I am so excited that Brian Pearce and his sons are making videos. I have been reading his articles in Handloader and Rifle for many years and have the greatest respect for his knowledge and ability to truly educated in every articles. While reading a writer's articles for so many years one develops a certain persona for the writer. I am so pleased that I find him even more "real" in his videos that even in his writing. A true gentleman.

Hey gents , as always a superb topic and enjoyable conversation. My 1st rimfire rifle was a Browning Auto take down that fed through the stock, then ejected out the bottom.. There are far to many stories about this gun to fit in here. My first rimfire revolver was a 4" Colt Diamondback. I must include one story about it however. The cattle operation I worked for, was having problems with feral dogs. I managed to drop a dog with one shot, while my boss was watching. My 1st centerfire revolver was a 6" Python , to match the Diamondback. The first centerfire rifle was a Savage Mdl 99 in 250 Savage. It was my working saddle gun and the 1st rifle I reloaded for . ( 75 gr Hornaday H.P. with some IMR 4320 ) I still have both the gun and saddle scabbard. And in good light, you can still see horse sweat stains on the butt stock and scabbard. Priceless memories

Love it! Thanks again for these campfire videos! You guys really remind me of a branch of my family from the Pocatello area. I have a lot of great memories visiting them when I was a kid. Horseback riding and shooting out in the desert was pretty cool stuff for a young kid from Alaska.
My first centerfire handgun was a 4" S&W Model 28-2. I bought that revolver myself the day I turned 21, and since then it has helped me learn how to perfect my bullet casting skills. My younger sister learned how to shoot with it using light .38 loads on the Knik river just north of Anchorage.
I shot that revolver so much with cast 158 grain SWCs over 15 grains of 2400, that I managed to loosen it up. Thankfully at that time we still had a gunsmith in Anchorage that was extremely good with S&W revolvers, and he fixed the timing and end-shake for me. Of course since then I've backed off that load and generally only shoot midrange loads through it these days.
It may not be a vintage S&W revolver, but due to its importance to me I got a factory letter from S&W on it signed by Roy Jinks. I understand he's retired these days.

First rifle was a Marlin 81DL that my Dad bought after WWII. First pistol was an Italian brass framed baby dragoon. My Dad was worried that the cheap Italian gun would blow up on me, so he soon bought me a Ruger Old Army to replace it. A used Ruger Single-Six soon followed and my first center-fire pistol was a Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt.

First gun (excluding bb guns) was an Eastern Arms .410 single shot. It had a very small hammer spur, so it was quite difficult to cock it. My Dad said when I could get that hammer back on my own I would be big enough to own it. I would sit with it in my room, struggling and straining to get that dang hammer cocked. Finally conquered it and the gun was mine. Put a lot of squirrels in the pot with that gun. BTW it was slso my Dad’s first gun, and it is now in my youngest Son’s safe, his first gun. Hopefully will be his Son’s ( he is 3) first also. We never grew up with handguns although I have always loved them. My first was an H&R Mod 950 .22. Shot 1000’s of rounds through it, usually a brick every week. Still have that one too.

My first gun was a Marlin 336 in 30/30. When I was 12 I spent my summer vacation from school working at various jobs , mowing lawns, cutting fire wood, digging snake root in the hills. At the end of the summer my dad took me to the local gun shop where I purchased my Marlin in used condition . Great memory and feeling of accomplishment. 26 years later it’s still my main rifle and works perfectly. God willing I’ll be harvesting a bull elk in Colorado with it in a few weeks. It will be me and my sons second elk hunt . He got a bull the last time so hopefully it’s my turn. Lots of excitement can hardly wait.

Fantastic video thanks guys! My first gun I bought myself was a baikal side by side shotgun in 12ga... boy she booted like a mule but I shot many pests with that shotgun off the back of a truck under spotlights (legal on private land here in New Zealand 🇳🇿)
Shot many ducks with it too.
I eventually sold it to my dad but he recently gave it back to me and I'm so grateful to have her back recoil and all!

    Another great Sunday morning !
My first gun was a Marlin 336 30-30..
First handgun was Ruger OM 357 Blackhawk. Those Chipmunks were robust little rifles. Bought one used for my son. Been passed on to grandkids now. I wish I had my Dad's old Ruger 44 carbine I killed my first deer with. Time saves some guns, and passes others along.

