Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 кві 2020
- Chase and I cut out the old rotted out floor pans and torque boxes in the Jeep Wrangler TJ, welded in new floor boards and torque boxes then finished up the project with Upol's Raptor liner!
Tanks bud dont know why you only have few views you doing a greet job, but you make my work sooo mutch easy, toi help me a lot
Thanks Alex! Yeah, I've been trying to grow this channel for a while now. Trying to put out good content but it's hard to come by views and subscribers. Can be frustrating at times but it is what it is. Glad to hear my video helped you!
The viewer dont count, if you help 50 person thats a win for me
Nicely done, welding is so fun to overcome and do yourself. I've been doing some long overdue maintenance on my 99 TJ.
Quoper yessir! It’s a never ending battle. Thanks for the support.
I just finished doing the same to my jeep how did everything hold up I spot welded everything put all metal and then seam sealer then bed liner
That’s exactly what I did. I literally just sold this TJ a few weeks back and it has held up great. I did make a recent walk around video of the TJ as well so feel free to check that out.
Good video man! That rust made me feel a hell of a lot better about what I have going on with mine lol. But looks like it turned out great 👍🏻
Yessir! Still holding up great and I’m not easy on it.
Awesome project guys! Came out sick
Thanks! It was a lot of work but I learned a lot and it was gratifying to do it myself with the help of some friends.
It must be a Jeep thing. Mime has the same issues so i was reaearching stuff. If only there was some kind if recall for this 😂
That’s what we get for living in the rust belt 😆
Nice job!
Thanks! It was a lot of work and a great learning experience!
Any plans for a followup video on how the rust repair has held up?
Jeremy Rhodes not as of right now!
I went out to my jeep tj, pulled the carpet back and holy hell batman. It like brand new under there.
Lucky! Must be a southern Jeep!
Jeep looks killer and I’m trying to do the same this coming winter with my tj but my question is around where the rust is by the roll cage did you just weld the roll cage to new pieces or disconnect the cage and weld on new pieces to bolt into?
Daniel Griffin we made new plates for the cage as the old plates were so rusted out. Basically cut off the old plate and welded on new ones with thick steal.
Excellent video. I would have liked to see a list or links of all products you used. I really liked the coating you used. I found it on Amazon. It's pricey. How much did you use?
The coating I used was Raptor Liner by UPOL. I ordered the six liter kit and used approximately five liters.
Awesome job! What brand fenders and rear flares are you using?
It’s been a couple of years since I put the fender flares on but I think I just got them off Amazon. The front fenders are a little bit more difficult to put on because you have to cut into your existing fenders and relocate your turn signals.
I'm looking for someone to put in new torque boxs & possibly floor pans right now Any suggestions in your area? (GR)
I would look into Never Enough Auto in Grant. They did my TJ frame repair and did a great job. I’m sure they could tackle floor pans and torque boxes.
What brand of spray in bed liner did you use? How does it hold up?
It’s called UPOL Raptor liner. Awesome product and is still holding up great! I highly recommend it.
Just found mine like that this morning! Where did you get your parts from?
If I remember correctly I believe we got mine from morris4 x 4.com. However, there are a ton of online options to get the floor pans and torque boxes.
Doing a 97 tj rusty Michigan snow plow jeep doing same rust repair but doing frame off
It's a lot of work but totally worth it! Mine is also a 97 located in Michigan!
what ratio did you mix for the grey raptor liner
Honestly, it’s been so long ago that I forget. Pretty sure I just followed the instructions that came with the Raptor liner.
Whats the use of those 2 radios.
I run a CB and GMRS radios in my jeep for comms.
what product did you use for seam sealing?
Jeremy Rhodes liquid nails for metal
TJ love....it's reciprocal. if you give it, it will give it back.
Yup! Put a lot of work into that old TJ!
@@TrailExpedition likewise with my 2000. Lots of anti sieze!....and frame welding.
I did sell my TJ a little over a year ago to get into a JT. The JKU is now my primary off-road vehicle.
Looks like your frame may need some safe T caps welded on pretty soon.
Already done. It was the next thing I did after the floors.
@@TrailExpedition did you make a video for the caps?
Nope! That I had done by an off-road shop.
Is this going to be my Jeep in a few years? Definitely. Why must Jeeps love rust so much...
Not sure but if you figure it out then let me know! LOL!
That’s what mines like . Is it unsafe to drive
Not unsafe but definitely have to make a lot more attention to the road.
Sorry, I thought you were asking about a different video. Yes! The frame and body being rotted out that badly is unsafe and should be repaired as soon as possible.
Dang that was rusted out. My jeep was t boned and i have to replace drivers side floor pannels and supports. And it even rolled over, i think i have less work then you. Welding bending and pulling.
Yeah man, it was a lot of work which took a few weeks. However, everything is holding up great! Good luck with yours!
@@TrailExpedition im under my jeep making a list of parts that i still need. Its looking like a great project, just need a drivers door that got caved inn.
@@joaquinaguilar5942 go with half doors. They’re awesome! 😎
@@TrailExpedition im going to find a pair also. But i also worry, living next to san bernardino. Its bad.
@@joaquinaguilar5942 right on. Yeah I’m in Michigan where they salt the roads in the winter. The older vehicles rust out quick. My TJ now gets put away when the snow starts to fall.
Oberon appears!
Only the best!
too high of quality for only 40 subs, im finishing up the same project. its a pain to do it yourself, but a little help from the rona pause i had time.
Thanks man! Yeah, putting these videos together is a lot of work and building this channel is a much slower process than I thought it would be. Thanks for the comment and good luck with your projects!
