He was the only one he portrayed himself as an actual spider when he faught the way he wrapped around fox croc or how he was using his webs in the sewer to find his location.
He is one of my favorite actors, not only because he is a great actor and has his own acting style but as a human being too, a wonderful, kind and honest person. He is genuine and thoughtful
Andrew is genuinely himself and it shows in every role he’s ever had. His authenticity connects with the audience and makes the characters he plays believable and makes us care about and relate to them.
The guy feels such real-life person. He doesn't hesitate in admitting he didn't want to do something, or saying the F word. Not afraid to be himself in a conversation. And yes, I also clicked for the social network...and 99 HOMES
That scene on the bridge with the kid Jack that more then I think any scene shows why I love spiderman so much while tom Holland handle the big story as much as id want anyone to that scene shows so much why I love this character. Always look out for the little guy.
Such an underrated film, I am surprised it didn't do better considering it had Andrew and the director was coming off a career defining hit (It Follows)
It had a weird release. The US release was pushed back multiple times and then it came out on streaming less than a week after it was released in theaters. It also wasn't advertised as much as it could have been.
One of the best filmographies of any actor. Wish they would have had him talk about "Under the Banner of Heaven," considering how it contrasts with "Silence" and "Hacksaw Ridge" in terms of how it is about someone losing their faith as opposed to those films which are about a deep reverence for it.
I still believe to this day that TASM didn't deserve the hate it got and that it deserved a third movie. casually leaving a series with a cliff hanger is brutal
For real. Its a shame that we didnt get to see more of Andrews spiderman on the big screen and how his universe played out after. But at least his character had a bittersweet conclusion to his story in NWH, as well as Tobeys spiderman.
Sure people will play favourites, but I don't think TASM was the problem. A poorly developed, let's shoe-horn a rushed sinister 6 plot in, TASM2 was the death knell
@@OCMRick Oh yeah definitely. Also the promo for TASM2 was that it was suppose to have 3 main villains jammed into 1 movie, because the people making it thought "more villains = more toys = more money!" And GG and Rhino didn't even make it past 5 minutes of screen time. That was dissapointing when I watched it in theatres.
Very glad 'Angels in America' was highlighted here. Due to Garfield's (and the entire cast's) peformance, I ended up seeing both acts three times, and I can not compliment the stamina and effort required enough. One of the best performances I have seen on stage near to a decade. Well worth watching if you get the chance.
I’m so happy it’s become a thing now for my generation, the kids who grew up with stars like Andrew and Hayden Christensen, to let them know that even when it seemed everything was always negative that they were always loved because now we have a voice
Andrew has one of the best quotes describing acting. It’s during his Actors on Actors conversation with Zendaya. He says “Acting is imaginative empathy.”
I really didn't expect it to be on the list, it feels like one of the types they'd leave off or forget ab, based on previous break down videos. I really Loved Boy A, when I first watched it all those years ago, I could hardly believe that they'd made it into a film, I had read and loved the book as a kid.
He was the best spiderman hands down he played Peter Parker so well. I really want another spiderman with him. They could do it like the multi verse f up and he meets venom or something. He’s needs a 3rd movie
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus is probably the first movie I saw him in, and I think is an awesome movie. Too bad you didn't ask him about the last movie Heath Ledger worked on. :/
I was just watching him and Amelia Dimoldenberg having a chicken shop date that was uploaded 5 hrs ago and saw this that was also uploaded 5 hrs ago... Which is mind blowing 🤯😆😶
Not a real complaint but the close-ups made me feel they wanted me to believe he was saying incredibly important that second. Most of the times that wasn't the case
This is premium content. It's not just another UA-cam video. They could sell this as a show to a network, or charge money to people to see it. The ads are simply the price of admission.
Love how connected he is to himself and the art.
yess
we're getting a lot of andrew content and i am LIVING for it
Seeing Andrew & Tobey in NWH was the best!!!
I still can't believe it happened!
