Please Laura don’t feel that you have to explain yourself all the time. You do what you want. There are people that will complain no matter what you do.
Yes, there is a difference between explaining and justifying. You do not have to justify your choices to us who view your videos. If comments are making you feel defensive, I say ignore them.
Laura, honestly when you removed the triangle hedge in the back garden I was so excited I was out of my chair! I have watched you for several years, and every time you passed by the triangle, I was like, that design is not like Laura's boxwoods. I love the softness of your gardens, and the sharp points of the triangles needed to be taken out and have your own personality added in that area. Can't wait to see what you do with the space!
I’m at the beginning of the video but I have to tell you you don’t ever ever have to explain yourself to the people who subscribe I love everything that you do. It is your space and we gather inspiration from everything you do yes it is sad when a plant needs to be torn out but as you have told us and have taught me, things can be replanted. Your vision can only get there with sacrifices. Laura, although you were such a huge influencer you never need to apologize for anything.❤️
Firstly, LOVE the outfit, but even more love your honesty and presenting yourself as who you are!!!!!!!! We are all here because you inspire us, our cheers are louder than anyone's jeers; and there will always be others who don't have the nicest things to say, ignore them. You've helped me transform my bindweed riddled backyard and I am forever grateful! Thank you Laura!!!!!
Laura, you look absolutely beautiful in your white and brown top snd brown/gold jacket! ❤️ Those are your colors with your hair. Always enjoy you and Aaron on these videos. Thank you for sharing your gardens with us. Have an awesome day! May God continue to bless you in all things.❤️
I think it is great that you have added Aaron to some of your videos. The two of you seem to work so well together. Your children are adorable !! Could listen to Benjamin forever ! He is such a little champ.
Laura, you looked so pretty in your white pull-over. And your hair always looks good. I love how Aaron praises you. Wonderful Q and A today. Your enthusiasm is contagious. However my “lawn needs mowed.” Haha
I always laugh to myself when Laura recommends a product, if the business is not expecting it they are going to wonder why there’s a sudden huge demand. They need a heads up I reckon! Aaron and Laura, you make a great team everywhere 😊
As a MasterGardener I have tried to explain to people about the life limits of plants. Foundation plants, at some point, must be removed and replaced. They are not forever.
Understanding this has helped me pull the plug on waning plants much faster. If they are nearing the end of their life cycle- they are not going to get lusher. Pull and move on.
Love the recap videos. So educational, but the wonderful interaction between you both is fun to watch. You truly complement each other beautifully. I so enjoy this channel and it has inspired many a garden, craft project over the past year since I’ve found it.
To answer your question about the bees - most native bees are ground dwelling and solitary so you’re unlikely to notice where they “go”. Honey bees do form social colonies and are either in a managed hive maintained by people or, if they’ve swarmed, in a hallow of a tree up pretty darn high. You’ll usually only notice a feral hive when they in turn swarm because the bees will form a large clump near the original hive while they prepare to fly off. Love your videos!! ❤
I can't imagine life without your channel. I've learned sooooo much, and love the family bits the most! I hope this channel will be prosperous for you for many years to come. 💚❤💚❤💚❤💚❤
I would love to see Laura’s hair curly! I would die for naturally curly hair! My hair is so straight. It’s funny how we always want what we don’t have :))
For the person dealing with squirrels eating bulbs…try Bonide ( purple swoosh label so it’s organic) Repels All. I get a bunch of squirrels in my yard (zone 6b) and I added to each hole when planting bulbs. The squirrels left them alone.
I love that Arron mentioned the Bee movie, I love that! You should get the movie for your kids..it teaches the value of Bees and who doesn’t love Jerry Seinfeld! And dare I say you could be a L’Oréal girl with your gorgeous hair.
@@trisharay3572 i love caramel too! Caramel is one of my colors and I'm on the lookout for it in every season. It's fall here and I'm seeing it more than ever before. Some search terms to use for the color are caramel, English/British khaki, tobacco, toffee, tan, and sometimes camel (although I've learned that true camel is actually more of a heathered camel or a warmish beige).
