I will never understand why some people find every opportunity to make rude, hurtful and unkind comments. These young people are smart, hardworking and kind. They put out some of the best gardening content on the internet. They have earned their success and more! Sending them nothing but good wishes and blessings.
Who says stuff like “your hair is looking rough.”? Seriously! I should send in a pic of me gardening in the morning. I don’t even wash my face or comb my hair. I’m just worried about getting things done before the heat comes. Laura, YOU ALWAYS LOOK FABULOUS!!!
Yesterday, it felt like 105 degrees with 88% humidity, I soaked my clothes in sweat and was covered in dirt and SPF after 2 hours. Good Lord, gardening is dirty work!
I cannot imagine what my neighbors think. I am up early and usually just race outside to putter in the gardens while it is still cool. My hair looks like bozo the clown and i am pretty sure i am wearing a combination of pajama bottoms and work out shirts. Laura looks amazing in EVERY video - especially compared to me! Tending to our gardens is a passion that brings a sense of relaxation and the last thing I want to think about is trying to stay glamourous while doing it. Kudos to Laura, a mom, wife and darn hard worker. That comment says more about the commenter than anyone else.
Aaron and Laura, I love how graciously you react/comment to “negative” comments. Very classy! You both just kind of roll with it and you never retaliate to the negative comments. I really appreciate that! I’ve had just a few negative comments on my small channel and I want to follow your example. Thank you!
Can't wait for the q&a with your mom, would love to hear words of wisdom from your dad as well, and what the heck, throw in Monica too cuz she's a hoot!
Wouldn’t it be great if the purple fountain grass could be developed into a perennial!! I love them. I don’t understand why people almost accuse y’all of being opulent when you’re doing this for our entertainment and learning opportunity. I would get disinterested if you were showing us the same flower bed or yard every video. Thank you for taking on so much because that means we are learning so much! God bless you’re family!!!
Yes her dad will actually say it how it is. I have respect for your dad. He worked two jobs just so you could take piano lessons.. You are super lucky and don't even know it. Your dad worked much harder in all aspects.. He probably doesn't approve of your way of making a living.. Easy way out.. And stop buying land when you can't even take care of the property you have now, without help from Paul and his sister.

Love how you guys stay so positive. I always feel like someone is criticizing my own kids when you read negative comments. Lol I always think, “what’s wrong with that person?” I live by the adage, if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all. Can’t wait to see your mom’s interview and would love to see your dad also.
I love the idea of the Q&A with your parents but I also think that Q&A with other experts could be very interesting. For example some of the companies you work with talking about how they develop the new varieties of plants, trends they see in gardening, gardening landscapers, careers in gardening agriculture, soil etc. I think a few sprinkled here and there could be very interesting.
hahaha best reply Laura - " your personality is kinda rough " and I totally agree with Aaron those sweet potato vines are just gorgeous !! I love how Aaron helps you along once in a while as you pause for the right word ... supportive partnership , bless you all ! Have really enjoyed Russel accompanying you in the early morning tour, specially the patch of the kids garden with the corn maze :)

I would have struggled to be that kind. I’m impressed with your restraint! Unbelievable how rude people can be. Blessings to you and your family.
Not to mention, Laura has the best hair on UA-cam!!! The gall of some ppl!!! And the comment about her gardens being too tidy or not natural enough or whatever ridiculous thing it was!! That one made me pretty upset! All the work they’ve done and THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! Just wait 3-5 years… I can only imagine how glorious everything will look!

I absolutely adore your gardens! You’ve worked you’re way up to the degree of land and garden that you have, and brought us along the way. I find you inspiring and motivating and appreciate all I learn in all the ways you have taken this channel to the level it is. You’re true garden goals level for me and show that someone can make a living doing something they love with hard work, determination and effort. And while that “expensive” part is a scale others might be jealous of, that expensive aspect is put into the benefit of the channel and for gardeners to learn from. I wish people took they’re own jealousy as a sign of their desire to do more, and be motivated from it rather than negatively comment thinking someone had some leg up, when it’s very obvious a lot of time and attention went into studying, and applying all you’ve learned over the years with back breaking work, bringing us along to share with the time to film, time to edit… your efforts for your beautiful spaces are appreciated by the majority. One day I will have a large expensive garden because I watched hard workers like your channel that I appreciated. One becomes their own best version by learning from others strengths, and competing with themselves, not from competing with others. When I am doing what I love as a living I will attribute gratitude to those at levels I aspired to get to that I never knew I could attain. Thank you for all you do everyday for your channel.
