    I can't imagine grass greening up so early and growing consistently prior to April! It's still in the low 20's in the morning around here and 40's during the day. I'm mowing a bit but can't wait to get really into everything else this year. I've learned a lot from you Ryan, thanks!

    I agree with you and the experts. Weed Beater Ultra is the best non-professional broadleaf weed killer on the market. Although I would recommend to your viewers the Ready-To-Use 1.33 Gallon Pump Spray. Keep it simple. For heavy infestations, move up to Speed Zone. Same active ingredients, but in higher dosage. I have not tried the Weed Beater Ultra concentrate at full strength.
    I started with Weed Beater Ultra, and it did some serious damage to my weed infestation. But my back lawn was in really bad shape and too many nasty flat growing, tap root broadleaf weeds were recovering (and Tenacity did not affect them). I did not want to consonantly re-spray chemicals over and over. Speed Zone decimated my remaining weeds like a hot knife through butter.

    I'm curious what the cost per 1K sqr ft would be to maintain a pretty decent lawn in a cold weather climate with two months of hot dry summer while maintaining a lawn that doesn't get too stressed out looking. Assuming watering twice a week 1/2 inch each time. I wondering because it seems expensive to to maintain a reasonably green weed free lawn even during the summer.

    Hello Ryan. Love your video about lawn care man. I have a question-I have a a lot of burned out spots which I’m thinking to reseed now in spring, but I have a tough layer of old and burned grass on the ground should I detach it first and which seed you would prefer? I live in western PA area

    Hey Ryan love the videos! When is too late to put down pre emergent? I am in New York and it was slowly approaching 55, have a few days of mid 60’s now, but supposed to cool off a bit the next few days. Been seeing some broadleaf plantain-like weeds popping up, hoping not too late!!

      I'd use it all the way up to soil temp of 70...that's a while yet

    Hey Ryan great videos!! I’m kinda new in the lawn care. My lawn looks kinda yellow right now. I have a dilema should I start fertilizing or should I overseed first. I have some spots that needs over seeding. And one last question. When should I start the irrigation system?

    I seen that Toro striping kit, just got one a couple weeks ago.

      When you get tired of using that Toro kit, check out Big League Lawns striping kits. Both designs require a bit more work to mow and use but Big League delivers the better results and is easier to back up when you need to.

      @@bondpit8750 yeah I had a customer of mine with a big league striper and got one last season probably a couple of weeks after this post and yes, it works great, just wish I could get rid of these weeds

    Good info. I wonder how long herbicides can be stored in a sprayer mixed with water before breaking down and losing their potency? Maybe they don’t break down, but I know bleach water does break down and is not as effective after just 24 hours. I’m also reseeding some areas and wanting to spot spray for weeds at the same time. I think I’ll bust out the chemicals next week.

      Personally I would like it mixed fresh and not sitting there for days just in case

    Hey Ryan what do you think about combining milorganite and lesco 24-0-11 for fertilizers in the spring and summer?

    • @ryanknorrlawncare
      @ryanknorrlawncare  4 роки тому +1

      I used to use milo in late may and early sept and then something like that less for the rest of the fall applications when it's colder

    Hey Ryan I live in northern Illinois with a mix of kbg/rye/fescue. I always do heavy fertilization in the fall. Was it ok to put down a full app of milorganite. I know it’s slow release and the temps are that warm for it be activated. Will it cause extra spring growth?

    Hey what’s up everyone. I had a chicka weed infestation. I recently applied tenacity with good results. It seemed to kill the chicka weed for the most part. My question is what do I do next? Do I leave it to die off and keep mowing. Or do I need to pull as much up manually as I can. Then over seed the bare spots? I’m fairly new to turf lawn game. I’m just not sure what the best next step would be. Any and all helpful comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. #never use untreated top soil or compost ☠️ Loved the video btw. Very helpful and understandable.

      You should be able to start mowing and that's fine. Depends on the grass type if you need to seed or if it will start to fill in on its own.