You are so patient with critics. Laura and Aaron, you and your crew do a great job with your videos. You content and editing are amazing. An occasional mistake is inevitable but yours are few and far between. Thank you for hard work!
I watch your weekly Q&As regularly. I'm dying to learn how "Garden Answer" works behind the camera. You and Aaron are the "talent," but who shoots video, edits, writes descriptions, posts, finds questions, etc.? Do you have a team you work with, or are you really a jack-of-all-trades power duo? P.S. love the show.
I love that you are teaching me that I shouldn’t live with something because it’s there and just make do or try to make it work. Remove the ugly, the hated, and the not you. Start fresh and build what you love. Thank you!
That formal boxwood circle in the back garden was so hard to rip out because it was a garden in itself as was the triangle, so your hesitancy was understandable. But everything within view sight of the house should always be made exactly to your liking. The joy once done will be a balm to the soul. I've never regretted re-dos when/where needed. Can't wait to see the results & how you'll use it!
I love that Aaron’s eyes light up when you talk about Christmas lights! Thanks for the recaps of the week-sometimes I miss something and the questions and answers are so helpful.
Laura... doesn't wear gloves. Professional bulb stabber and poop fruit eater!!! 😂😂😂 Love how Aaron talks about her hair and how good she is at things! They are a great team and those two littles... precious. 💛
…time trying to convince people you are not doing anything wrong by pulling a plant. And when I heard the comment of why do you eat those berries before you washed them!! This blows my mind…the simple pleasure of standing by my blueberry bushes and popping berries in my mouth as fast as I can pick. I sometimes see my neighbor standing on her side eating her blueberry breakfast..I smile knowing she saying “Yum Yum”..
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my hose links. The oldest one was a couple of years old and did not retract anymore. I contacted the company; they sent me a new one at no charge. Amazing service!
🌻 Laura, I bet your hair looks gorgeous when curly. Your husband seems to really like it that way. I would love to see your hair the way it looks naturally.
I would love to see Laura return to her natural hair color. It looks great but when I look at the older videos, I really like the brunette look on her.
I did see it curly in OLD videos like your wedding I think. But as a curly person I know straighter is easier if you are not pinning it back. Either way looks great.!
Laura I love how you are down to earth and just you. Stabbing the bulb and eating fruit poop Lol. Rubbing the fruit on your shirt cleans the fruit poop off..in my world haha.
I really appreciate your discussion regarding clearing out the back garden. It is hard to remove established bushes etc., but when we bite the bullet and make changes it’s fun to see what the new plants and perspective can look like. It is your property and you get to do whatever you think is best. You’re very kind and considerate to people who are worried about it or critical. That’s why we enjoy you and Aaron and your discussions.
I love how Aaron’s eyes just light up (pun intended) when taking about the light show. Will be watching with my grandkids and can’t wait for that video!!

'Love that you were talking about bees! Feral honey bees can live in any type of hollow structure, whether it be a tree trunk, a barn wall, a chimney, etc. They could also be coming from neighbors with bees - bees travel up to 4 miles in any direction, or up to 50 square miles. So they could come from quite a distance to visit your gardens!
Last year I outsmarted the squirrels here in the suburbs. I now only plant tulip bulbs in raised beds and I'm ok with that. Last fall I purchased brown (so it blends well with nature) ballerina tulle from the fabric store. There is not a high demand for brown tulle and it was on clearance for like .17 a yard. I placed/fastened them over the raised beds which gave the tulips plenty of room to do their thing over fall and winter. In spring when the tulips needed more height I removed the tulle and the squirrels had already found other food sources (neighbors bulbs!) I'll be repeating this year with the tulle I saved from last year.
Hose Link; my story: Bought two early last year for Christmas presents so they did not get opened until after Christmas. My Son’s was fine it when we set ours up, it was broken. I contacted Hose Link and within a week they had sent out a new one and said to not return the broken one, to use what we could of it. Wow. We were impressed with the company. I would never have purchased something like this without seeing how well they have performed for you.
