ryanspears1986 Maynard is one of the best male vocalists and lyricists of all time and the way he used to move on stage in Tool is different on stage to what came before him. He’s harder to replace than any other member of the bands he is in. I don’t think there has ever been a better male vocalist in Rock than Maynard and he’s possibly the greatest known lyricist of all time hence the depth etc.
I think the vocals are way better on Eat the Elephant, and given the context of the song I think that might be more important, But yeah Freese would have made the rerecording even better.

There's a time and a place to be sad but it's not good to be sad all the time. And I agree, MJK's music does leave one somber. But it is far better to go through life joyous rather than depressed. And in that case, one might need to pluck out their right eye if it's making them feel that way, i.e., get rid of the music.

Hes sharing his mind with all of us. That isnt something you can rush. His music from any band is incredibly valuable to me and id rather wait if it means he comes out with awe inspiring things like this. Unlike many bands and musicians, he keeps coming out with music that is on par or better than his previous releases. Thats a rarity in and of itself.