I’m glad everyone agrees he had the best web swinging scenes out of all the live action🕷️🕸️ movies
i'm sorry i missed the part where that's my problem
He was the only one he portrayed himself as an actual spider when he faught the way he wrapped around fox croc or how he was using his webs in the sewer to find his location.

The small knives scene is freaking amazing!! Underrated scene in movies. It’s perfect.
This dude as private doss in Hack saw ridge was the greatest
Severely underrated movie
Who else clicked on this video to see him talk about “The Social network”
Not really
I watched this movie with my dad once
A bit, mostly spidey for me though…he’s had other great roles can’t knock that.
@@Fredericosantos21 guess I’m the only one
@@BoosieBraun-q5s I’ve been meaning to watch it, but never had the time until I finally watched it and I really liked the movie
UNDER THE SILVER LAKE is one of andrews BEST roles, that entire film is a major contribution to illustrious backdoor grimy cinema
That film is incredible and hardly anyone has seen it
Such an underrated film, I am surprised it didn't do better considering it had Andrew and the director was coming off a career defining hit (It Follows)

im loving all the andrew content lately
Love Andrew as Spiderman!
He is the second best toby is nr1
The guy has a really thoughtful way to look back and describe his process.
Never Let Me Go : his most underrated performance.
this video needs a part 2 for the sake of Never let me go 🙏🏼
One of the best filmographies of any actor. Wish they would have had him talk about "Under the Banner of Heaven," considering how it contrasts with "Silence" and "Hacksaw Ridge" in terms of how it is about someone losing their faith as opposed to those films which are about a deep reverence for it.
Some parts of "Hacksaw Ridge" cracked me up.
"How long have you been dead, son?"
"Sir?"
I still believe to this day that TASM didn't deserve the hate it got and that it deserved a third movie. casually leaving a series with a cliff hanger is brutal

Don't know why Sony don't just say Andrew is the Spidey of the Venomverse and let him have a third movie with those characters.
Sure people will play favourites, but I don't think TASM was the problem. A poorly developed, let's shoe-horn a rushed sinister 6 plot in, TASM2 was the death knell
Yes it did. It’s terrible.
@@OCMRick Oh yeah definitely. Such an intelligent human. He’s a great actor and spiderman
Too early in his career for this, he has many great roles ahead of him.
Under the Silver Lake is my favorite hidden gem of A24’s. Loved him in the role.
Yeah, it's excellent. It's so unique and original.
Very glad 'Angels in America' was highlighted here.

Andrew Garfield: "It IS exhausting"
Editor: Puts CGI Footage like bro was actually swinging through the alleyways
Hacksaw Ridge doesn't get nearly enough love! A true masterpiece!
He NEVER talks about under the silver lake what a treat!
yooo gq is pumping these out fast
I’m so happy it’s become a thing now for my generation, the kids who grew up with stars like Andrew and Hayden Christensen, to let them know that even when it seemed everything was always negative that they were always loved because now we have a voice
Love them both
He’s so articulate and smart 😊
I thought I looked young and then there's Andrew Garfield who doesn't look a day older than maybeee 27 and who's 41 ...my jaw is on the floor
I knew they obviously wouldn't, but I kinda wanted him them to get him to talk about his episodes on Doctor Who 😅
This is the earliest I have ever been to one of these. BIG W
Loved him in Hacksaw Ridge! ❤
08:50 that is so true..
that one sided brotherhood love part was so real
Andrew has one of the best quotes describing acting. It’s during his Actors on Actors conversation with Zendaya.
He says “Acting is imaginative empathy.”
Silence is such an amazing meaningful meaning
I was really hoping, but was not expecting Boy A to be in this! Such a powerful film.
I really didn't expect it to be on the list, it feels like one of the types they'd leave off or forget ab, based on previous break down videos. I really Loved Boy A, when I first watched it all those years ago, I could hardly believe that they'd made it into a film, I had read and loved the book as a kid.