Squirrels and bulbs - I sprinkle Bonide’s Repels All over the dirt or mulch after I plant new tulip bulbs. A lot of people in my area have problems with squirrels digging tulips, but I haven’t had problems. It must work!
I discovered your channel a few years ago when we moved into our new home. I love witnessing how much change your home and family has done, and continues to grow. For selfish reasons, I pray y'all never have a talk show as it would detract from the intimacy between y'all and your followers/subscribers. Y'all are a blessing!
You both are such an influential part of my gardening, (I’m so looking forward to Spring to see all of the bulbs and beautiful trees you’ve planted) I’ve just begun a new planting project (clean slate) to match my newly updated homes exterior, hopefully it will fill in as beautifully as your space! Thank you both for all that you share ❤
Good morning everyone!! And might I say Laura, you are looking extra beautiful this morning… Something about that sweater and jacket…. Just beautiful!! ☺️
Laura, Thank you for explaining a bit about breeding & improvement of grain. (Any grain is improved the same manner as corn.) Research stations work hard to come up with safe, and dependable varieties for farmers to grow more efficiently. As farmers in southern Minnesota, if Corn & Soybean varieties were what they were 50 years ago, we would not be farming! The cost would be to high. I like to see people understand how improving plant varieties is essential to producing their food. It is a factor with every crop we produce. Organic farming is a blissful dream, but not practical for a massive percentage of farmers. Less then 1% of the nation's population farms. We simply don't have the money to pay bills by spraying crops, cultivating fields to control weeds and pests. Breeding better plants is the logical alternative. We can plant a crop, watch it grow in whatever conditions, without cultivation, insecticides or pesticides in most years. Reducing labor costs helps our bottom line, and the environment. 25 years ago Eagles started to return to our area. Now there is an abundance of eagles, and other birds, like Swans and wildlife. We also finish hogs. Their manure is incorporated from our pits into our fields, and has cut commercial fertilizer in half. We feed most of our corn to the hogs. The soybeans are a mix of cash crop and for feed. I could go on and on about the efficiency of modern farmers. I mostly wanted to praise you & acknowledge you for sharing some truth about plant development. Thanks to both you & Aaron. L love your show! I was born in Ontario. I lived on a farm in New Plymouth, moved to Payette, Boise, Arco, and a few other places that aren't found on the map. Your show, feels like I am closer to home. Keep up the good work!
Awww cmon Aaron…..I bought my house 18 years ago because of a family with baby squirrels that came down and visited with me while I was walking through the yard! One of them climbed up onto my shoulder and we were all in shock! He climbed down and I picked a dandelion flower which he took from me and ate! I stood up, held out my hand and said SOLD!! I fell in love with them and feed them every year!! Never been bit! They are darling little fuzzy kids and they are so so smart!! Please reconsider!!
I love your hair anyway you choose to do it! Also the caramel color jacket your wearing in this recap video is a beautiful color on you Laura! Wear whatever you want and we will all still love you! I was raised by 2 teachers and my mom was a English major. Talk about hearing grammar police all the time! Lol …. Hearing “I seen” crates on me! Have a wonderful day everyone!
Though I like black like you do your sweatshirt & coat showcase your hair, and Wow, your ocean blue eyes are just gorgeous…just like your garden, and your family. God has blessed you and yours 👍❤️.
Squirrel Repellent Ideas: - applying green onion tops over the bulbs before burying (the smell detracts them) - covering the planted area with netting or mesh - not using bulb fertilizer: the smell attracts them - making sure there are pumpkins and sunflower heads around for them to eat
I laughed so hard when you said, '.....just stab the crap out of it!" So funny. I've had the same feeling. I love that you and Aaron are so real. Thank you.
We have lots of squirrels and read to put grit/sharp pebbles around the bulbs. We put some in the holes and some in the fill. They donot like digging through that. We have been doing this for several years, and it has worked!
