Thanks for this great video, I too 💙 almond horns. You don't see them anywhere in PA (I'm originally from Brooklyn). I actually spotted almond horns for the first time in Trader Joe's and they were pretty good but nothing beats homemade 💙!
Nicely done with a" snap "of a finger & a little magic --- and the taste is indescribably delicious !! Almonds are always yummy. I Enjoyed your presentation & music-- thanks!💞
I just have some almond horn from a local pastry shop while on vacation , but I want to make some at home your tutorial is so good and easy I can’t wait until I get home to make it, thank you.
The Donut Hole in Miramar Beach, Florida ( and Destin Florida) makes incredibly delicious Almond Horns. No almonds on the outside and large, but they don’t make very many and some days they don’t make any at all! 😱😢 I cant not wait to make these almond horns so I can have them all the time or give out as gifts! Thank you!
How do you adjust baking time for small "almond bites"? I love the idea of making these confections smaller than the traditional medium-large horn. I just don't know what to look for to tell if they are properly baked. Thanks!
The little bites have been a real hit. For doneness, look for some tanning of the cookie and color on the almonds. Baking time will only be a minute or so less. Would love to hear how they turn out for you.
I only have a 7 oz log of almond paste. Do you think the 1 oz less will mess up the recipe. Are these chewy and hard. Or, sort of Amaretti cookies texture. I got Almond Horns from Whole Foods. They were so hard and difficult to chew. Did not care for them. Thank you for the tutorial video.
Rashida Raza - leaving almond horns sit out for hours or days will make them stale and hard. These have a soft and tender inside packed with fresh almond flavor. With only 7 oz of almond paste, I’d suggest reducing the almond flour and sugar a bit. I’m not sure why some brands of almond paste are packaged in 7 oz vs 8 oz. Let us know how yours turn out.
I’ve never tried this recipe without the egg whites. A quick search on the internet for egg whites substitute for baking yields several alternatives. Good luck!

I appreciate the kind words. You can find almond horns here and there in an occasional deli or diner, but homemade is definitely best.

Yummy, I love the horns! You make it look so simple..thank you!!!
Pretty simple recipe!
I've been making something almost identical for years. Suggestion: a drop or 2 of almond extract, 1/4 tsp lemon zest.
Mmmm, the almond extract would only make them even better, for sure. The lemon zest is something I hadn't thought of -- will have to try it. Thanks!
can't wait to try this recipe ... What is the music in the background LOVE THAT>
Heavenly yum. Sounds like Leon Redbone but it’s not. Credit in the notes.
Perfect video, thanks!
🎉 Thank you

Can you freeze these cookies?
kimberly - yes, I've been able to freeze these without a problem. Wrap them tightly.
I like Leon Redbone in the backround.
Not really Leon Redbone but sure sounds like him??

Is it possible not to add egg whites to the almond paste - is it ok to eliminate the egg whites? Please let me know thank you.

Good luck!
Seems like not enough flour maybe?
Definitely the exact recipe I’ve been using for years. Others have shared good results.
I think gasoline stations would sell these, not any more!
That would have been a treat!
Thanks for the demo. Sound track is barely tolerable.
Glad you enjoyed the baking.
No vanilla no any flavor
All almond! The almond paste provides all the necessary flavor.
Gave up halfway through because of the super annoying music/singing/whistling noise....
Sorry it didn't suit your tastes, though the recipe itself is pretty delicious.
