“Try to understand why other people like [captain America] and honor it as best you can” is one of the most coherent things I’ve ever heard a celebrity say.
The way he talks about figuring out why people love a character and honouring it rather than just doing their own thing, is something more actors in such iconic roles should learn about.
I don't necessarily think it's the actors you gotta worry about it in that regard. A lot of them show reverence for what the characters mean to people generally it's on the studio level, the writers directors and producers, where you have people that decide they know better than the source material
There are a bunch of these same videos with other actors and they're all pretty cool to see. Cool to hear about what these people think about the roles they've done.

Being interviewed together with other actors and actresses, Chris oftentimes tells jokes and kind of horses around, which can also be fun of course. 🙂Here, however, he appears to be really serious, deep-thinking, and he strings words together so beautifully and effortlessly - such a bliss to listen to him reminiscing about his previous roles. 👍
Everyone that talks about Scott Pilgrim says exactly the same thing about the movie and cast. They all had the best time making it and everyone is still friends. That's so cool! 😎
every time anyone talks about being in Scott Pilgrim, they ALWAYS talk about how much fun everyone was and how sad they were to go. So wholesome and heartbreaking at the same time :(
A super underrated movie that Evans was in, was PUSH. Had an awesome world building premise, and a think on your feet thrilling drama. Now that him and Dakota Fanning are older, it would amazing to have them revisit it with years having passed and how powers have evolved, etc.!

I enjoy him as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movies, I felt he captured the energetic and cocky spirit of the character excellently but I gotta say as much as I enjoyed him as Johnny Storm, I love him as Captain America even more cuz this role fits him much more

@@The_OstrichI agree that it was the perfect time but I hated his send off. I really wish that instead Thanos took away his super soldier powers and he just lived the last few years (or honestly months at his age) as normal Steve before passing. Him going back feels like such an out of character selfish move, Peggy moved on and had a wonderful life and family. With Steve there they either just had that dance and then stayed a part despite knowing they could now be with each other or they had to sneak around or something; they couldn’t have had a normal life together without changing the present day timeline since it would alter the chain of events that led to it.

