I don't think it was communicated well, but around 30:30 when you were engaging the Dwarfs you noticed that your saves were lower - I think that was because you exchanged shields for a second hand weapon, hence having a worse save, not because the dwarfs were more able to overcome your defence

Fyi, the +50% to loot for elite battles DOESN’T apply to the loot you take instead of replenishment from each troop. The +50% honestly only seems to apply to the amount you get for winning the battle, that’s it, but it pre-calculates. So if it says you won 111g from the battle “+50%”, you don’t win 166, you get 111
You sure? I've gotten like 14 gold from looting with the +50% modifier, but only like 4-10g from looting in normal fights

Absolutely same here. I never even considered it might be Soul. I assumed an acronym.
It could stand for "Softly Oiling Vinny's Loins".
But it probably doesn't.
Probably told elsewhere, but the reason people use a V instead of a U dates back to the romans, who found that carving the curb of a U into rock is really hard, so they just used a V instead since it's the closest letter.

I too am hoping they add some -armor save modifiers.
It's irritating when goblin spears shrug off bolt throwers and hand gun rounds.
It also means handguns are just crap bows since they're shorter range.
Would love charge reactions too so you can flee from a bad situation though you risk not getting the rally.

Edit: you can have an earbud in one ear for your own music so you don't play in near silence.

You’re absolutely right, but you’re missing the part where the game itself has absolutely nothing to do with any of what you’re saying. It seems to be using the V in place of a U purely because the developer thought it would look cool or maybe the word Soul spelt correctly was already taken. The fact those letters have been used interchangeably in the past doesn’t help communicate anything within the context of this title. It doesn’t convey anything about the setting of the game takes place it. It’s just a bad title that I will continue to mispronounce.
Also the Y in Ye olden times was a result of the same typesetting shortcomings.

I found out about this game thanks to you and to be honest I fell in love with it. I hope to see an art update sometime in the future to get rid of the AI art.
Sure - pay them enough money to hire human artists to replace every piece of art in the game.
To be fair to the team, while I don't like the use of AI art when I say team the game is being made by one guy so it makes sense as opposed to a full sized developer like Paradox using it.

I was spoiled a little by playing elves and building my noble to be a horrifying melee monster, then I played undead things were not dying and even my Vampire on a T rex could not save things.

TBF, It's Soul spelt in old English, where V's and U's were interchangeable and both meaning U

Elven spears are hilarious. They're not so bad at start but soon as you get to an anvil you can buy them both heavy armour and longbows. They still use the low tier skills though. Most importantly the unit increase.
Skill 5 longbows of 30 models with heavy armour and shields are glorious to behold.

As good as this game is, I do hope they add a little more flavour to the factions. I've only played the Undead and Walmart Empire so far, but they do seem a little samey.

I get it.... but going back to Latin the letter U didn't exist and instead Classical Latin relied on 'V' to represent both of the sounds we would know for /w/ and /u/. Which means it may be Sowl.
Why would we be going back to Latin? If this game was a Romans strutting about it would make a lot more thematic sense, but there's nothing in this game to suggest Latin is the language in vogue :P

the map running from right to left is just wrong, did the defs not realise most of the world reads right to left, our eyes are trained to do so, and this map is just offensive visually. thanks for the video.