I'm with you Laura, smaller holes is my jam but my Mum on the other hand would rather labour digging a big hole because she is an instant impact person. I love to patiently watch my plants and trees grow x 🌼🌼🌼😇🙏🇦🇺🌼🌼🌼🕊️
Thank you for my Sunday morning entertainment. The knowledge, the humor and the less than polite comments. Your channel is a huge part of my life and My gardens have been taken to, (in the words of Eugene Struthers from Mad T.V) A whole nuver lebble! Thanks
People who have straight hair, almost always want a wave or curl to the hair. Having lived with curly hair, gone to bed with damp hair, and woken up with hair from another planet, I understand completely the hair issue. Cut mine short many years ago, and then it pretty much doesn’t matter, with a hat, what it looks like. When you garden in heat, in the South, every day, hair goes on the back burner.
Your hair always looks beautiful! I think the way you do it on a regular basis suits you so well - it's elegant but not overstated, feminine and pretty, but it looks so natural/organic. I love it. I think some people just love doing their hair and if they have hair that is relatively "manageable" than they can get away with many different styles, but for the rest of us (I also have hair that air dries a bit of a combination of curly/wavy/poofy), you find something that works and stick with it :) I will admit, though, I would not be averse to seeing a "day in the life" of Laura from start to finish that includes how you do your hair because I can never get mine to look that nice.
Good team? You make an AWESOME TEAM!!! I often think about your team dynamics and it mingling with home life. It is a great example of everything good in my books. I know there are good days and bad days like every body else. Lots of compromising and agreeing to disagree and go on about your day for the greater good. Just have fun!
Funny how things and words can trigger memories of years gone past. You mentioning the butcher knife took me right back ~ 50 years, when I was a child on our family farm. I can still picture the old butcher knife that was a staple in my parents’ (got that grammar right! 😄) trove of garden tools. Year after year it was used for this and that. I can clearly see it.
I use an old butcher knife (sharpened by me!) For many garden jobs. Works great for popping out dandelions, and edging bricks that run alongside the patio!
LAURA,you are “GORGEOUS “ …that color is so your color….I hope this will be short and concise, but I have a lot to comment…serrated knives are one of the best garden tools …when cutting down day Lillie’s or daffs ..jus hold like a bouquet and one big wack does it…don’t you just love when people keep you grammatically correct 😜. Mine is when people say “anyways” or add “right” & ok after EVERY SENTENCE….AINT IT TRUTH ..RIGHT🤪 Your garden is beautiful and you and Aaron are the perfect match. You don’t have to explain your “grammar “ ….your down to earth and make us all feel included. Love what you do ,all elegant and beautiful 🥰🙏
You two are hilarious sometimes, watching this channel is so entertaining and enlightening. I still miss the mail time when you received new products from suppliers, not the personal items.
Laura, that white shirt & camel colored jacket look beautiful on you! So used to seeing you in black but that jacket brings out your gorgeous highlights! 🤍🤍
Thank you Laura and Aaron!! Love all of your gardening videos and family!!Regarding the grammar gremlins, my biggest pet peeve is the over use of the word “like”!! People insert the word “like” in just about every spoken sentence, which has become an unnecessary habit. In fact, I even catch myself saying “like” all too often!!🪴💚
Rock pathways! Its like doing a jigsaw puzzle without a picture. I wish you could just lay your rocks out, scan them and have the computer suggest an arrangement! There should be an app for that!
I’m sorry you hate your curly hair. I love to see it on other people and I love that mine has gotten curlier since I’ve gotten older. Maybe one day you’ll be able to embrace yours. And rock it!
A tip from the Skagit Valley. When tulip growers have a flower of the wrong color, they pull the stem straight up to clear the center of the bulb. This bulb then dies and the grower won't have an odd color bloom in a package of bulbs. Great channel guys!
I love the interaction between you and Aaron. I bust out laughing to at least one of your comments in these highlight videos. Stab those unwanted bulbs! 🌷
In 2022 I broke my ankle and had surgery and like your mother, it is hard going from being busy to sitting. I was thankful whenI found your FB page and watched daily. Gave me so many great ideas for my garden.
