For those Hawaii enthusiasts like me, this skydive and wingsuit flight is along the East shore of Oahu above Dillingham Airfield and Mokule'ia Beaches. Maui must be the name of the guy flying.
Brett - Well done. Just scanned the entire coastline of Maui, where I have visited many times, looking for an airport I had never seen. I thought, “Surely someone must have pointed this out.” Aside from the confusing title of this vid, it is fun to watch. Wingsuit flying is the forte here, not clarity when it comes to geography.
Agreed. I jumped once at Oahu's north shore and I love maps. This is not the island of Maui. My fun story - My wife and I brought our parachutes from Atlanta in 1992. We worked out an arrangement with the airline to take the gear as carry ons in U.S. mail bags. We were the last to board the plane, and several passengers asked us what's in the bag?
This video is Magical! The plane in the sky getting further away, the sea and the sky, the land and sea below....... All of it gave me chills💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 I'm going to "fly" one day
There are two parts that always freak me out - the exact moment of jump and the last 10 seconds before the landing. Those are what I like to call 'God I'm in your hands now' moments.
Do it! I was never afraid of heights but skydiving will change your life forever. It forces you to think on the fly, it’s such great fun and the community is amazing! I did 7 jumps in three weeks and it’s beyond anything I’ve ever experienced 😇
I'd suggest that the glamour of watching others on youtube from the comfort of home makes it seem appealing to your ego. I guarantee you that the second you're in the plane, it will be extremely different, and you'll likely wish you hadn't gone up. It absolutely 1000% is not for everyone, and a bit scared of heights is one thing, but if you're "absolutely terrified of heights", then you will hate it and not want to do it when you're actually up there in that situation. I'd suggest if anything, go up in a plane with other jumpers first and watch them exit the plane and pretend you're there to do it too. If you don't get a magical urge to jump from a plane and risk killing yourself (even the most experienced sometimes have accidents and unforseen faults, collisions and bad landings), then go for it. But given what you just said, I highly highly doubt it. People like to watch action movies and think running around in gun battles would be cool and exciting, but they aren't. They're horrific experiences. This isn't the same, but people equally watch things like this done expertly and nicely filmed while sitting comfy at home and their ego wants to copy them so they can also feel a thrill, but the actual reality of doing it makes them sick with terror. And you know what? That's ok, because not everyone is supposed to enjoy extreme activities, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just a friendly warning, since I have seen so so many people think the same thing and then cry, panic or even faint when they get up in the plane. And boy, you do not want to faint when you're out of the plane...which also happens sometimes.

Mother of god... that is absolutely beautiful. My fear will never let me experience that kind of beauty, so thank you for living it for me. I'm sure the view is actually breath taking through your eyes. It's so high you can literally see the curvature of the earth.
"It's so high you can literally see the curvature of the earth." No, you can't. obviously the camera bends the horizon. Like it bends for example the ropes of the parachute at 07:56, which are actually straight. 20,000 feet is not high in comparison to the size of the earth.
I've only ever jumped from craft in the military, everywhere between 700feet and 1600feet. 70% were me smashing into the ground. But it was always an amazing view, especially at night. I would love to Halo jump instead of 100lbs of kit and wobble to door hope for the best . Though, if you can swim, jumping from a helo into water is great fun too. 1000ft or 40ft... fun. “The air and sea search for famed stunt pilot Art Scholl was abandoned Tuesday as the Coast Guard concluded that he did not survive the crash of his camera-equipped aerobatic biplane while performing an upside-down spin to get footage for a movie off the coast of northern San Diego County. The 53-year-old Scholl flew in numerous films, including “The Great Waldo Pepper,” “Baa Baa Black Sheep,” “Blue Thunder” and “The Right Stuff.” He was shooting for the Paramount Pictures film, “Top Gun,” when his Pitts Special plunged into the Pacific Ocean five miles off Encinitas late Monday afternoon. Scholl was regarded as the last of three top Hollywood stunt pilots. The others were Paul Mantz, who was 61 when he crashed in the desert near Yuma, Ariz., in 1965 while flying for a scene in “The Flight of the Phoenix,” and Frank Tallman, who died at 58 when his twin-engine plane crashed into an Orange County cliff in 1978.” LA Times, September 18, 1985
Yeah, I dunno if it's so much scared of the height with me. It's more a fear that the parachute can sometimes fail, or someone can collide with you in mid air, or have a bad landing and break bones or worse, or uncontrollably pass out mid air and not be conscious to open your chute, or spin out of control and blow your eyeballs out or some other accident... Even some of the best in the world occasionally can have unforseen accidents, so it's hardly a given that when you jump from the plane you're going to be ok however much training and experience you have. It is not some irrational silly fear, it's a very real fear of very real dangers. People die or become paralysed or injured for life all the time doing these things.