All the different t shirts he wears throughout, and his obsession with cats 😂
I really wanted that movie to be on this interview. 😢
Losers: Jensen was iconic too. Him and his petunias, ref that was a foul! Or how about the ones he directed. Chris stick up for yourself
I was literally waiting for the losers to be mentioned, so disappointed it wasn't.
I can't fathom anyone else playing the role but to hear his first priority was to uphold what fans loved about the character is so heart warming.
Aw I wish he talked about “gifted” it’s such a great movie and a tearjerker for sure.❤
One of my favorite most underrated movies with Chris Evans is cellular with Jason Statham as the bad guy!
I loved that movie
it is he most underated movie in his whole cerrer and i hate that people don't know about it.
Cellular is so underrated as a enjoyable, quick pace, straight to the point movie.
The cell phone logic makes absolutely no sense and I love the movie regardless lol
I loved that
Chris was really made to play the role of Captain America. It's like match made in heaven. Phenomenal actor and a human being
Everyone that talks about Scott Pilgrim says exactly the same thing about the movie and cast. They all had the best time making it and everyone is still friends. That's so cool! 😎
He respected the character and honored it as Cap (unlike other actors nowadays) which is why it was a huge success. And he earned our respect for it.
every time anyone talks about being in Scott Pilgrim, they ALWAYS talk about how much fun everyone was and how sad they were to go.
Cellular was also a great underrated early film of his, with Kim Basinger and Jason Statham
I loved Push! Someone uploaded it to youtube one time and I watched it for the first time. I liked it so much I went out and bought it on DVD lol
@@djoscartj Absolutely loved that movie!
Wanted him to mention perfect score lol
Oh I forgot about that movie, a buddy told me it was kinda meh so I was going to wait and rent but then kinda forgot it existed. I will check it out tonight.
To this day Captain America movies still are the best MCU ever done
Agreed, Winter Solider is one of my favorite movies ever.
Each one got better
Facts!!
yeah
Other than the avengers ones yh but spiderman movies come close
I wish they had talked about push. I know it wasn't a huge movie, but it's one that I love him in
I still watch snowpiercer to this day, it has always been one of my favorite movies.
I’m sad the movie Push with Chris in it is not talked about more often. It’s one of the best “superhero” movies I have ever seen with a very interesting and new story that hasn’t been told before.
Yesss
His ability to just be so positive and describe everything with substance and meaning is truly amazing
Sunshine is probably a top 3 favorite movie. HIGHLY underated with an amazing cast.
Never heard of it but I love space movies
His small role in The Iceman was pretty cool. Stuff like that during his Cap days showed he liked challenges. And he was very awesome in Losers
He was probably filming deadpool and Wolverine during this time
He is and got skinned by Female Chuck
I like how after months of silence he's everywhere all at once. Love it!
Very happy Sunshine got a spotlight. Such an amazing film! With the visuals and audio at times take it very much into what you would call true art.
Yeah, it's low-key one of my favorite movies ever. I'd definitely put it in my top 10 at least.
Can't reco this movie enough, it really is worth watching, and it's just a matter of time for this movie to become a timeless one~
It aged well. Intelligent scifi. Unlike what is released today.
To this day it’s my favourite movie
I completely missed that movie. I am definitely going to check it out.
It sounds like Chris Evans can do this all day.
Just stop
I love how he studies every character before playing it
🔥🫡🇺🇸
Feel like the irony with Chris is that he prefers & loves to play villains but he fits being a hero so well
Chris Evans's performance in Snowpiercer was so mind-blowing, I absolutely forgot anything that he's ever done in the past. Frankly, one of the best performances in the past decade.
I just got chills still watching the clip of him saying "Avengers, assemble" and as I type this, I got goosebumps again haha! Epic!
The way he says Captain America at 1:47 😍
The movie that really got me to like Chris Evans was Cellular. Love that movie!
I know he’s not super stoked about Not Another Teen Movie but it still to this day makes me laugh so I’m glad he did it.
I like the fact that he actually said Mjohlnir instead of thor's hammer even after 4 years . I wouldn't have blamed him if he forgot the name. Respect
Chris Evans will always be one of my personal hero’s. One of my all time favorite actors.
I’m so happy he discussed Sunshine and Snowpiercer. Both are so underrated but amazing, especially Sunshine
Such a humble guy. He sorta centers other people with every film he talks about.
I think that Sunshine was one of his greatest roles, it was the first movie to me, that I saw, where I felt like he was getting into more serious roles and he did a beautiful job.
That movie is utterly beautiful. Has some soulwrenching scenes
I was pleasantly surprised he talked about Not Another Teen Movie. I was hoping he would but he’s been in so many amazing films I didn’t think it would make it 😂. One of my favs
This was the movie I knew him for first of all. That banana split scene is still a classic! 😂😂
for such a larger than life actor he is so down to earth and humble.
Chris evans did amazing as captain america. He has said his favorite scene was captain america using thors hammer. In fact it was everyone. Thank you for playing captain america and given the fans such a memorable performance.
It was quite an insightful interview. Different approach in summarisation.
"Try to find out why other people like him, and honor him as best you can" - Chris Evan. That was beautifully said about Captain America. He certainly did honor it.
He’s worked with some very talented and interesting directors and played different kind of characters looking back at his career
I enjoy him as Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four movies, I felt he captured the energetic and cocky spirit of the character excellently but I gotta say as much as I enjoyed him as Johnny Storm, I love him as Captain America even more cuz this role fits him much more
"Sunshine" is such an underrated classic. Terrific actor.
I love how he has a lot more of development as Lucas Lee in the new SP anime! He's nowadays one of the most popular cast members and he still committed and got really involved to the voice acting. ❤
Him saying Scott pilgrim came and went that hurt that series meant so much to me as a child
I really liked his acting in " Defending Jacob " .
one of my favourite projects of his, his acting was phenomenal in it.
Me too. I think it’s the best he has ever been.
ugh yes.. Andy ...
I really wished he played more serious roles because he certainly has this aura of playing tough and rigid characters just like in snowpiercer @@mainly_marvel
Finally, hearing Cap say " AVENGERS.... assemble....." On the big screen, literally made my little nerd heart swell 10× bigger that day...
Yep, when he caught Mjolnir, the audience in my theater suddenly went so quiet you could hear a pin drop. And when he said "assemble." everyone went *_INSANE_* ! People were crying with the emotion of the moment. I'd been waiting for that moment since I started reading Captain America as a boy 'way back in the 60s. 52 years is a looong time to wait but the delivery was so worth it.
@kenroach5469 I had a much similar experience in the theater when Cap said the thing... Utter pandemonium! Truly, a moment in the theater I'll never forget and will likely never be repeated.
Literally? Then you definitely need to see a cardiologist and I'm surprised you're still alive!
Captain America we miss you 🦸♂️
No we don't, his character had the perfect send off at the perfect time.
@@The_Ostrichtalk for youself.
I love the way his character ended but i still miss him.
@@The_Ostrichpreach
Agreed. The casting for Marvel phase 1 was perfect
His love of acting and movies comes through with what he cares about in these films
