In this video you will see me woodturning a Christmas Ornament, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer in fact! I made him from a chunk of American Walnut that Carl and Robin Jacobson So kindly sent me. Just like the Rudolf from the song we all know and love, this chap has a very shiny (LED light up) nose!
Really enjoyed making him. **I cut the antlers out on my little laser cutter and have the file if you would like to make your own**. The LED I used for the nose illumination is in the amazon link below.
The wood turned beautifully. I think you'll agree that he's pretty cute - what do you think? I think I need someone to knit him a small red scarf though!! It's chilly here in The Highlands!

Great job turned out really nicely, did you make the antlers?
One tip about CA and the activator, the activator only hardens the top layer so anything deep needs longer to cure which becomes noticeable as you turn the top layer away.

I always seem to have good luck with activator, got the knack now - all well and good to make my own coloured CA with mica but it does seem to stain the surrounding wood a little - wonder if the pre coloured CA does? 🥰 thanks for watching, Paul x 🎄🦊🎄

What did you use to fill the cracks? A fast epoxy with brown color pigment?

CA with brown mica powder - had a go at it as don’t have any brown CA and worked quickly! Did stain the wood surrounding it a little but I’ll know for next time! Thanks for watching Frank 🥰🎄🦊🎄