I don’t have either of those anymore unfortunately. First gun I ever purchased on my own was a Marlin papoose which I do still have.

Grew up in an anti-gun house, so my first gun exposure was Boy Scout camp - an Anschutz target rifle. Got my merit badge and shot any time the range was open during the week. I was hooked. The first one I owned was a Smith & Wesson 422 4” .22 auto loader. Great little gun but it had to be cleaned after about 200 rounds or it would malfunction. Funny thing, my first pistol I shot was a PPK because Maryland had a waiting period. I bought the Smith on my 21st birthday but couldn’t pick it up for 10 days or so. That same visit I rented the PPK and so shot that one first.

Great video guys, my 1st gun was a center fire,6.5 Swede masterfully sporterized a gift from grandpa, next was 9422 seems so accurate you had to try & miss almost, still have & love them, 1st shotgun was what I consider the best designed pump gun ever, model 37 Ithaca 20 ga, I shoot ambidextrous so it's an ideal walking around scatter gun, 1st handgun S&W model 25 45 colt, & it still after all these years doesn't miss much either.

Early on I remember using a bunch of my dad’s guns. Things such as Ruger 10/22, h&r single shot .410, Ruger mark II .22, Ruger .44 magnum carbine, etc.
When I graduated high school a friend of the family gave me a Colt Frontier Scout .22 (I still have it). The first gun I bought when I turned 21 was a Ruger SP101 .357 magnum (still have this one as well).
    Thanks for the video

My first gun still is a Ted Williams single shot.22 made by Ithaca and sold at Sears and Roebuck. It looks like a Winchester lever action. When you work the lever the bolt breaks down and you load a cartridge. I have shot so many 22 shorts through this rifle that a long rifle will have a stuck case. There’s no way to know how many hogs and squirrels and rabbits have been killed with it.

My first gun (post BB gun period) was a Marlin bolt action .22. I still have it. But it got away from me for a while. When I lived in Illinois my house was burgled while I was at work and they stole that rifle and a 20 gauge shotgun. Some time later I received a call from down around St Louis that the police had retrieved my firearms. I went down and collected them and they had evidence tape all over them, which was a booger to get off, pre goo gone.
I still have that .22 but my Dad accidentally sold my 20 gauge pump thinking it was one of his. I had left the firearms with him when I moved out of state.
The gun I wish I had back, a USAF SA with color case hardened frame. It was a beauty and I shouldn’t have sold it.

First rifle, Winchester Model 60 from my grandfather. My dad took my brother and I over to buy two rifles from him (I think we each had $5 or $10.) We got there and he wouldn't sell them to us. I was devastated. He (grandfather) then told us if we put the money into our savings account he would give them to us. Still have it.

The first gun that I bought was a Hopkins and Allen minute man blackpowder rifle I ate peanut butter and jelly all year and finally got the last little bit of money by painting a guys house and bought it for 150 bucks I still have it. My next was an 870 shotgun I had to eat enough sandwiches to get half and my dad covered the rest got it for 175 at a pawn shop when I was around 14 I still use it every year. My first centerfire rifwas a sportsterised Smith Corona 30-06 that one started the trade up for better things. Ones I wish I didn't let go of include a model 29 44 mad early 80s mfg I bought for 200 and a ruger boat paddle 223 I actually traded the model 29 for. It's been a journey but fun and very educational.

My very first gun was a stevens 15y .22 single shot that my dads boss was giving away. No firing pin. I took that up to the boardimg achool l was attending in East Texas and my roomate traded me his single shot .45 blackpowder pistol for it. It was made in Jukar Spain. Remember those! Still have it. During my first year in collage l bought a model 94 made in 1914 for $145. I tuned 21 in 1992 and bought a Colt New Frontier .22 for $225 at a pawn shop then l bought a Ruger Blackhawk .45 shortly after that. Now l have real Colt SAAS and '73 and '92 winchesters and replicas of them. Bought my first new fangled pistol in 1994, a Colt 1911 .45. Series 70 made in 1982. Still have all those guns. Love collecting and shooting those guns. I also reload and cast my own bullets. I haven't bought a gun magazine in years, but l bought a lot of them in my youth. It is where l learned most of evrything l know and forgotten. I have almost all of them in plastic tubs. Articles from your dad, Mike Venturino and so many others helped shape me into the gun person l am today. I holpe your channel keeps growing!
