In this video you will see me turning some scrap wood and a Yew log in to a cute little owl. This is a beginner's turning project and really is pretty straightforward.
I decided to keep sections of bark on to look like wings and feathers and kept the design very basic, it could be a little more fancy with ears and so on if you wanted to spruce him up even more so.

I think it looks great, maybe the eyes are a bit too large in proportion to the rest but it sure looks cute.

good bit of turning...yew is the best to turn.....to my immense shame i cut down a yew tree and gave it to my dad to burn...it was before i was turning😢

@@MakingItOutOfTheWoods We finished all the builds for NASA (including installation at Mars Dune Alpha) at the end of February. This week they allowed members of the press in to view the habitat before the CHAPEA experiment begins. So EXCITED!! 😁😁
