omg, I'm only 6 minutes in & the mere thought of there not being a Garden Answer channel someday got me a bit overwhelmed. lol I've been watching you since the townhome backyard & all the succulent videos! I love the gardening encouragement! I went from a "black thumb" to a huge succulent & indoor plants collection thriving to a few outdoor plants surviving to planting a successful veggie garden the past 3 years to now also planting our own privacy hedge (108 shrubs!) and a mini fruit tree orchard! I would have never done any of that without your channel! There's NO OTHER CHANNEL that even comes close to yours, sorry other channels, but you know...💛
💯 I’ve said it before on here but I’m technically houseless.. I live with one sister (as I’ve been house hunting for two years but this market… 😵💫🙄) & I garden at my other sisters house down the street & around the corner. She thought I was nuts investing in the plants & compost & mulch & warned me she had given it up years ago and had no interest in maintaining or the upkeep of anything I planted but 3 years later things look beautiful & when I do find my own yard one day (hopefully 😥) I will take all the beautiful things I’ve planted with me. Oh- but I HAD to do it watching Laura & GA.. I just couldn’t keep watching without getting my hands in the earth. 😊♥️
I live in zone 4a Alberta, Canada and you got me curious about our frost line. Turns out our frost line is 10’ deep (we’re at the 53rd parallel north), and now I know why all of our homes have basements! Wow - I’m learning so much more than gardening from you both! Enjoy your day! 🌱🦋
Thanks for sharing. I, too, live in 4a South Dakota, USA. I was wondering how deep the frost line is here; but knew it was deeper than four feet. Ten feet is much deeper than I was expecting.
I sympathize with the kids and cats making it hard to wake up in the morning! It's actually really nice to hear someone who is super productive like you mentioning this.
I absolutely love this video! For some reason you and Aaron seems a lot closer in your marriage for some reason. I think that because we saw Aaron on the video more and you guys were interacting I actually love that because I could see how close you guys are in your relationship and your commitment to this business!
Aaron. You are SO MUCH MORE than a 'gardening channel'. You are a lifestyle channel. You are an inspirational channel. You are a motivational channel. How many of us start our day watching your video, getting our kick start to get moving. (Raising my hand, lol). I agree you need a vacation, but don't ever say you're 'just a gardening channel'. Also, I agree with Laura about covering yourself up when working outside. I always have on long pants, long sleeved shirts and boots when I work outside, but I wear white or light colors. Dark colors attract mosquitos and other biting insects whereas white tends to not attract them. As much as I love gardening, Georgia gardening can be a challenge because of heat, humidity and mosquitos/biting flies. My brother is always joking about inventing a type of moonsuit that I would wear that would protect me from all of it, yet be light and flexible enough to garden in, lol. Bet THAT would make some money...
I watchd this earlier in the morning between Sunday morning "naps" and I needed to come back to say that I can not imagine my mornings without Garden Answer. I know someday it will have to end (or at least go weekly) as we all age and move on to other areas of our lives. I hope, as your family grows and your garden is more mature, you will always remember those of us who consider you a part of our "circle of friends". Gardeners love to talk about gardening and love to share successes and failures. We love to "visit" other gardens. You and Aaron have touched so many lives through your videos. I think I can speak for so many of your fans. We applaud you, and wish you many many more years of success.
Vacation video ideas! Do a way back video recap just like you did at the church. Finish with a current view of the area. Also play some of your favorite oldies. Trust me….we’ll watch them over again!
Thanks for this! Your former home with 2 dwellings....we called that a duplex and so did our realtor and lender. But hey, call it what you want! Love your videos!
Their comments about clothing and the heat reminded me of what they told us when I was in the Peace Corps in India. We found that wearing long sleeves were actually cooler. We wore a very loose long sleeve top and drawstring pants. They allowed air to circulate and wick away the moisture.
