Good video, but Thanos is NOT a Deviant. He is an Eternal with a Deviant mutation. He is basically a mutant among the eternals which is why he is so powerful.
Yeah, that's because both DC and Marvel didn't want to give Jack Kirby the creative freedom to write what he wanted. The Eternals were never meant to be part of the Marvel Universe. Instead, it was supposed to be a comic set in a self contained universe. The Eternals are meant to be the mythological gods on Earth. The problem is that because of the way that Marvel folded them into the Marvel universe there are now 2 sets of mythological gods. All because they didn't want Jack Kirby to share his vision with the world. Now that's a shame. I'd have loved to see a little bit more of Kirby's ideas.
I think it's because Jack went to DC not long after he created them and they didn't quite pick up in popularity so he did a similar, albeit different in origin and mythos, project which became popular (not sure which group came 1st to be honeat)
Jack Kirby's style of sci fi is so unique to himself. It has such a strong distinction, & brings me some much nostalgia since I've read his books since I was a kid
New Gods are stronger than Eternals. Look at the basic strength level of Darkseid and Thanos. Without infinity stones, Darkseid can wipe the floor with Thanos.
Toprak Yetimoglu even with the infinity stones true darkseid makes thanos his bitch and even a single mob in new gods cities can punch with forces equal to a 100 galaxies and that's just an insignificant person so imagine the powerful ones
The Eternals are quote-on-quote "descendants" of the Celestials, so they can just say that he shares the powers with the Eternals because he is the Eternals' ancestor. They could even retcon it to say that he is a direct ancestor (father/grandfather) of one the main characters in the upcoming film.
@Kimble Simpson I know, but that doesn't mean it's bad - not everything has to 100% comic book accurate. Having elements of variety makes for a better film adaptation.
@Kimble Simpson Doing it right and doing it accurately are two very different things. Look at masterpieces like Logan and The Dark Knight - they did something close, yet different to the original source material and it paid off. Same with the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy and the Russo Brothers' Captain America. All brilliant. Now look at the adaptationa that were almost 100% comic book accurate - the latest Hellboy, The Amazing Spider-Man films, the first two Fantastic Four films. All critical and financial bombs because people knew what would happen from the comics and/or they felt like cheap rehashes that didn't take the characters and stories in a different direction. Obviously do something that celebrates the source material, but doing something different isn't a bad thing.
@Kimble Simpson Okay, so that's an example of when you differ too far from the source material, only referencing it (although some would argue that those elements are only small and that they still stayed extremely faithful to the comics, which again can be a bad thing). Creatives and filmmakers need to find a balance between what works and what doesn't. It's very hard and a lot of great filmmakers have done it - so saying that it's not comic book accurate isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Awesome episode. I personally am seeing a lot of similarities between this and the Inhumans. Yes, the Inhumans were an experiment by the Kree to create a soldier forces for their war, but still.
