I started playing Sovl a bit yesterday, and so far have 2 victories with the undead, though the last one was a nailbiter.
Some dwarves saved on 2+, making it really difficult to get through it all.
Yeah, I think Dwarfs might be the worst match-up for the undead. Being slow isn't a disadvantage when you're fighting zombies so they don't really have an easy weakness to exploit anymore!

Did the dwarves bring beer? Do they have a secret foot fetish and you are "helping" your allies? That tree had you covered for sure.

you definitely can still destroy some factions with spells, its just that you chose possibly the strongest faction against spells, the dwarfs. they have spell resist on all of their units, and really high armor. also foot of gork is only 33% armor piercing damage out of 48.
You’re missing the point slightly. I’m already taking all that into account, and in fact it’s irrelevant since I’m basing my observation on the units overall health. Previously a unit having taken that proportion of their health in explosion damage will have lost models. The game spreads the damage more consistently than it used to so it doesn’t result in as many models being killed from that amount of their total health being missing.