Greetings, Laura & Aaron, from Windermere Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 My husband was an Irrigation Technician and said Big box stores sell commercial grade. The only difference was he got it "wholesale price" at the Irrigation Supply Store. I'm glad to hear you use Sunscreen. Here in Florida we cringe at the thought of Skin Cancer because of our year-round sun. Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍 💓
I am so happy that you are thinking of taking a vacation for yourselves. I know all of us will be right here when you come back. I and everyone here would be thrilled for you! you deserve it!
A fun type of short term vacation would be to run up or over to a hot springs for a weekend. We used to go over to Lolo MT in the winter because it was so fun to be able to swim in the warm water while it snowed.😊
I love that you two always do a reality check, the what ifs ❤️also how UA-cam is a business like having a garden shop . I think some of us think turn on a camera and boom your famous !😊it is a job thank you for all the work you have put into this ❤️❤️❤️GA is my best part of my day ❤️🌻🌻🌺🐝🪴🪴
Hello fellow gardeners. I garden in a zone 7a garden in Germany and kohlrabi is a German word, kohl means cabbage and rabi stands for beet or turnip. It's funny to hear that word in English. Happy gardening everyone. ❤️
Yes when you take a southern vacation during a cold month, you will be amazed how it shortens the winter. It is a game changer for older people with health problems or for those with high pressure jobs… for two examples
Those hollyhocks in that background behind Aaron are looking so lovely!! I know they are being attacked by spider mites but you would never know from this view!
Where I live, in the South, we tend to plant hydrangeas in the shade and they love it. I was shocked when I first started watching your videos and you’d mention to plant hydrangeas in FULL sun. I was like excuse me? No ma’am 😂 It’s so interesting (and fun!) to see how different areas do things completely different and still have similar results.
I live in the UK, much cooler climate than Laura and Aaron, and I would never even think about putting a hydrangea in full sun either. 🤣 Mine are just starting to bloom now and absolutely thrive in (mostly) full shade.
A fun idea, in reference to 'fast forwarding' to see what the South Garden trees will look like in the future: Aaron, can you photoshop some photographs and show the trees in their mature sizes? This would be delightful for all of us. All gardeners spend some of their time dreaming and envisioning what their gardens will look like in the future.
I cannot even express how much motivation I get through watching your videos! Yesterday was a hard long day in the garden catching up on an endless to do list after being gone. Listening to your weekly recaps while I worked kept me moving! If Laura and Aaron (and their crew) can do it on the scale they do, I can do too! Thank you for all you do!
While I'm transitioning between jobs I've adopted a split day schedule on hot days (Zone 7A in NJ) - get up early and take the dog out, do some outdoor work or workout ending around 10am. Then after lunch I'll take a nap during the hot part of the day and then go back out to get some work done once the back yard is in shade and its getting cooler (usually 5-6 pm). If I don't eat dinner until 9pm it doesn't matter since I won't be tired until closer to midnight after the nap.
Kind of like the siesta routine they do in Spain. I thought it was so smart to close stores and let everyone rest in the few hottest hours of the afternoon. Then at night, so many people go out, eat late, and stay up until midnight.
Japanese Beatles look like burnt orange lady bugs, correct? (That’s what I’ve always thought was a Japanese beatle ) I have Beatles on ALL my flowers this year and I don’t know what they are or what they are doing exactly.. the don’t look like Japanese beatles & all the damage on my plants are most likely from the dang earwigs that are ALSO on all of my plants & pots.. ugh.. first year with insect pressure & it’s stressing me out. I spray with Capt Jacks dead bug weekly.. maybe I should increase this ?
@@staceyallard2692 Japanese beetles don't look much like lady bugs. They are iridescent mix of purples and greens and hints of red. It's too bad they're so destructive and invasive instead of beneficial because they're pretty.
I think you have potential for being influencers outside the gardening world. People like your style and you could easily make videos about home renos, travel (especially if it included garden tours), etc. I would think your potential for videos of new projects in the space you have will come to an end in the next few years. We enjoy you and Aaron a lot, you’re relaxed, cool and interesting but understand that you may not want to share more of yourselves. But just know your UA-cam potential as well as IG is huge imo.
