I learned that same lesson about the boots. I went to Philmont when I was in boy scouts and had a pretty new set of boots from a brand I had worn for a couple of pairs before. Had been pretty good boots so I thought I would be fine. But we hiked about a hundred miles in 2 weeks and in the very back part the boot developed an edge right under the heel of my foot that made a constant blister for many miserable miles. I learned to pack bandaids and moleskin on every trek after that. Even now I still love a good backpacking trek walking is one of the best modes of travel. I once read that spring moves north fifteen miles per day and eventually I want to see if it's true.
Another great video. I was working for Boeing back in the day. Had to relocate to the communist state of Washington. I had a 3-day weekend, so I was going on a Bar hunt that Saturday so drove up to the forks area, that Friday morning. parked off the side a bridge walked down a trail to the river. And fished a while, waiting on 3 men I usually camp and hunt/fish with. while I was fishing this black bar came up to the bank of the river trying to take the fish I had on stinger. About two hours later the guys showed up. me sitting on a rock fishing with a dead bar laying next me. everyone just stood there in disbelief, silent! when one guy asked what kind of bait you using to reel in the bar:) Two years later same scenario fishing same spot. another black bar came to the riverbanks trying to get the fish I caught. It was a huge black bar! so I shot it. thought I would have some fun. I had 30 minutes before the men showed up. I had super glue in my pack, I pinched the gunshot hole closed. cleaned up the blood around it, combed the fur around the hole so you couldn't see it, threw dirt around any blood on the ground. Then I took my tomahawk and hit the bar between his eyes, which didn't work because the skull was too hard. so, I hammered the tomahawk in with a rock. about 40 minutes later the men showed up just looking back and forth at the bar with a tomahawk in his head, and me drinking coffee, fishing. they all walk over two the bar, tried to pull the tomahawk out, they couldn't. One guy asked well what happened? I said, I just got plumb tired of these bars stealing my fish. The guys asked what gun I used? I said no gun, it's in my truck only had my tomahawk on me! moments later the gases in the bar, made it move and make noise. two greenhorn guys jumped back and shot the bar, with the same caliber I killed it with. so now there was no evidence. To this day they're not sure if I kilt the bar with a tommyhawk! Moral of the story don't take dogs or hike into the woods on a bar hunt. Just go fishing:)
@BrockNessMonster1991 Good morning. It is pronounced bear normally . But I'm from the mountains, we call them bar. We have a regular bar season there. Try using the word bar. See how it sounds. Have a great day!
Love the stories and gun talk! Recently there was a small bear that tore my Moms birdfeeder off its post about 10 at night. Dad goes out on porch to run it off , and then it returns, heading towards him. He only has his 380 in his pocket, not expecting their visitor that night. He shoots in front of it, and it leaves. I told him good thing you didn't shoot at it, it would just be mad and ready to fight.
Brian talking about his colt new frontier I have one like it but in 45 and in 2011 I joined a shooting league because it was cheaper than going down there to just shoot at the indoor range after work in the fall. I got tired of losing my 45acp brass and I had cast some Kieth 250 grain wad cutters with a original ideal mold so I took that 45 new frontier and started shooting league with it and to make the story shorter I won the league and the poker shoot with it and all the prizes with that colt
Both are good options! Dads usually a 44 mag person and Joe typically carries a S&W m&p 10mm bow hunting. The upside to the glock 20 or m&p 10mm is the higher capacity. 44 mag packs a big punch though.
We have had some excellent grip/stock makers retire or pass away in the past decade. So I'm not sure who to recommend. You might try Nutmeg sports in Connecticut. If you can't find their web address, let me know and I will get you a phone number. Thanks for watching.
They are very good revolvers. And caliber is a matter of what you want. Both are very capable calibers... especially with the right bullet choices for your needs
Winchester Model 70 or Favorite Bolt Actions.. Emphasis on Hunting 😉 You "Weird " Guys stay that way as mentilned already but might want to have a shovel or hip waders around the campfire. Those Ive been around "it" can get deep in a hurry..😉🤣
I woke up once to the noise of coyotes harassing elk with their caves. The elk gave as good and better than they got. Too dark for me to shoot. The lighter 22cal bullets really get pushed by wind. 243win carries better.
What a great family! Fun around the fire talking good times and guns...
Thank you!
You guys are becoming my favorite channel. Love the variety and family stories.🇺🇸

Pardon my ignorance but, Bar? Do you mean bear? 🐻

Winchester 70s or Favorite bolt action with emphasis on hunting.
That's a good idea! We will have to visit that topic in a future video
Good stories guys. Enjoy your week. 🇺🇲🌲🔥🔪
Thanks, you too!
Those Idaho black bears seem to be more aggressive than the ones in Wisconsin.
Yeah they sure can be... they normally aren't but can be unpredictable
I would love to hear each of your favorite deer cartridges in a video.
Good suggestion! We will visit that in the future
Would love to hear stories about guns you wish you didn't get rid of for whatever reason.
That's a good idea. We will do a video on that in the future. Thanks for watching
Great stories men. What are you thoughts on carrying a S&W 629 classic 5' in back country and or a Glock 20
Both are good options! Dads usually a 44 mag person and Joe typically carries a S&W m&p 10mm bow hunting. The upside to the glock 20 or m&p 10mm is the higher capacity. 44 mag packs a big punch though.
“Throw another log on the fire.”

Does your dad recommend any grip makers, I have some iron wood, but not enough for any mistakes.
Yeah!!! Me too.

I’m looking into buying a Ruger Blackhawk revolver question one are they decent revolvers question two should I go .357 or 45 colt

I’ve got to know what the heck Will is wearing on his wrists
He is weird and wears weights around his wrists and ankles
Need a video on the #5
We will definitely have one in the future
Brian, NEVER quit writing for WPC.