Mother of god... that is absolutely beautiful. My fear will never let me experience that kind of beauty, so thank you for living it for me. I'm sure the view is actually breath taking through your eyes. It's so high you can literally see the curvature of the earth.
"It's so high you can literally see the curvature of the earth."
No, you can't. obviously the camera bends the horizon. Like it bends for example the ropes of the parachute at 07:56, which are actually straight.
20,000 feet is not high in comparison to the size of the earth.
Undeniably a badass jump and video. I’ve visited Maui. So cool to watch and imagine myself having this experience. Thanks for sharing!

1000ft or 40ft... fun.
But .........man... that view was majestic in your video.
The MFF guys get this view too when they train here. But not Airborne, you all don't want too much canopy time when you're being shot at. I know I know. haha, thanks for serving Airborne.
That was beautiful guys ... What a spectacular place to fly over ... Great filming. 👍👍
It touched me deeply to see the natural beauty in this video and to realize the courage and initiative that it took you all to accomplish this feat. God bless.🙂

Absolutely amazing job 👍!!!!! AND for the MORONS claiming that the earth 🌍 is FLAT,,,you can clearly see the curviture of our Amazing planet!!! Even Ray Charles can see it 🤣!!!!!
my well educated friend i love you 🙂 and i invite you to the fold of true believe and submit your will to the most merciful and the most gracious God(ALLAAH in arabic quran and pronounced as ELLOH in hebrew bible and addressed as God universally) for i too was a DEVOTED CHRISTIAN some years ago then after i became an atheist because i was fed of the mythical belief i used to believe in because of the concepts of the scripture(bible) and God 😞 i felt something is wrong some where!!!! so i very deeply studied and investigated on the comparative religions that are being followed all around the world and their scriptures and i entered into a crystal clear and also logically distinguish faith and that is islam !! People deny the existence of God cause they ask how can we believe in God when we haven't seen the outer appearance of God !!? my beloved friend how can any one see the almighty all powerful creator of the entire universe with our naked eyes when we humans are unable and weak to look at the crouching sun at a gaze!! ?? and in this life with our bodily vision nor created things would be able bear up the divine unique appearance of God !! my well educated friend! if you want to understand the greatness God look at God's creations !! look at your own body ,how wonderful and how miraculous the way it's has been created and programmed!! think my beloved think !!. Look at the holy quran that consist of words of God alone that has been revealed unto the earth more than 1500 years ago all praise be to God alone when there were no high technologies were implemented yet holy quran mention very recently discovered many scientific advanced facts including embryology space science ,etc and about some facts that are yet to to be discover in near future are also mentioned unimaginably yet miraculously nearly 1500 years ago without the help of any high technologies!!!while the scientists are unable to break through even by using very latest high tech equipment !!!who can produce such a miracle, a book full of miracles other than ALLAH !!! and God say in the holy quran in Sura 4:82 "If [Quran] had been from other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction"!! and almighty God challenge anyone who reject to believe in the existence of God by pulling out any contradiction or any mistake from this divine book of God(quran) and if you fail to take up the challenge and yet start to disbelieve in the existence of god then its an unchangeable catastrophe you had earned from your own hands and its really a very unpleasant experience when you realize its too late!! 😞 my friend i love you all and if want to obtain a eternal life with mind blowing unimaginable, unheard, unseen paradise you better submit your will to one and only God(ALLAAH in arabic quran , pronounced as ELOH in hebrew bible and addressed as God universally ) before its too late
and these are some of the mythical based beliefs some people believe in all around the world as their saviors

Sheesh. They got SO close to one another, during the free-fall AND during the ‘chute time.
Wow, I wonder the altitude. They were definitely high up, cuz the “fly-time” (as I like to call it🦸😆) was nearly 8 minutes!
They’re very experienced. Without supplemental oxygen, people can lose their reaction times, forget to pull the cord in time, lose track of the others/collide, misinterpret their landing spot, etc. You can tell these guys are pro’s.👏

I don't need to be stoned to think that.🤔😃👍

If I wasn’t scared of heights this would be unbelievable beautiful experience for the soul
@@DM-kv9kjall that and yet you probably hop in a car without a care in the world 😭
It’s amazing how long that flight lasted. It’s literally as close as today’s man can come to being a bird.