I love these highlight videos. It's like I'm hanging out with friends & just chatting. Both Laura & Aaron are so likeable & I love their give & take as they bounce ideas off each other. Thank you for being such a pleasant escape from the rest of the (often negative) UA-cam world. Sending much love & light to all! ❤️🌈 ❤️
I love your channel and I’ve learned a lot from You. I don’t want this to sound rude or anything but if I may, I would like to say that people who work in the fields ( like my parents did so I. An become a doctor) do not get accustomed to that heat; they just don’t complain about it. They did it out of necessity. It’s different than gardening as a hobby. I know when I’m out in the garden I must stop and come in the house bc the heat is just unbearable. Anyhow just wanted to point that out and was not meant to be mean at all and also would not like negative comments please. Well Laura continue the great show you have. I keep learning about plants from you all of the time. It’s my new hobby. God bless!
Laura I will say though, when you all shoot early morning videos it’s absolutely stunning. Early morning in the garden are many of our favorite times of the day. Heck, we would love to sit outside in ours drinking coffee, watching a video of you doing the same! Drinking morning coffee with Laura ☺️. That video last year in the early morning fog is one of my favorites.
I luv the honesty....."it's January we make the least amount of money in January it's a gardening channel" ye tell it like it is and that is why I love ye guys. No crap, just being real. I hope ye do take that vacation! I've been watching ye since right around the time ye moved from the town house. I still re-watch the old "new house" tour just to remember the transformation in your gardens....it is so inspiring. Can I ask why is it you never tell people to go back and watch such videos?
Yes! So happy to hear you are making time for yourselves and your kids and planning a Vacation! Just curious, is Benjamin starting Kindergarten this year or next?
Garden Answer loads up around 9:30pm where I live in Australia. We’ve had such a temperate winter so far that the leaves on many of my deciduous tress have only just coloured up, and my bulbs are popping up everywhere. It’s so hard because you always inspire me and I have to stop myself from buying any flowers at the moment as I know the frosts are coming.
I follow an Australian dahlia society on Instagram, and every winter I am inevitably really confused by the blooming dahlias until I realize it's the Aussie dahlias. 😂
I'm totally 100% behind you guys taking a vacation. Please do. I don't want you to burn yourselves out. Plus, you will be making memories with your babes.
Going to be a scorcher next week. It would be a great time to set up the flower shed! Putting all your vases in there to get ready for all of the cut flowers would be a great project. I can’t wait to see the flower shed! My big box don’t stock drip irrigation supplies in upstate NY I have to order things online.
@@audreyholt7721 thanks. Yes and I'm afraid that with this climate change we'll have to reconsider plants' needs in terms of sunlight. There are fewer and fewer plants that can tolerate a full sun situation where I live😔
Thanks to you and Aaron responding to my question. It's comforting to know that you do sometimes feel overwhelmed. I'll keep watching and loving all of the fascinating things y'all do.