You guys are awesome! Aaron got so much more comfortable in front of the camera, I love it! Being part of your conversation is like being part of the family😍😍🤗🤗💜💗🤗
It would be great to have a q and a w your Dad as well. Soil is such a critical part of the garden and pesticide/herbicide management is the icing on the cake so please bring him on!!
YESSSS! I love you all! Bring on Dad too! Can't wait to see the video with your mom. 80's here in St Louis next week! I'm inside with my iced coffee and my friend Laura while the grass is being cut. Don't feel guilty not outside helping. I did my garden chores last night so I could watch your video in peace. LOL
Aw, PLEASE don’t edit your Dad TOO heavily! He is such a fun character. So looking forward to your Mum and your Dad. I’m not a gardener but they will be such fun videos for getting know them both a little better. Great idea, thank you!
I assume they switched away from Lakota as a trademark because the Lakota people are a branch of Sioux Native Americans.. hard to trademark the name for a plant when it’s existed for thousands of years already. Pretty bold move to begin with! Glad to see the switch.
I sure would feel guilty if you offered flowers over the fence but Boy! Would I Love It...... some painters here I gave water and frozen water out for them to grab at their convenience, they all got me flowers from the grocery store. I was soooo surprised. Talk about making my day. It sure made it plus.
Your garden is perfectly imperfect. Crazy comment as the biggest thing you've taught me is Just do it, doesn't have to be perfect or planned. Love your work.
I know you have said before that you do not use the zone system to much anymore because you have help now but for new people watching your channel I think it is good for you to mention it from time to time. I have a large area to garden and kind of worked on one section at a time but when you shared your zoning system it made me more focused on working on one zone at a time instead of jumping from one garden to another. It has been a game changer for me! I'm so thankful you share so many helpful gardening tips! Because of you my gardening is easier and my gardens so much better. It is a joy to watch your channel and I watch it every day even when I'm not sure it is on something I need because I never know when you are going to throw something out that will be helpful and make me a better gardener. Thank you so much!
Many of us need more low-water, drought tolerant plants but still want something pretty. With water restrictions in some areas and gradually raising temps, MANY of us will need to shift to plants that can handle that. Could you do a video on this topic?
I grew up in the suburbs of L.A. and many of us were planting drought tolerant plants in the 70s. Now I'm in France near Paris and the last 2 Summers especially, seem like that SoCal climate.
This would be really helpful. Our city sent a notice out for this weekend to limit watering because the ground is getting so hot that when many people run water (which is cold) the pipes are bursting all over the city.
I agree wholeheartedly about the color blocking in your area with the annuals. I’m always trying to find blue flowers. And sweet potato vines are a passion of mine. They do well EVERYWHERE! Sun, shade, take the heat, I just LOVE them. 💚💚💚
Hi Laura I watch your videos daily your content is so positive and informative and I enjoy watching how well you and Arron compliment each other when doing your recaps! Can’t wait to watch the video with your Mom would also love to see a q&a with your Dad hoping you might do a spotlight on perennials and annuals that thrive in clay soil
Laura does not have clay soil. She has said on past videos she really doesn't have experience with clay soil. There is a channel she has recommended for info on heating the high tunnels and they garden in clay soil. I believe it is Gardening with Creekside. They have a garden center and do videos. I hope that helps.
I like the way you roll with those negative comments. It’s hard dealing with assumptions, especially when they are wrong! You have resilience, which is one of the reasons I enjoy your vids.
Thank you for the recap! Can’t wait to see the Q & A with your mom !! I miss her and I hope she’s feeling better! What a rotten thing to have happen this time of year! That’s a dead of winter time accident and situation to have! Esp for a gardener & someone who makes a living out of the growing season! Anyway, hope she’s on the mend & I look forward to it!!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼😊♥️
Love the Sunday morning recap with my coffee!! What's up with the hair comment??!! Who says that?? Come on!!!! LOL You looked lovely , as usual!!! Love watching your family and home grow and flourish!!
I love lavender. In terms of bang for your bucks, it’s hard to go past it. It never stops flowering, and if you prune it hard every year it looks great for years 💖
Laura, I love your poise and grace to some less than normal comments. I can't help but wonder what in the world some people really think. You guys are so great together with these recap videos and I always learn from you both. Thank-you for giving us all so much!!!
Your zingers to people who post rude comments are one of my favorite parts about these week-in-review videos. I love that you call them out. You have an awesome channel, and I appreciate all the content, knowledge, and beauty you share.
