I recently got this truck, I am a Normal 23 yr old, don’t do much of towing . I am on the 3,700 miles in and it’s a great truck I love it , so comfortable to ride with the family and so much space, love your reviews on the truck and thanks for the updates appreciate you man
Congratulations my friend. I hope it brings your family a million memories. Be sure to check out our Travel videos as well. Thanks for helping us grow the channel. Safe travels
I have the identical truck, including color. This truck fills a niche. I drive 30,000 miles per year, and the affordability allows me to keep my commuter car, and still have this for hunting & pulling enclosed motorcycle trailer, and basically driving on the weekends. I take it on the 90 mile round trip to work a half dozen times per month. Bed cover improves gas mileage. Looking at what I needed would have sent me in the Ridgeline direction, but I couldn't go there. The 2.7 turbo is quick and effortless. It's easy to spin those tires, and you can't even notice pulling a good size trailer. In the low rpm's, it feels like a diesel. Almost feels like you're lugging the engine. I should mention that I leased this truck (3 year 45k), and really don't intend to buy it. I have serious concerns about how long the engine/turbo/transmission will last, and didn't want to risk owning out of warranty. I think Chevy was smart with the Custom product line ("affordable" by stripping out all the options that you can live without, like home link garage door opener, power seats, seat heaters, dual climate control, etc.). If you want better sound, Chevy accessories lists a Kicker audio upgrade package, complete with amp and sub that mounts under back seat ( amp is bolted to back wall of cab). There are a few installation vids going around. This will sound stupid, but my biggest complaint is that stupid oil plug! No threads, just a quarter turn and the engine oil drops like it was shot out of a fire hose! Stupidest thing I've seen, but at least it's pointed straight down, I think Ford's is pointed horizontal? Please, keep posting reviews at milestone intervals, maybe every 10k? Keep including your son. You guys seem to be very reasonable, and your thoughts reflect what might be important to the majority of Owners.
I agree, This fit my exact needs, but allows for lightweight adventures. We just did a beach vacation and it was great. 20.7 mpg. As for the oil plug, yeah... Not sure the thought there. Strange. So far, so good. It gets alot of looks to. Impossible to keep clean though. Lol
Your tow is actually 9100lbs. I have the same truck and loving it!!! Still doing some research on trying to lift it and changing the wheels and tires, but thanks for the content keep it up!!!!
@@PC2Channel when I first got the truck I was also under the impression it towed around 6k. GM initially introduced this package in 2019 and their tow rating was around 6k. Upon further research and actually looking at my door sticker I found out for the 2021 they upped it to 9100.
You are correct, they changed it a few months after they introduced this truck. I think they were originally concerned with the cooling when towing, but they've discovered it can handle the larger load just fine.
OK, found your new channel here, instantly subscribed, you have my support in all your endeavors.. Good luck with this one guys, could be fun..... as always... Love from Amsterdam.
I am nearing 10K and so far I can't really complain. Outside of normal personal preferences like anybody. But for the price point and what I was wanting, it so far has not been a regretted choice. We should have another video out soon. If you do pull the trigger, Congratulations! Stay in touch
I have same exact truck and found fuel mileage suffers at 70 to 75 mph vs light cruise on 50 mph roadways will get you up to 23 mpg.My tank fill avg fuel economy is 21 plus mpg
Great Review. My dad current owns a 2019 5.3l RST. With the current computer chip shortage in the US, I've been looking into a Custom 2.7l like this one. I usually tow low weight loads, mainly for work. But that torque will come in handy. Also on the fuel mileage, I've noticed on the highway, the 5.3l gets better mileage mainly cause of the cylinder deactivation. But some people tell me the 2.7l can go above EPA rating if you just drive it on cruise control. BTW- Good you bought the 4 cylinder cause the V8's this year have been having bent pushrod problems. Hope this 4 cylinder will last you awhile, which it probably will.
I read that about the V8's. So far so good. We are about to stretch her legs this next week. Vacationing and we do alot of driving. This one fit my needs, so we shall see. Most of my day to day is anything but highway and averaging 18.9 mpg. Still amazed at the torque.
To do that, it would need to bypass the CBU. In the past you could snip a wire. Not sure on the 2021. I imagine still the same. 98mph is and if I'm not mistaken has been the threshold for awhile. I've not looked into it.
That looks like a 2012 truck inside! And for gas, prices in Europe does make you want one that does 40-50 and when have a diesel at least 65-70 mpg. My 1st SUV does 25 though with a 3L V6 and my other one about 50 with a 1,2L V4 .. but that's a 510hp to 140 hp difference.
Yes, GM really needs to step up the interior game alot. It's covered in Plastic. I'm most impressed as of today with just how Peppy she is with a 4 Cylinder in a Full size truck. (Still makes me scratch my head) The first 500 miles we drove Cities, Backroads, Mountains, and all the gas consuming miles we could, with a few short Highway stints and at the end it Averaged 19.6 MPG. Currently Reg Grade Fuel is $2.98 in NC. We are heading to the Coast in a week or so and will see what we avg on that 4 Hour Hwy ride. All together, it serves the purpose I was looking for within the budget I had set for a new truck. 42K. For now, I am at least happy with it.
@@PC2Channel sure, it's a great car for there. It's just impossible to get here and well, useless to buy here anyway with the size, road taxes per weight and gas prices 3x higher.
I don't like the redicuilus 30psi oil pressure very low in my opinion, should be 40 Psi at highway speeds.the only time it goes up is on cold start up or under hard throttle 3000 rpm and up
The rule of thumb back in the day was you needed 10psi oil pressure for every 1000RPM. Have personally has 3x GM Cars with 4 cylinder turbos and variable pressure oil pumps, I drive them like I stole them and have no issues at all. Traded the last 2 at 100k, current car has 75k and plan to keep to 150k this time.
Gotcha! Hey, swanky truck! Large and in charge! So...what kind of sound system? I see you have Elvis radio! Um...how about some Springsteen? As a Canadian, I have to ask; can you heat the seats? Cuz that's awful nice on chilly mornings.
Mine says it has a tow capacity of 9,000 lbs in have searched and every video says everyone has 7,500? Can I tie close to 9,000? Or is there something I’m missing
Actually the 2021 has a Towing capacity for the 2.7L Turbo of 9,600 LBS. The 2022 2.7L Turbo is all over the board I'm seeing everything from 7,000 to 9,600. This is nuts. What year model do you have?
@@jeremysimpson1432 Of course I don't have any heavy hauling, but if I did. I'm sure I would not max it out. I would think 9K would be good. Less steep inclines the better.. LOL
It is. You will see it elevate as you work the engine harder as normal, but these new trucks operate at a lower oil pressure. Mine is typically around 40. It's a bit weird to see it, but normal
Greetings..got another question. I don't have automatic side mirror to fold. How do I manually fold the side mirror. I don't want to force to fold it if I'm not suppose to. Thanks

Any way to take the speed limiter off? Mine gets to 98mph and doesn't accelerate anymore. I've been searching for answers but found none.
