The best series of videos for this is Motionworks Making It Look Great 11. It explains EVERYTHING related to topology tactics. Also check out Jon Dickinson on UA-cam, he's the owner of Motionworks.
One of the reasons Polygonpen's tutorials are so good, I'd say the best for cinema modelling there is, is that he uses correct topology methods AND he picks a great variety of objects to model. You could easily become an expert by following his tutorials.
