    You’re the only lawn UA-camr who is actually providing real information. I’ve been commenting on other “lawn iron” videos when people complain it doesn’t work.
    You don’t need natural adjuvant or to try another brand. It all depends on the pH of the mixed solution for foliar absorption.
    Thank you for spreading this info man! 👏

    Dude I have been using Ferromec my supplier here has it on hand it’s like 40 bucks for 2.5 gallons and max rate is 8 oz. Per k you can literally watch it darken your lawn. Plus it’s 15-0-0. Your videos are awesome keep them coming.

      I have been eyeing FeRROMEC 15-0-0. Do you just use it as your fert application as well? The price and amount of coverage seems insane. The container says up to 160,000 sq ft? At full application, that would get me 17 applications! Ideally I want to go to spoon feeding next year. My lawn has looked great with the Yard Mastery Flagshp granular and using the micronutrients. Wanting to get a backpack sprayer and move to spraying/spoon feeding and the savings just look insane here. What are your thoughts on it so far?

    Have had a suspicion that the chlorine in tap-water makes the iron less effective- I have been using the water from
    my dehumidifier with various liquid iron brands and get the same quick deep green-up. I have also used distilled water
    and got the same results. Will definitely try adding citric acid to the next batch. This is a great community and I appreciate
    all the work that you put into your videos.

    • @chriskvikstad4980
      @chriskvikstad4980 Рік тому

      To get rid of the chlorine in the tap water, if you think it's impacting your results, put it in an open container and let it sit out for a day or so before using it. The chlorine will dissipate. It's a trick with sourdough bread baking so the chlorine in the tap water doesn't kill the good bacteria and yeast in the starter.👍

      There is no way I'm going to pay extra money to buy distilled water to spray it on my lawn, when I have tap water at home. The only bottled water that I'm paying for is my drinking water, not distilled water to put on my grass. When it rains, what are you going to do? Rainwater has contaminants from all the pollutants in the air, and there's nothing you can do about it because it's an act of God. You might as well go on and use tap water, since you're already paying for it anyway.

    Feature is my goto fert for a quick boost but I only foliar spray when temps are below 80. Above 80, I flood spray since I have no irrigation and it will burn if low humidity and dry soil. @@LAWNLIFE Thanks for the tip. Feature contains 6% nitrogen derived from Ammonium Sulfate. It will burn my lawn if foliar applied and not watered in if temps are above 80% and ground and air is dry. Watering in is impractical because there's just too much yard. The only way I can apply it under these condition is to mix is to flood apply it, like 100Gal/lb/10k sq/ft or about 3lbs/Acre... 6lbs in cool weather.
      Also.. Flodding takes a bit longer to show results, but the effect lasts much longer.

Stuff like this is why so many people still can’t go to UA-cam or google with confidence that they will get true factual information. Lawn care is not that complex and strategic, It's very simple. When it comes to grass, water is water. Everything else is nonsense because you're not going to drink it. Do you think grass can tell the difference if it's getting pure Evian, Fiji bottled water or tap water from the faucet? No, because it's grass and grasses are not selective of the kind of water it gets, as long as its water.

Surfactants along with aeration are also great for breaking up thatch, fairy rings and drainage. We have 5 acres of finish lawn (tall fescue, no irrigation) so detaching isn't an option. Great video. Thank you for the insight. Will adding PGR or Urea to this mixture affect the pH? Similarly if you correct the pH after adding these will that adversely affect the PGR or Urea. Thanks again.

    Hey man, great video, couple questions though: when you said you had high pH because you have hard water, are you taking that mix water straight from hot water tank? And if so, are you running a water softener upstream of that? I ask because my experience with hard water out here is that its hard because it has so much iron in it, so you might be doing more work than you need. Just a thought, if your regular cold tap water is also a high pH then don't worry about nothing.
    Like the vid though,

Is it still a good time to do the nitrogen boost. I am buying ammonium nitrate as u suggested.

    I have a few questions, if I may. 1. How do you determine the mix ratio? In other words, how do you know to mix 1.5oz of Feature per gallon to cover 1,000sf, and .1 oz of citric acid per gal for 1,000sf? 2. My backpack spayer holds 4 gallons. How did you determine the time it takes to empty your sprayer, so you can figure out a walking pace that will cover 4,000sf? 3. You mention to water after 4 hours of the product sitting on the blades. What will happen if you don't water? If rain is expected the next day, would that be okay?

    • @JEK
      @JEK 7 місяців тому

      You need to calibrate your sprayer, test to see how long it takes a gallon to spray out. Walk your area you want to spray with water so you can learn your walking pace.