Yes for a Q&A with your dad. I’d like to hear about his experiences as a business owner. Please ask him what his advice is for retaining good employees ( who aren’t family members😁)
Yes! Excited to see the Q&A with your Mom! Your Dad and Monica would be an extra treat also...work on them! 😍 Love your family and all the knowledge and real life day to day you share! Love how you and Aaron compliment each other and the classy way you handle negativity, kudos to both! I was chuckling about your "bed hair" cause that is me early morning tending to gardening needs before the sun comes up! The critters and plants are happy to see me so that is all that matters.🤣 Thank you for keeping it real, enjoyed the highlights! Enjoy your Sunday with your loves! 💞
Love your zoning system. With only myself working in the garden, it has made my work load much lighter. I now have time to spend enjoying my gardens. Next spring, I'm moving plants around. Placed plants which don't need water and fertilizer in with plants which want lots of water. I've learned soooo much about plant needs from your channel.
Looking forward to the q&a with your mom! Have you thought of doing one with Paul and Bethany? Also please update us on your process with the pineapple plant. Very curious! Happy Sunday!
1000 kudos to you and Arron for making the family time a priority, can be hard to accomplish, but you and your kids will be forever grateful for doing it.
🌸You always make my lunch period at work sooooooo much better, Laura and Aaron and GA friends. Can’t wait to see your dear mom, Laura, and I agree with everyone here who said “Yes! Bring on Dad and how about Monica”! I’d also LOVE to meet Aaron’s parents - I just know they are a lovely couple, too! Thank you for sharing the beauty in garden life and your own. Enjoy a great week everyone 🌻👏🏻🌼
“Your personality is rough.” Perfect response to that silly comment. I’m always sooo envious of your gorgeous hair and that you can garden with it down. Sadly, I’m a hat and ponytail girl.
Because of your video where you mentioned the bug zapper I bought one for our yard and I couldn’t be more pleased. We live in Va. and mosquitos are terrible. Don’t know why we didn’t do that sooner. Thanks for showing that.
Sounds great! Please ignore negative comments. I can see why people disable comments! Keep using your God given talents! It brings joy and blessings to us!
Yes, please! I would love to see an interview with your dad. Your descriptions of him are intriguing. Sounds like he would have great information to share.
NASA nerd here: I know they're using go pros on Mars right now and have some headed up with Artemis at the end of the month. To my knowledge, all of those are being used on the exterior of the vehicles and are exposed to space/thin atmospheres. It might be worth diving into some NASA discussion boards to see what they're doing for thermal control on those.
Thank-you in advance for planting more plants that can naturally thrive in your climate. I watch your channel to learn how to garden in my similar climate. I love all your content and knowledge. It is helping so much!!!
Hi Laura and Aaron! Love watching you guys, you are such a hoot and so cute together. I can't wait for your mom's video, she is such a sweetheart! Have a good day!
Hidcote grows amazingly in zone 4a &4b. I’m zone 4b and have Hidcote hedges. They survive the four foot of frozen snow for 8months straight. 👍🏻 Highly recommended.
Same here in 5b. I always add a cup or two of pea gravel in the bottom of the planting hole…they hate wet feet especially in winter. Also, they do well next to sidewalks, since it’s gravel underneath. Maybe a ph thing too.
You guys are so funny when you tell us about how you spend some family time watering in the evening and yeah Samantha eats dirt. I laughed so hard. You both say it like it normal for Samantha to do it. Lol
@@sheilastromberger2275 no I don’t have ig, but I will check into it. I do watch all her videos on u tube. Everyday for the past four years love Laura and Aaron and Laura’s mom. Gotta love them they are so real and down to earth.
I planted my first bulbs last fall and it was nice in the spring to see some colors. Thank you Laura for showing all of us how to garden and create beauty spots in our yards.
Maybe a nicer way to ask about “natural” plants is - what native plants grow in your area? For instance, where I am in Louisiana, we have a native plant group that does “this for that” charts so if you want a flowering shrub if you plant XXX shrub it’s a native Louisiana plant. I’d be interested to learn what plants are native to such a different environment (to me!) as yours!
I’d like to offer some advice…on the dead tree near the grass clippings pile. Sounds like you’re wanting to keep that area natural so if you were to remove the dead, you’d also be removing a home for the natural habitat and order of things in that area. It would definitely be an eyesore in your beautiful kept property, but over there, it works for things unseen. It’s a home for thousands of necessary critters and to take that home away because it seems ugly to you doesn’t seem quite right.
@rewbew I agree, or it it's too worrisome to have in the vids, trim it down. I keep an old, 8-years dead 6 foot bush skeleton in my front yard and hang garden decs from it.