Thank you both for these wonderful videos 😍 do take annual holidays, we have a seven day business and take 5 days each year, our adult children still love to join us in this tradition. Believe it or not things survive your absence 😜
For the zone question last week I might be able to clarify why it’s actually preferred by some growers and retailers to just put the lower zone. I was trained to garden by a horticulturist trained in California. A lot of the Proven Winners tags and tags in general are tailored to the Central and Eastern part of the US where there is summer rain and higher humidity and tropical conditions that just don’t really exist on the West Coast. This makes sense because that’s most of the country but it becomes trickier in California and the Western states in general. So when a tag says for zones 4 to zone 8 that’s for the East Coast where humidity plays in. When selling plants on the west coast, specifically California, it can be confusing to customers, especially new or novice gardeners, to see a garden centre putting out a plant that has an upper limit on the tag when that zone is below your growing zone. People would routinely question the horticulturist I trained with why he had plants that were only rated up to zone 7 or zone 8 when we are a zone 9 and explaining such a complicated topic nuanced topic of hardiness zones to a novice gardener just makes the whole upper limit, that most of the time doesn’t apply in California, more frustrating for garden centre staff with no real benefit. Also, from a plant physiology point of view, a good number of the plants that have an upper zone limit on their tag are only really limited by the upper zone on the eastern side of the country and not the western side. Traditional lilacs that supposedly only grow in zones colder than 7/8 grow perfectly well in my zone 9 Northern California. Peonies also grow perfectly fine even though they’re only rated up to a zone 8. I know of one bulb company that puts their zone limits with geographic specificity (something like Zone 3-7E,10W to indicate that it’s zone 3-7 on the eastern half of the country, but its hardy from 3-10 on the western half). In short, it’s really complicated, most tags are made for the humid summer rainfall climates, there’s no one way to account for the various microclimates of the West other than Sunset Western zones, but those aren’t really used anymore.
Thank you for this explanation! I grew up in California and have lived and gardened in western Oregon now for 30 years. This makes so much sense to me. I remember when I realized that “shade” planting in Oregon is very different from “shade” planting in CA because our sun is much less intense here than where I used to garden. Trial and error…and walking my neighborhood to see how plants behave in this area is the only way I’ve been able to figure out what works.
Thanks so much for that explanation! I hope people read it and don’t shy away d/t the length. Laura touched on it some time ago but not in such detail. Super helpful!
Just love watching y’all/you! Your really a hard worker, both of you! Also just have to say just love the way people tell you what you need to do. I’m in South Carolina and our summers are like being in Satins arm pit, HUMID and HOT. I assume y’all don’t have the humidity there we have, which makes me want to visit! Thank y’all for just being y’all and showing the fails as well as the success’s!!!!!
One request! If you go to Disneyland, I want to see Laura's reaction to the plants at Disneyland. Lol I live nearby and go often. I use Disneyland as an example of what I can push in my zone 10.
I love the recap videos and the little snippets of videos in the past. I’ve watched you from the very beginning and you’re still my most favorite UA-camr. It would be fun to see flashback videos of “on this day” so many years ago. I still love all the videos you did with the 3 urn challenge
Its 13:00 here in Spain when your videos go live and that is what I work towards throughout the morning, so I get to take a break, watch your videos and then go about the rest of my day. Love these recaps 🥰
@@joydaniel597 How kind of you, Joy! Thank you so much for letting me know 🤗 I have added you to my list of Blooms For You 😃 really appreciate your support. ❤️
I so enjoy all you do. An idea for videos for your vacation time: put together a compilation of before and after pictures/videos of previous footage set to music. It would be an inspirational video for say January.
Ron Jon Surfer Shop has a sun protection shirt that my hubby loves! Long sleeve sun protection and breathable fabric to prevent sweating. Bought some from Disney Springs in Orlando! Highly recommend!!
Frost question - The frost line for Minnesota is 80 inches, Wisconsin is 65ish inches. You can not dig once the ground freezes. Our houses have a special faucet attached to the house so that the water runs back inside to keep from freezing - you HAVE to disconnect the hose for them to work or you WILL have a broke pipe. How do I know that one? This Georgia Girl did not get a memo on this when I moved and yep... i had to replace the outside faucets. Each state should have a moving manual. :)
Here in SK we are zone 3b. We had to dig out our well in January 2021 as the pump went and could get it to 'quick release' it was expensive due to deep frost.
Was just about to type the 80" for northern MN in Zone 3a here where I am. We do not run water outside during the winter months. First frost is usually mid September, last frost is usually mid May. Temps can drop to -40 or lower during the winter months (actual temp, that is, don't ask about windchills, lol). Winters are tough, but we have such a love and appreciation for the green and growing summer months! :)
My favorite gardening show ever! One request...could Aaron start a composting process on the new property?? You have so many clippings to deal with and would be really great if you could do some videos on it...? Most of us have to depend on compost since the Land and Sea and the Starter plus is very hard to come by or afford. Love y'all and God bless!!❤
You are so right about not stretching yourself so thin you do not have enjoy the fruits of your labor. Having access to your parents pool is a win win! As beautiful as the arborvitae hedge is, it is just deer food here in SK! You should install drip or overhead sprinklers in the greenhouse! You do need to take a break/holiday it is healthy physically and mentally.
