Hey there, I have a Sovereign mower with the SV150 Engine, when its running it makes like a “Putting” noise now & again when its running. I have adjusted the idle screw but it has to run really quick to stop the “Putting” noise. Just wondering if you could advise what would cause the “Putting” noise? Thanks great videos, very helpful

Mines only working on choke, then dies. Fitted new carb too. Any ideas?
excellent video thank you. Within just a few minutes I learnt how to check that the carb is set correctly when at the choke position. Could you add a short video of how to set up the governor springs etc when putting the carb back on. Can't find a picture or explanation antwhere

@@MowerMan You're a star ! Hi thanks for your prompt response. I have a Champion 40 SV150 which will only run on choke and cuts out immediately when taken off choke. I found one of your videos that mentions a tiny spring on the throttle butterfly shaft and sure enough the spring is missing on mine so it constantly oscillates between idle and full throttle. I'll order up a replacement carb Thank you

@@MowerMan No, when you get a "loud pop" from the engine every so often. I had an sv150 that did it last year. Didn't seem to affect the use of the mower but I had no idea what caused it or how to stop it?
@@Aled... most back firing is due to the key way being out of time as it does not spark on time giving too much fuel in the cylinder

@@MowerMan I've seen the conversion kits but they are not worth it unless you intend keeping the mower. I've just come in from the shed, took tank and starter off a separate tank one, there are differences to the engine case but a few mods and brackets and spacers and it will work. I might do a vid.
Mine's the same revving uo and down....... absolute crap. Give me an old Briggs and stratton mower anyday!!