Re: the comment about Laura’s hair. Lady, when I’m done gardening for the day I literally need to be hosed off. Laura looks like an absolute vision. Tell me you don’t garden without telling me you don’t garden. 😂
I love watching your videos and seeing what you grow in your dry hot climate. I live in Scotland and we have very changeable weather. I hope your mother's ankle is better. Love to you and your family. Xx
Love 💜 your channels & they are a great delight ☘🍁🍂Glad to hear your mom is doing well . 👍👍👍 Looking forward your MOM ' S VIDEO 😀 May your day be blessed with Joy , Peace & 💖 ❤ 🧡
👋🌞Good Sunday morning, Laura and Aaron! Looking forward to the Q&A with your Mother! 🤗Definitely game for a Q&A with your Father, too!🤗 I'm with Aaron; since he said your Father is a wild card, it will be fun. Never know what to expect... 😂🤣 That video about top 7 types of Lavendar was amazing! It just made me feel calm, seeing the different types. Plus, seeing you and your Mother, kneeling in the field, gathering Lavendar was so special! That was a fun video. You mentioned freezing your strawberries 🍓 🍓, in response to the question about your favorite sweet 🍓🍓 plants; how many freezers do you 2 have? You must need several to accommodate all of your harvests. I am VERY VERY HAPPY to hear that your weekends are reserved for family time!!!! Family time is very special and such a MUST, when you have young children. Keep that tradition going.😍🥰 Another great highlights video. Thank you both!!!! Have a Blessed and Beautiful day/night 🌞/🌜🌐 everyone! Kimberley F in Avondale, Arizona USA 🇺🇸 (Zone 9b) 🌞🌵💞
Yay we finally got rain. The rain God's heard you on video recap and let loose. One day of rest from watering for me I will take it. Thank you Laura and Aaron
Good morning, Laura and Aaron, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸 Hot and humid August here. Just trying to keep weeds from taking over and planning our Fall Garden 🍅 Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾👍
I searched out The Quiet American Gardener documentary on UA-cam. It was very good. I had never heard about him. Had heard of his garden at Hidcote, but didn’t realize the original owner and designer of the garden was an ex-pat American. You learn something everyday! ❤️😊
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a tour of the greenhouse, The good, bad, and ugly. ❤️ I learn from everything you do and would love to know what’s going on in there.
Feel like Laura got a bit disheartened when she read one mean- spirited question. The battle they're fighting is with themselves, not you. Just a lot of miserable people out there. You are a God send to so many. Keep shining, you are a bright star to us.
Yes please for the interview with your dad!!!! What trees cultivars are his recommendations for the garden? What trees does he suggest to avoid due to high maintenance or difficult to care for? You mentioned in the past he knows a lot about the seed business, why does that mean?
I look forward to meeting your dad. I know he's popped into a couple vlogs in the past but not really long enough to get to know him like we have with your mom. This should be fun!
We have 4 super big pots situated around our property, and we do purple fountain grass in the middle, purple and green potato vine on each side plus Sunpations…. They grow all season from spring to fall and look fabulous …🙌
Love how you roll with negative and rude comments, others can learn from that. Can’t wait for Q&A with mom, 🙏for her recovery, too many ankle surgeries to count so know how it goes.
Hi Laura I’ve been fighting spider mites also this year more than I the past. In the Central Valley, Ca with the high heat and severe lack of rain we’ve had I transitioned to succulents which is a challenge and cactus. I have been battling spider mites with my yuccas. I used a systemic from Monterey Brand their insect control. It worked really well and I saved a special yucca. I’m a believer! I will be using this product each year. I also use Sluggo plus for snails & slugs and it’s animal safe. Love to pass on things that work. So enjoy your videos. Without you I wouldn’t have recognized spider mite damage. Thank you so much!

Many of us need more low-water, drought tolerant plants but still want something pretty. With water restrictions in some areas and gradually raising temps, MANY of us will need to shift to plants that can handle that. Could you do a video on this topic?
A video on water-wise pretty plants, preferably perennial, would be great!
Yes my small tiny area is surrounded by my front porch facing west very hot very dry zone 7 b .
I’d love a video with your dad. Dads are so wise and give practical advice. Mine has been gone 25 years , but it seems like yesterday.
I agree wholeheartedly about the color blocking in your area with the annuals. I’m always trying to find blue flowers. And sweet potato vines are a passion of mine. They do well EVERYWHERE! Sun, shade, take the heat, I just LOVE them. 💚💚💚
I would love to see a video of your dad answering garden questions and any other questions for that matter! And yes… please do another with your mom!
Great to have the chance to hear from your Mom an Dad - what a world of experience and knowledge. I can’t wait to see those videos.
Loved the response to the “naturalness” 😂 Gave me a good giggle.
Lol I thought just drive by any vacant lot for naturalized growth. Maintained gardens are a blessing for us to see.
