I know these from Denmark and absolutely love them. I now live in the UK and occasionally find them in stores like Lidl and Aldi but they are of course nothing like the homemade ones. Can you tell me if they freeze well, or if that might affect the texture in a bad way please?
I wish I didn’t find this recipe, I’m about to seriously binge eat these and wash it down with nostalgia Edit: it’s all going straight to my thighs lol
Your almond flour looks so different then what I have in the USA, mine is just white. Is the German almond flour different or did you make it yourself.
I am in the US and bought this almond flour here in Texas. I can get the white almond flour, too, and it is suitable for this recipe. This is just a different version of almond flour, where the skin is still on. I could make this kind of almond flour by grinding whole almonds.
Thank you for your reply. I will make the recipe. I have store bought Odense Marzipan. Did not know Marzipan can be baked. The box states it is to be used to make candy.
I had my first almond horn from whole foods today and am ecststic to find this recipe! So good!

I have actually never tried to freeze them. I would try it with one and if it works, do it in the future with more of them.
@@MyGermanRecipes Thanks. The problem is that unless I make a giant batch I will not likely have a spare one to freeze 😂
Oh my word! They are great! I would love to send a picture! Also, a sample to see what you think.
You can post a picture on the mygerman.recipes facebook account in the comment of the post of this recipe.

@@MyGermanRecipes Thank you very much, will be trying these soon.
can i use almond paste instead of marzipan?
I haven‘t tried it but I guess it will work.
Hi, Thank you for the recipe. I want to make sure it is marzipan and not almond paste.
Yes, it‘s marzipan!