Silence and Under Silver Lake are two of the most under appreciated films of the last 20ish years
Silver Lake will be a notorious cult film in a decade or so. Brilliant film.
Never Let Me Go is still my favorite performance of his
This guy is 41, let that sink in.
He could pass for mid 20s
My favourite actor
I'm a simple guy. I see Andrew, I click like.
my spidey 🤩👍🏿
Andrew's such a king
Waited for this video for soo long
I SEE AN UNDER THE SILVER LAKE SECTION HOLD THE PHONE
Andy is everywhere and I love it
So cool that he got to chat with Scorsese in a long form way like that
He is such a charismatic guy :) I really like him.
Whoever posted this at the same time as Chicken Shop Date is either really dumb or a genius
Would’ve loved to hear him talk about The Eyes of Tammy Faye
He looks like he should have been in game of thrones yo - him and Kit Harrington would be awesome to see on screen together
Wow. He is def starting to hit his stride. I am really impressed with him.
I want an amazing spiderman 3🙏🏻 please andrew hahah
Don't forget Andrew Garfield was in Doctor who series 3
He was the best spiderman hands down he played Peter Parker so well. I really want another spiderman with him. They could do it like the multi verse f up and he meets venom or something. He’s needs a 3rd movie
Andrew Garfield is an amazing Spiderman.
Andrew in Under the banner of heaven 👑👑👑
For some strange reason the older this guy gets the more respect I have for him, even though this was not the case a few years back.
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus is probably the first movie I saw him in, and I think is an awesome movie. Too bad you didn't ask him about the last movie Heath Ledger worked on. :/
Such a great guy.
I was hoping he would have talked about "Never Let Me Go"...
"It's time to start stretching..."
It is? Is it? Foreshadowing?
I think it's more a humorous way of saying he's an older actor now, needing to stretch before action scenes. One can hope though..
Nothing short of AMAZING🕸️
I'm here for under the silver lake
He'll be the first spiderman actor to win an oscar
Imma be real I clicked on this just to hear Andrew Garfleid ramble.
You're not the only one babes
I love him
Most iconic characters.... He's like 25!!!!!
Bro pulled out words I don’t even think exist yet
could listen to him talk about his projects for houuurs
Most Versatile Actor, hands down
Absolutely not.
@@iLLuminatedWithDren nah he's definitely up there
not the most but def one of them.
tasm 2 and tasm 3 were the best
This may be a controversial statement but I think his best performance was in a movie called Mainstream even though it was a terrible movie
Wow, I only knew his Peter Parker role
Boo we wanted to hear about Daleks in Manhattan
Both Andrew Garfield and Mel Gibson were robbed of the oscar that year
This guy only 40 and already looks like a retired dad
HIS HAIRRR
THE BEST SPIDERMAN
Andrew is the goat 🐐 💯
it always trips me out hearing british actors talk normally after watching so many movies where they’re american
My guy
Who's here afer watching his date with Amelia Dimoldenberg?
I was just watching him and Amelia Dimoldenberg having a chicken shop date that was uploaded 5 hrs ago and saw this that was also uploaded 5 hrs ago... Which is mind blowing 🤯😆😶
Next: Tobey Maguire!
Not a real complaint but the close-ups made me feel they wanted me to believe he was saying incredibly important that second. Most of the times that wasn't the case
Hey GQ how about you don’t have an ad every 30 seconds on this video
This is premium content. It's not just another UA-cam video. They could sell this as a show to a network, or charge money to people to see it. The ads are simply the price of admission.
Dude wrote his college thesis on peter parker😂 gimmie a break homie
What about Andrew's role as Frank in Doctor Who? SMH their best performance to date!!
Wow GQ! No NEVER LET ME GO? I mean who curated the lost for this video? Are you crazy?
I love this video
What a greay guy :)
would say more nude or beige
Love this mf
Also he and I share a birthday
GOAT
How he's 41? He looks 31-35
Try 27-29!
Where's Red Riding?
I feel that he was kinda underrated as a spiderman, but he is most def one of my favorites