I’m on the east coast so 7:00am works perfectly for me as I’ve just finished with the gym and starting my morning & get to watch/listen to Garden Answer while I do chores before work!
I love watching you guys and look forward to your videos everyday. I’ve learned so much watching you. Today, I learned how to stake the leader in a tree that’s going off to one side, last week I learned about spider mites (which I have in my pots this year due to the heat) and I just love all the new varieties of plants and your knowledge of each of them. You always amaze me when you can call each variety by name. Your gardens are looking so beautiful and I love how you plant with a “drift”, so magical. I see all your hard work and appreciate you both so much! Hugs.
2-birds, one stone: You said you wanted a pond, get a recreation pond (Aquascape style) you can have a pond and a place for the family to get into the water without the expense of the upkeep of a pool! I live in zone 9a and we have to bury our waterlines 4 feet deep to ensure we get cold water during the summer. It rarely freezes, and then only for a night or two and warming up to the mid-40s or higher during the day. I lived a few blocks from where I am now and the pipes weren't buried as deep. We could use the cold water lines to take a short hot shower! My section of the community was built last, so I'm guessing they learned OR the law changed in between builds! I frequently get my days flipped, for example, it is 4:45 am and I haven't gone to sleep! I can tell you that trying to go to bed earlier doesn't work. Just force yourself to get up early. You will be sleep deprived for a while, but eventually, you will make the shift. Trust me, I've had to do this for years and I know it's the ONLY way it works!
I agree on the get up early and after a few days you’ll be ready to hit the hay a bit earlier. But I too like to stay up late- iPhone ringing , no interruptions- my ‘me ‘ time. I usually hit the hay about 11;00 and my dog tells me to get up at 5;30.
I was shocked to see Laura using gloves and a measuring tape when planting the arbs at the church!!! Who is this imposter?? 😀😀 The church landscape is looking wonderful. They must be very appreciative to have you both working so hard to create beauty for their congregation. I love working on others' gardens as well, as it gives me the feeling that I am passing along beauty for others to enjoy.
Laura, you always say, "I wish I could get a glimpse of the trees and the garden and what it would be in 5-10 years" and every time you say that I think I would never have imagined 5 years ago you would be planting so many trees and your gardens would be so different and so you. soo beautiful! I wish we could see the spaces as they were Vs as they are now. What a marvelous transformation. ofcourse it was lovely then too. But now, I think we all have grown so fond of watching all of you in your space. The day you don't put out a video I realise how much you have spoilt us.
Thank you for all your sharing about the ups and downs of gardening. I'm in the creating a first year garden mode and when I get discouraged at pics of lush landscapes and gardens I tell myself, first year sleep, second year creep and third year soar!!! On the bees, bee keepers are always looking for different locations to set up hives and will maintain them for you. They would love your orchard and south garden.
A field trip to a commercial farm nearby to watch them set up their immense drip system would be kinda cool to see. I live rural but there's not any big commercial growers here. Also in sw Missouri it's usually pretty rainy here so not much irrigation is needed.
Your fans would still be here if you took a two week break in the winter! Go for it! Making memories with your children is the most important thing. In the overall scheme of things children are only young for a short period of time. If you felt the need you could record some videos ahead of time to be released while you're on vacation. But again, making memories both big and small is one of the most important things to be doing while they are growing up.
We're in zone 4b in WI and my husband tells me we have to go down 5 feet for a frost free water line. Also, I see the hollyhocks live on and are beautiful behind Aaron. And finally, Samantha is such a hoot. You have to capture more of her delight as it brings such joy to the world.
