Thanks. Good for reassembling my governor. I removed the gear shaft by drift pin and hammer from outside, must remove flywheel, shaft reinstalls fine (seemed easier then removing clip).
What type of speed increase would you see from this? I have a Jiangdong 5.5hp which is a Chinese clone of the gx160 and I want to do it if I get a substantial increase in speed
You explained this entire process extremely well and it helped tremendously!
@jeremybutler7626 thank you for the positive comment. I really appreciate it and I am glad that my video could help you.
Thank you. You did an excellent job explaining and showing how it's done.

How do you set the idle speed after removal?
Do you manipulate the throttle manually using just the carb intake baffle?
great vid, thank you

Very informative video right there, what is the size of bolt in that crankshaft hole in the middle. To lock the pulley in place.

How strong is the stock rod on the gx160?
nice vid! Does getting rid of the governor give you throttle control?
No you still have to link everything up I'll have a video on that maybe tomorrow
You have to change some things around to get throttle control.
I remove the plastic gear from my enegine but not the governor is it fine whitout it?
That is the governor
hi, do you think we need to upgrade the engine oil grade after removing this governer?
No you can keep the same oil. Done it multiple times never had a problem
Why they use this governor? What is doing?
It automatically maintains the rotary speed on a engine
@@JOATD Thanks man.
Use a Dremel
