Beautiful looking result and well done for persevering past the wobbly chuck fixture! To be fair, I've nothing to add on your format, I've watched it evolve towards where it is now and as I'm sure I've mentioned before, you're looking and sounding much more comfortable with each production! Just keep on making cool stuff and presenting it in a way that showcases your talents and personality.❤👍
Huey, you have always been such an encouragement and never blow smoke - thank you as always for your feedback and for watching. More coming soon. I’m getting more confident for sure. Letting me out - careful what you wish for 🤣🥰🌲🦊🌲
The results may be nice but your interjection clarifies why one should think twice about turning resin. It also made me smile Claire, thank you for another great video! 😎
Hey, Pam! Thanks so much for feeding back. I’m pretty happy with how this came out - scary in parts but all learning! Thanks 🙏 for your continued support! 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Thanks for feeding back, Debbi. I do enjoy a little chat and I’m finding it’s getting a little easier as my confidence grows. Appreciate you taking time to watch and letting me know your thoughts 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Busty chaps ? I'm protected by the fleece attached to my skin !! LOL great video, not a fan of the music, I never was when I used it either, machine sounds I like and so do most people. voice over works good it saves time I should start doing that. lol ( it's your video Claire do it as you like, that's my final answer !!!! ) the project turned out great and as always I give a thumbs up !
Thanks for the feedback Douggie. Can’t shake the image of your fluffy man chest now 🤣🤣 - will be keeping music I think but very quietly in the background xx
Every once in a while I turn out some thing more beautiful than ever. THAT is what this piece looks like, Such beautiful character in the wood grain. Great (art) work. Keep them coming. Hugs to Foxy.
Wow! ThAnks so much for taking time to watch and comment. This one was certainly a challenge for me at my beginner level, I love monkey puzzle tree wood!! Stay Foxy 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Ha! He must be worrying - he did copy my worm turning idea a few months ago!!! Cheeky or what!!! Not even a shout out to me for inspiration 😡 - I have a tiny bit of catching up to do - about 860,000 subscribers 🤣🤣 thanks for watching Chris and for your continued encouragement ! 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Hello again, I was busy watching a great video of a beautiful vase being turned, perfect choice of colour with that wood and YES, the editing- go for it! Take care! Claes.
Thanks for watching as always, Claes - I’m Definitely loving the blue and the monkey puzzle textures - the blue was left over from the Jurassic World sign I made a few years ago. 🥰 stay foxy! 🌲🦊🌲
Love it ,it has a lovely grain pattern and the coloured resin was a great choice. Cracking little vase Claire👌 Love the edit, just the right length and good mix of music and voice over . Cheers Bram
Thanks, Bram. The swirls came out pretty nicely in the resin, I was chuffed with that. I’d seen monkey puzzle turned before but it always looked a bit dull - the spray lacquer seemed to bring out the texture too. Glad you enjoyed 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Yay foxy lady. The edit is fine. You'll never please all of the people all of the time so just make them as you enjoy. Build it and they'll come. Now where have I heard that before? Nice one as always but I'm biased (ha ha). Beats "The Repair Shop" any day!
What a great project love the swirling in the resin you did a great job. I like a bit of chat and the tools sounds. I have always preferred a longer video you can sit with a cup of tea and enjoy. Keep up the great videos I love your channel. Thank you for sharing:-)
Great job Claire. Resin projects always look amazing, it’s just that they’re expensive and not nice to turn which is why I do little resin work. Length of video great, voice over great, music don’t mind but needs to be more of background music as not everyone has the same taste. Well done!
Wise as always, Paul. Thanks for the feedback too. Was pleased with this one - getting a little more confident with hollowing but resin is probably not the best way of practicing that!! I do love the way this turned out. I actually LOVE turning resin and hybrid pens but the larger objects are definitely more taxing! 😳🌲🦊🌲
Thanks, Steve. Glad you like the edit, it seems to be going down well on the whole, seems that should be 15 mins max and I’m happiest with around 10 so it’s great to get everyone’s feedback. Thanks for watching 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Great video, Claire!!! I love resin myself, so fun to watch others too! Always scary when the tenon/mortise fails, just glad it didn't go flying or cause other issues!!!!