I live in central standard time zone so I get to watch your videos while having my coffee and I can’t believe that someone would have the gall to ask you how you can afford something that is rude and what you do is no one’s business I watch your video’s everyday and it has never crossed my mind how you afford it I love watching the plants and trees being planted and growing and I wouldn’t worry about getting up earlier making yourself do something would turn it into a job you have the opportunity to do what you love when you want to so enjoy it 🌺
I have a hydrangea limelight that is in full shade under a fig tree in England and never gets any direct sun and is full of buds for blooms, it looks much healthier and has dark green leaves and very bushy
Wow, I keep losing concentration on what you are saying Laura because of those gorgeous Hollyhocks behind Aaron! Totally love your videos and recaps. Hope you know how much we appreciate you and Aaron’s hard work, your property has changed so much since The beginning. . .everything is so beautiful. Thank you!
Contact a local honey producer. They are usually more than happy to put bee hives out and to maintain them. Usually you both get some honey and they maintain the hives. A local honey producer would be ecstatic to put bees in a garden like yours..so much food for the bees. Coghill Farm on You tube did this...be sure to put landscape fabric under the hives. You do not want to mow or weed eat too close to the hives. The bees do not like the vibration is my understanding.
Check into Mason Bees. No sting, no work, and they pollinate early crops long before honey bees become active. Great way to teach kids that bees should not be feared.
I'm in Wisconsin and our water lines are 4 ft. below the ground also. We usually have enough snow to insulate the ground so the frost doesn't go down to 4 feet. In really cold winters with a lot of below zero temps and little to no snow, some people have to let their water drip in the house to keep it from freezing. That's also when municipalities will start having watermain breaks which are a pain!
The water also drains out of the pipe when you turn a frost free off. They have a little elbow that you attach at the bottom for the water to drain out of. They come in multiple lengths also, so if someone wanted or needed to, they could bury them deeper, or leave them sticking out of the ground even more so they are taller.
I keep thinking that you guys need another full-time person to help keep up with everything you have going. Someone else can help with the gardening, but you guys are the only folks who can be Mom and Dad! Love what you're doing.
ON SLEEP: My sister was always of the opinion that she could drink as much coffee as she wanted and whenever she wanted. She had to learn that that is not the case when she could not drink any for some time due to health reasons. Your body pretty much falls asleep because of exhaustion and not naturally when you're on caffein. Why am I saying this? Because I firmly believe that one should monitor their coffee (caffein) intake: volume and time!! The quality of your sleep and thus your life depends on good and deep sleep. We should do everything we can to achieve and protect it. I know that stopping and/or reducing the consumtion of coffee (caffein) seems hard and will take some time and dedication, but it is so worth it.
My husband and I are beekeepers and I bet you can get hooked up with a local bee club and find someone to set up an out yard on your property. He or she would look after the bees, but you could get the benefits of pollination and just having bees around in general.
I have tried growing roses in the past with no luck. The instructions on pruning, type of roses, etc has me excited to try again. Maybe a different spot in the garden. TX 8b. blistering summer heat here but 13 mature trees on 1/3 acre. I should be able to find roses 'happy place'. Thank you both for sharing your experiences and knowledge.
I love the Hollyhocks behind Aaron. What a charming view from your sunporch! I'm not an expert but I am from Minnesota. I looked up the frost line for my state: Northern counties: 5 feet (zones 2-3) Southern counties: 3.5 feet (zones 4-5). Oregon is 18 inches so you're good!!
Bees!! We have a local beekeeper here in Nyssa that we love!! At the end of the season we are paid a dozen quart jars of fresh honey!! They are always looking for more places to out bees..As of getting up early..you are a mom of young kiddos...your sleep is schedule is what you need. Im awake about 6-7 everymorning even after staying up till 2am..but come winter and dark hours..I have such a hard time getting up before 8 and usually in bed by 8pm..maybe my body is in a hibernation schedule...

