Kapalbhati is Hyperventilation indeed. Hyperventilation should not be used before a dive as it could lead to a Black out. However Hyperventilation is a tool we use during dry training for many reasons. In the case of Kapalbhati, it clears the sinuses, and help to strengthen the diaphragm.