Definitely more Q&A's! Your dad, Aaron's parents, other garden UA-camrs, folks from Proven Winners, etc.
Can't wait for the Q&A with your mom, love her! I also miss your antiquing trips with her. For sure bring dad into the mix.
Laura is so right. Seeds, and grow lights can save you money. Plus I love watching them grow I get so excited!!!!!!!!
I watch Garden answers everyday for the past few months. How did I not know about this channel 😱😱
“Your personality is kinda rough Shelly!” Lol 😂
Looking forward to the q&a with your mom! Have you thought of doing one with Paul and Bethany?
Also please update us on your process with the pineapple plant. Very curious! Happy Sunday!
I would love a Q&A with your dad. There are so many different things with fertilizers, sprays than there used to be. It would be very interesting!
Good morning, Laura & Aaron ☕️ Great recap and really looking forward to the video with your mom! Hope she’s healing well. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
“Your personality is rough.”
Perfect response to that silly comment. I’m always sooo envious of your gorgeous hair and that you can garden with it down. Sadly,
I’m a hat and ponytail girl.
Yes! You’re parents are great and raised wonderful children
Highly recommended.
I will have to try some I have munstead lavender and it survived my zone 4 winter. We don’t get as much snow but it a a little covering all winter.
Lol
Do you follow her on IG? She posted a hilarious video of Samantha eating dirt yesterday.
@@sheilastromberger2275 no I don’t have ig, but I will check into it. I do watch all her videos on u tube. Everyday for the past four years love Laura and Aaron and Laura’s mom. Gotta love them they are so real and down to earth.
you two are amazing with ALL comments, but AMAZING with the snarky negative ones...BLESS YOU!!!1 Happy people vs not
I planted my first bulbs last fall and it was nice in the spring to see some colors.
I am sure there is tons of other places for them to relocate 😃
Xx
Looking forward to seeing your mom - still sending good healing vibes to her! 👍👏
That video about top 7 types of Lavendar was amazing!
Keep that tradition going.😍🥰
Another great highlights video.
Hi! What a gorgeous picture you've on your profile 😘. Just decided to stop by and say hi!!! I hope my compliment is appreciated :-)
Can't wait for the Q&A with your mom. Please do one with your dad!
Good morning, Laura and Aaron, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
Hot and humid August here. Just trying to keep weeds from taking over and planning our Fall Garden 🍅
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾👍
If I was younger I’d love to have Bethany’s job , a dream job I would think !
I searched out The Quiet American Gardener documentary on UA-cam. It was very good. I had never heard about him. Had heard of his garden at Hidcote, but didn’t realize the original owner and designer of the garden was an ex-pat American. You learn something everyday! ❤️😊
Love it! Dry and brown. Thank you for all the tips, you are so gracious to offer your free advice. My gardening ideas get better.
Yes to a Q&A with your Dad!
Giggles and grins an unedited dad would be such fun(wild card)
Good morning you guy's!!! Great recap today and can't wait to see the video with your dad... Have a great week, see you tomorrow!!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
So excited about your Mom’s Q&A. Can’t wait. Love y’all.
Hi! You've a gorgeous picture on your profile! Just decided to stop by and say hi! I hope you my compliment is appreciated ☺️
🙌🏻epic response about your bed hair! You cracked me up!😁lololol
Can't wait to watch the question answer with your mom! I think a video with your dad would be great! Would love to learn from him.
Yes please for the interview with your dad!!!! What trees cultivars are his recommendations for the garden? What trees does he suggest to avoid due to high maintenance or difficult to care for? You mentioned in the past he knows a lot about the seed business, why does that mean?
I’d love to see a video on the differences in roses -tea, hybrid, grandiflora etc. similar to the lavender video.
Great idea 💡
YES
I look forward to meeting your dad. I know he's popped into a couple vlogs in the past but not really long enough to get to know him like we have with your mom. This should be fun!
Hi! You've a gorgeous picture on your profile! Just decided to stop by and say hi! I hope you my compliment is appreciated ☺️
Look how excited Aaron gets about the “big ol’ road grater “ lmao.
We have 4 super big pots situated around our property, and we do purple fountain grass in the middle, purple and green potato vine on each side plus Sunpations…. They grow all season from spring to fall and look fabulous …🙌
I am having such a time with scorch on hosta leaves this year hot and dry.
Love how you roll with negative and rude comments, others can learn from that. Can’t wait for Q&A with mom, 🙏for her recovery, too many ankle surgeries to count so know how it goes.
Hi Laura
I’ve been fighting spider mites also this year more than I the past.
I lost all my 🌹
YES! Do a q&a with your dad. Oh that would be so fun to watch.