A how to have a great marriage/partnership channel. Life goals: to emulate the loving kindness, and communicate as respectfully as Aaron and Laura.
I think I can speak for so many of your fans. We applaud you, and wish you many many more years of success.
In terms of the swimming pool, it's great to just go to your parents. They get to be with each other. A win-win!
Hi, it was nice to see Aaron participating, next time do little bit longer!😉 I like to hear his point of view and all he learned these year. Thanks
Oh, how I wish I could go back to those days when I had to be up with my small children (who are now 42 & 40). Enjoy!
Yes, but “loose” is the key word, so air can circulate. Always light colors, too.
I've found that fabric choices matter more than color choice. 100% polyester is way hotter than something with cotton or linen mixed in.
Greetings, Laura & Aaron, from Windermere Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
My husband was an Irrigation Technician and said Big box stores sell commercial grade.
I love that the videos hit so early in the morning. I get to watch them before going to work. Such a nice start to the day.
I love that the fountain can be heard in the background!
Yes when you take a southern vacation during a cold month, you will be amazed how it shortens the winter.
It is a game changer for older people with health problems or for those with high pressure jobs… for two examples
Yes! People just need down time. A chance to reset. The opportunity to physically and emotionally walk away from the everyday routine.
I live in the south and have hydrangeas in full sun and full shade. There are varieties that can handle full southern sun and heat.
@@robbsacredart yes! 😂
I felt the same way. My hydrangeas burn so quickly if they get too much sun.
I don’t think they even grow here in the Tampa area.
Those hollyhocks in the background are soooooo beautiful! Love to see you kept them!!!😁
It is such a joy to watch you and Aaron. You are like a breath of fresh air. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
Love seeing the hollyhocks behind Aaron in this video! Hoping someday mine will be as glorious!
Please please show a garden tour of your mom's garden again!!!
Benjamin would love a train trip. There are lots of options to look at. Something you sleep on the train.
Swiss cheese leaves on roses here in Missouri usually means Japanese beetles.
In Memphis TN too. I hate those darn beetles.
VA also. They like my hibiscus too.
Also here in central Ohio .... I just put out a Beetle trap sock and then keep an eye on my flowers .... !!!
Laura,
Have you done an update on your mother’s Butterfly garden?
Thank you for all you two do for your viewers.
Donna,
Oh my goodness!!!!! Those Hollyhocks are STUNNING behind Aaron.
I love your channel and I’ve learned a lot from
You. God bless!
I love watching the " L & A " show on Sunday . So thankful for the RECAP .👍🙏 Have an AWESOME DAY 💥💥💥💥💥
Loved watching these recaps, and now with the faint sound of the fountain….. lovely…
I’m loving the casual, podcast-style of this video!
Your right the fireworks in my neighborhood was crazy this year. 4 nights of it. 😳It became ridiculous.
Where do you order from?
My Annabelle and Limelight hydrangeas get 0 hours of sun and they're gorgeous. They grown under a thick pergola of wisteria. Zone 8, NW of Italy.
It sounds beautiful!
@@audreyholt7721 thanks. Yes and I'm afraid that with this climate change we'll have to reconsider plants' needs in terms of sunlight. There are fewer and fewer plants that can tolerate a full sun situation where I live😔
I think it's because of where you live. Everything is beautiful in Italy! 😄😍❤️
Hi Ash! That is a great, and very much appreciated explanation. Thank you so much for sharing!
Love getting up Sunday mornings to see the highlight video is up. Also, a Lavender video would be wonderful.
Hi those hollyhocks , which you haven’t cut down , look fabulous behind Aaron 🤩. Please don’t cut them down 🌸🌸🌸
I can't always catch your videos - but can I say I am soooo happpy that we get to see both of you now when you have a conversation.
Yes Laura and Aaron! I’m from Inverness, Fl z-9b…watch consistently each morning for years! Thank you!
