idea for campain objectives take all the dwarf or formerly dwarf montain holds for example gundabad, kazad' dum, northern ered luin mountains, dains halls and of course goblin town
I say to defend Khazadum you should base it entirely off of your two artillery pieces the ballista and the flam wrangler. To hold the dwarves in place I suggest having one pure melee unit and fill the rest with your faction leader and a horde of snaga skirmishers because you'll need the ranged units to hold until the Ballista and flame wrangler ammo runs out or the timer runs out.
@@epmtotalwar I think that holding them at the bridge would be best because the Ballista can kill them effectively. The usual troops are managable, but the real issue are three units the two dragon slayer units(the normal unit and I think one of the generals have a bodyguard of dragon slayers) and Balin's guard as well as the two or three tier two units. I say that for optimum performance you should limit the amount of units being killed. The dwarves are only killing five or six goblins at the bridge, but could be fighting 10 or twleve goblins at a time allowing them to kill off units faster at one time.
Hahahaha, I love the start of this one. I agree with everything you said so far. It's a shame, bc the Orcs could be much more fun to play as with some updated stronger units. There is a MOD update for DAC that has a ton of extra units added (some from the "Reforged" mod -- it adds a ton of flavor to a good bit of the factions) -- this is important to make each faction more fun & have interest.
@jessel8833 I don't like the EUR mod, it removes vunerabilities which removes uniqueness of factions. I think all the factions are well balanced for units. It is more that as the human player you can't really do the Goblin swarm thing as intended.
It was smart to neutralize the high elves. I have a feeling you're gonna do some diplomatic shenanigans to keep war on one side of the misty mountains.
Xbows, MO Hunters, and Halberds and Wargs of all sizes will be your saviors in this one. I'm sure you will get things sorted out and excited to see how the first 80 turns go.
This episode felt like the Enedwaith guerrilla war against Isengard but with even worse troops. I was expecting you to start rich and be able to spam away but I suppose roving bands of gobbos picking off small enemy stacks is thematic.
I think once you get over your initial disgust and survive the dwarf attack you will find the goblins a fun campaign. with just a little economy, some calv and a LOT of meat shields you will be able to take a lot of land and just swarm enemies.
@@epmtotalwar, you have multiple armies on the field and have only built 1 economic building. Once you have all those unions you can spam out so many terrible units
definitely hold east against the elves once the dwarves are dealt with (ballistae ruin them on the bridge). then its an idea to get the best garrison building, then build up your archery range to get get crossbows to shoot the elves while the garrison holds them in place on the bridge so you can shoot the clusters
So I remember you talking about a diplomat in your way. You can kill them, just surround every tile, and have a unit march to their tile so they have no movement. Unless info again, it's a waste of movement unless you want to kill all the wizards as a evil faction
You have a chance to hold cameth brin, when a city rebels usually population dies as well, maybe it needs just that small umpgh for the population to lower for it to be easier to hold.
Maybe Warg pack is skilled against mounts because in theory they're biting the horses...and the riders...have a rider, and thus the warg mount doesnt bite but the gobbo just stabs? IDK.... lolol
i hope you will play with them like they play as AI allways so attacking everybody around you sooner or later :) i dont remember when i see last time somebody play as Moria so this will be interesting to watch...
Impossible to play as the AI, this is discussed at length in the video. If I could spam out units like they can, I would. In terms of betrayals, I sense there may be some of them at some point.
@BeregondFirstCaptain I don't think so, I don't remember having to defeat a defilers unit early bit I could be misremembering. Based on how other factions start it would be entirely in keeping with the mod to give him defilers. A single high tier unit to give you a taste of the late game.

Also, you're commenting on the AI's troops lasting much longer than you morale-wise. Isn't that like, the only difference in this era of Total War? I know for a fact in Rome, the higher difficulty AI get large morale boosts as the only notable difference. Later TW games, they changed it so that instead of just increasing the morale when increasing the difficulty, they also made the AI better (that's a lie, the AI isn't improved in any way, they just made it even worse on lower difficulties). Oh, and boosting literally every stat rather than just morale, but difficulty totally should mean that anyway, right?.... Right? (I'm joking if that isn't clear, nothing pisses me off more than AI just getting cheats to increase the difficulty rather than yknow, making a decent damn AI to challenge the player fairly. Looking at you Civilization).
I don't mind the moral boost, I think that is probably the only 'fair' ai cheat, but when wargs who supposedly scare horses can be fully surrounding a merchant cav who has terrible morale and the army is only led by a captain and those merchant cav almost fight to the last man there is a problem with that particular warg interaction. Just another reason for the evil spam factions to feel weaker in the hands of the player.

I’ve seen one playthrough with Moria on AGO and it was rough. You play smart and in my opinion have had a great first episode. Fun to watch!

@tropicthunder131 just have to force them to split up, give them some tasty snaga to get tempted by and have your warg centred army ready to pounce.

Yeah, I know you can do this, they auto move out of the way when moving troops so no real point, just if you want to remove that pesky Radagast.

Maybe it's just something I've never understood and camels (wargs) have never had a bonus and only scare. I really thought they had a bonus.

Currently doing a goblin campaign myself. I’m thinking about quitting or restarting because I’m just not having fun with it lol
I think if you don't get off to a good start it could get very unfun very fast. There is potential I think for some enjoyment.

In 4.6, didn't the warg general start with Defilers? Him just having wargs seems like a nerf for a faction that just plain sucks to play.