Regarding the Hose link, I too, on your recommendation bought a Hose link this past spring. Before I purchased mine I inquired if I would be able to attach one of my current hoses to the Hose link (I needed more then the 82’) and you can do this but you should order a Hose link adapter to connect the Hose link to yours. Works like a charm. Ordering 2 more Hose links for next spring planting👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
What about saving the bowls (even the large cracked one) and making them into flower pots. You could put them on their pedestals to raise them up or just sit them on a patio. They would make beautiful pots for succulents.
I love everything you guys do there and I wanted to say if you ever want to try curling your hair again use the L'ange rotating iron! It does all the work for you. Kind of like the augers we use 😄💁🏼♀️
I just got the L’ange rotating iron for birthday:) I’m still learning how to use it & think I will start wearing the glove that came with it because I’ve burnt myself a few times, lol. It gets so hot but I think I’m going to love it! :)

Laura, I love love love the color of clothes you’re wearing. Matches perfectly with your hair. You’re gorgeous.
Have fun with your path!
Laura,
Thank you for explaining a bit about breeding & improvement of grain.
I LOVE mine and feed them and they NEVER bother my plants or bulbs.😘❤
I love your hair anyway you choose to do it! Also the caramel color jacket your wearing in this recap video is a beautiful color on you Laura! Wear whatever you want and we will all still love you! I was raised by 2 teachers and my mom was a English major. Talk about hearing grammar police all the time! Lol …. Hearing “I seen” crates on me! Have a wonderful day everyone!
Another one for me is when Laura says, "I've got . . . ".
@@BS-j1965 Ummm.....grates.
@@YSLRD thank you my bad🤪🤪🤪🤪
Though I like black like you do your sweatshirt & coat showcase your hair, and Wow, your ocean blue eyes are just gorgeous…just like your garden, and your family. God has blessed you and yours 👍❤️.
Squirrel Repellent Ideas:
- applying green onion tops over the bulbs before burying (the smell detracts them)
- covering the planted area with netting or mesh
- not using bulb fertilizer: the smell attracts them
- making sure there are pumpkins and sunflower heads around for them to eat
Good morning from Delaware GA friends.
Can’t wait to see Aaron’s new revised Christmas light show for this year! It’s always stunning. Love your channel.
I love your honesty in not advertising products you don't use!
Shout out to Monica helping mom!
I love trimming! It makes everything look so tidy and finished. My dad always said trimming makes the yard.
“I don’t wear gloves and I eat the poop fruit.” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 You absolutely cracked me up with that response!
You know you’re building a good ecosystem on your property when you see more squirrels, birds, bees and so on!💕
I’m
Laughing and fully entertained with the banter between you snd Arron and the overthinking that happens with so many situations 🤣!!
Give Aaron curly hair look coupons for Christmas; He looked like he loves your curls.
I think its interesting that people think that when they 'rinse' their produce, they are really doing much to rid it of impurities.
I use a long serrated knife to sever annoying roots when digging
I tried to find the comment under the first video asking about plugs. Farmers Bailey is a great source for the public to buy plugs!
You compliment one another very well. Yes, a GREAT TEAM!
Rock pathways! Its like doing a jigsaw puzzle without a picture. I wish you could just lay your rocks out, scan them and have the computer suggest an arrangement! There should be an app for that!
Great chat!! 😊 had me cracking up a few times! 😂 Excited to see the video of the stone walkway!
a video about how to winter a fountain would honestly be a great video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My hair is naturally curly and I hate it. Everyone else loves it when I leave it curly, but I just don’t feel confident that way. Laura, you do you!
You are so motivating for me to get things accomplished in and outside the house! SUCH ENERGY!
About the citrus strainer at 22:45, you could go to a Mexican market and get one for about 2 bucks. We’ve been using those forever
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
Good evening everyone 💙
Laura, you amaze me! This video was posted an hour ago, it’s 830 am where I am right now and you have had almost 5000 views!
Wow! You’re wearing something other than black! Looks good!
Your enthusiasm, creative and amazing staying power never wains. What a wonderful example for all types of gardeners!!!!!!