I love the 7am drop time for your videos. I start my day with coffee and Garden Answer.
Yes on the east coast we look forward to your videos at 7am
One request!
If you go to Disneyland, I want to see Laura's reaction to the plants at Disneyland. Lol
I live nearby and go often.
Hi just so you know that I like to watch your videos about orchids care.
Agreed! It might also be a great time for viewer submission videos to let us all dream and plan for the coming spring. Fresh ideas for planters, etc.
I am going to visit my niece & grand niece in Boise. I will be there this coming week. Juuuuust in time for your triple digit temps! 👍🏼
I agree about the state manuals!
It's sad, but "back in the day" when you moved to a new state, your new neighbors would welcome you and fill you in on area "Need to Know" items.
Most of us have to depend on compost
since the Land and Sea and the Starter plus is very hard to come by or afford.
I was thinking the same thing about a natural pool/pond lol... I would love to have one myself 🙂
I was also thinking this! Swimming pond!
I do all my gardening first thing in the morning when it is coolest, and it is so nice!
You deserve nice family vacations. You will never regret the memories made. We will miss your posts but will be here when you get back.
We're in zone 4b in WI and my husband tells me we have to go down 5 feet for a frost free water line. Also, I see the hollyhocks live on and are beautiful behind Aaron. And finally, Samantha is such a hoot. You have to capture more of her delight as it brings such joy to the world.
I love that I can watch you while having my morning coffee. Great start to my day. It also inspires me to work in my garden.
I live in central standard time zone so I get to watch your videos while having my coffee and I can’t believe that someone would have the gall to ask you how you can afford something that is rude and what you do is no one’s business I watch your video’s everyday and it has never crossed my mind how you afford it I love watching the plants and trees being planted and growing and I wouldn’t worry about getting up earlier making yourself do something would turn it into a job you have the opportunity to do what you love when you want to so enjoy it 🌺
Amen!
Well said
Love everything you do and I have learned so much! After all it is a business…my husband always said “you’ve got to spend money to make money”!
I have a hydrangea limelight that is in full shade under a fig tree in England and never gets any direct sun and is full of buds for blooms, it looks much healthier and has dark green leaves and very bushy
Yes 7 am on the dot my phone goes off and it laura ...love waking up to your videos its so a great start to my day ..thank you for that
Wow, I keep losing concentration on what you are saying Laura because of those gorgeous Hollyhocks behind Aaron! Totally love your videos and recaps. Hope you know how much we appreciate you and Aaron’s hard work, your property has changed so much since The beginning. . .everything is so beautiful. Thank you!
Personal woes keeps it real. We don't mind hearing how things Really go!
In Northern MN our frost line is 6’ down and, we still get some years where things freeze
We did that when we were ranching. It was perfect, and the best of both worlds!
I do enjoy the recaps. Glad you do these. Thanks and have a blessed day.
Yes, there are machines that will lay the sheets of mulch with drip lines underneath, or drip lines alone, etc.
Take the vacation and enjoy family time. Thank you for the videos. They are a huge enjoyment! I get so many ideas!
The water also drains out of the pipe when you turn a frost free off. They have a little elbow that you attach at the bottom for the water to drain out of. They come in multiple lengths also, so if someone wanted or needed to, they could bury them deeper, or leave them sticking out of the ground even more so they are taller.
Thanks for this information 👍.
I keep thinking that you guys need another full-time person to help keep up with everything you have going. Someone else can help with the gardening, but you guys are the only folks who can be Mom and Dad! Love what you're doing.
ON SLEEP:
My sister was always of the opinion that she could drink as much coffee as she wanted and whenever she wanted.
Thank you for all your hard work!
We have frost free "drain back" hydrants. I live in Canada, zone 3. Ours are in the ground 6 ft.
Your videos hit where I live at 6am Central Time. I always watch my last hour of work. Im a 3rd shifter and it gives me something to look forward to.
I believe it depends on the material also. Cotton is lighter, where polyester blend is hotter.
