is so great, thank you so much Pat!

If I'm watching this, am I being productive?
yes
yes, because you invest in yourself
Yes as long as you invest in life extension science parallel to this.
If you apply the learned things, then yes, definetly. If you just watch it to feel better and "productive" afterwards, then no :)
This is such a kick ass message.
Thanks Pat.
