I got to fly there in the 1980's. Most beautiful place I have ever flown. On one flight I had a good launch made the left hand turn as did this pilot. Air was very smooth, and as I rounded the corner to cruise alongside the cliff, I see two people sitting on a platform attached to the steep rock face. They had spent the night there. I yelled at the Guy and Gal, "you guys are Crazy!!. They yell back to me, "You are Crazy". All in good fun, and I returned to seeing how much of this magnificent Gorge I can visit. Great landing, then awaited my brother as he had launched after me. I ma 70 years old now and chose to stop flying due to some health issues. Hope you get many great years of flying.
Hello old bird, You are now like an old bird that you had the feeling of a free bird for a long time because of these flights, what a beautiful feeling you really experienced, may God protect you dear friend, I hope you are healthy and healthy 👋❤️ حسین از ایران 👋 ❤️

Super nice demo of how it is to really fly there. I made my approach to the upper Y falls more to the right parallel to the wall and flew THROUGH the falls :-) Such an awesome place to fly. Nice landing: you stuck it. Loved no music just how it really is. I flew there in the '90's. GREAT Video!
Thank you thank you! I flew Wills Wings in the late 70's and I could feel every move you made. Obviously the new gliders are a lot better than the ones we had.
I had about a dozen flights off Glacier Point in the mid 70’s. A couple of flights off Sentinel Dome. Landed in the Ahwahnee Meadows and Leidig Meadows. The “Flying Ranger” Dean Paschall oversaw the flight operations, which were authorized in the early mornings to minimize spectators. As a result, very little thermal lift. You would get a little lift as the granite was quick to heat. The glide ratio was 4 to 1 in the early 70’s so the flight was relatively short. No other venue came close to the beauty of hang gliding in Yosemite. My memories of these flights are still vivid all these years later.
this is an amazingly beautiful perspective! thank you for sharing. please do this again with a crazy high res camera!!! If this would be done with vr i think a lot of people would totaly loose their mind! the view without the risk! omg that perfect balls to the wall landing!
You are a Master at what you do. Thanks for sharing this great video. Could you install a camera in front to have a clear view from your eyes point of view. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Buenas tardes. Questions.... Gracias.
Only wish I flew there! Closest I got to a flight like that was when I was with about eight or ten guys that flew off the north face of Mount Washington. I was so new I hadn’t done a cliff launch yet. The mountain was too intimidating for me. On hindsight, I could have done it no problem. ☹️
My first flight from Glacier Point was a year before your flight here. I was so intimidated by this place I flew straight out to mid-valley, not sure where LZ was or my sink rate or when would be over the LZ, just playing it conservatively. (Google or UA-cam "Will Hill Yosemite"). Your flight plan caught intimate, spectacular images of the valley. I was wondering how you would set up landing when I saw the water in the LZ. No problem. Relaxed S turn low and bank in. Nicely done.
Yosemite is one of a small number of sites which require an Advanced (H4) rating to fly, the highest rating generally issued: parkplanning.nps.gov/projectHome.cfm?projectID=21599 Advanced pilots must have flown at least 250 flights and 75 hours of airtime, plus a bunch of skills requirements including being able to consistently land within 25 feet of a target. So, yep! Very skilled pilot.
That was a fun ride. My question is why are they letting all those dead trees stand instead of removing them and replacing with new growth? Its no wonder California fires get worse every summer.
It was worrying me as he was moving toward the launch site that he wasn't clipped in:( I've personally witnessed someone launching without clipping the harness. luckily that time ended well

Bird like flight and view... Just the sounds of wind and equipment doing the job... Awesome session! Congrats
Good to see this one connected himself to the glider properly.
Still just one carabiner though!
@@KingofRoath
And a parachute attached to his chest...so not too dangerous if the carabiner broke.
...Looks like it's among the most spectacular places to fly in the USA...wow...
Great video, thanks for sharing and please do not remove.