Tenon failing certainly woke me up!! I should have used a faceplate first time round 🤣 learning all the time! Resin is worth it in the end, I agree, hybrid projects can look lovely. Thanks for watching as always 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Thanks, Huw, funny you should mention that - next video is definitely one that would have been in the fire or simply rotted away - watch this space. 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Love your videos! I like the edit on this one I like machine sounds vs music I like explaining what you are doing then watching you do it I like quite spots with no vocals too
Well done. Love what you did with this wood. Left as it came would not have been a good piece to turn. By splitting and casting the whole thing you’ve made a great blank the became a very nice piece. Very nice.
Thanks, Doug! It’s interesting wood for sure but I agree, it works really well with the resin! Thanks for taking time to watch and comment. Always appreciated 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Lovely job as ever Claire. I think I might have lost my bottle when the tenon gave out, so well done for seeing it through. Speaking as the owner of a (frankly rather impressive) set of 40 inch B cup moobs, I can say I sympathise with the whole shavings thing. I have the added bonus of lots of thick hair to hold it all in place. Don't ask me how I know this. As for the video format, if I'm honest I probably prefer what you have always done. I have a short attention span so a slightly shorter video works for me and I know what to expect when I see a new offering on your channel. Just my tuppence mind, I'm sure there will be many other opinions. Thanks for the video and take care!
Oohhh Pete, throats a set of images I will Never unsee - thank goodness I don’t have to worry about the chest rug situation 🤣🤣. Ok so you’re thinking more like 10 mins max - I am comfortable with 8-10 mins so I think 15 will always be my max!! Thanks for the feedback my friend! 🥰🌲🦊🌲
I love this video length, style, etc., except I’d love to know what tools you use and why for each project. I know nothing about woodturning and always enjoy learning about the craft.
Ahh. Good point. I guess as a beginner I am not always sure I’m using the right tool for the job - I just do what works for me in the safest way I can. I have some very experienced turners who usually shout at me if I do anything too scary! Ha and for that I’m grateful. Advice is always worth taking on board. I truly appreciate you telling me what you think. Thank you 🙏 🥰🌲🦊🌲
Great work Claire, that is a beautiful piece. I like your videos as they are and think your format is great. In terms of length of video, I would say let your project dictate how long it should be, does it show all the elements that you want to be seen.
Oooh good advice - does it show all the elements that I want shown - thanks Jiggerbug (my pet name for you 🤣) feedback is great. See you on the next one - should be Sunday 🥰🌲🦊🌲
@@MakingItOutOfTheWoods 😂😂 I do find that sometimes my videos are restricted also by the quality of my film work, i.e. sometimes scenes I want to show are cut because I messed up on the filming... normally my head is in the way and no one wants to see that. Im not a fan of setting a specific length for a video, it is as long as it needs to be. Having said that, I find 8-12 minutes to be the sweet spot for views ;) Those knots look great!

Another great video and project. The resin and wood combo looks great and that shiny finish is epic.
Was pretty happy with the finish. Might try a resin coat next time - have to get dust free first though!!! 🤣🤣🌲🦊🌲
As a busty chap, I agree
Haha! I feel your pain! Thanks for watching 🤣🌲🦊🌲
Stunning vase mate, this edit is nicely done, so are your normal ones. Love this monkey puzzle wood 👍🏻👍🏻

Hahaha! 🤣
That's an awesome piece! I love that shade of blue! Me personally, I like voice overs, would rather having just noise from tools instead of music.
Thanks for the feedback. Hope you’ll come back soon. I’m a little behind but I will be back uploading soon 🥰
