It makes you wonder if Dr Strange knew about the emergence too. He might have actually seen multiple timelines where they do defeat Thanos in Infinity War, but this results in the emergence happening. Essentially, Dr Strange knew they had to lose first, to then defeat Thanos, which would then prevent the emergence happening.
Don't thing so . A solution to stopping Thanos is probably not going to show eternals because they were never going to do anything about it even though they knew .
I don’t think it mattered as long as humans aren’t completely exterminated before the emergence. Thanos only delayed Tiamut’s birth; he didn’t stop it. Hulk’s snap was like jumper cables to an low/dead battery. It is interesting how the events all unfolded and are connected though. The Celestials are cosmic beings. Their perception of time and space is on a completely different scale than ours. Ajak wasn’t even bothered by Thanos because she knew that his presence and plan wouldn’t terminate Arishem’s mission.
@@johnsantos507 Ajak was the first one to know about the snapping because Arishem felt the power of the 6 stones being used at once. So Arishem told Ajak of what happened to half of the population on earth and other planets.
This shows that even though the snap in Endgame was necessary to bring back our favorite characters for future movies, it still was going to have massive consqeucnes moving forward and showing that Thanos has totally changed everything forever.
And the massive consequences are 6 marvel kids superhero movie for the next 40 years without break because this is what movies have become, unnecessary multi connected live action comic. Also they're going to reboot iron man and all dead people making it stake less, just time travel or bring back someone from other universe. Endgame made infinity war a pointless movie, just watch the movie industry shove what we've seen to our faces over and over again, reboots and remakes hell aunty died, bring aunty from earth 109 or just time travel or something else. Even dragon ball Z lacks real stakes and consequences. Look how many Batman there are in the last 2 years. Sorry for the rant, I just dislike the movie industry in general with their repetitive products because they can't make something new or original so they have to rehash the same thing we've seen in different ways, for like centuries or something. Oh and btw, in fast and furious 18, it is revealed that vin diesel had a twin brother who they've never mentioned to the audience before and turns out he's actually an alien who crash landed on earth and was raised by martha and wait.. yeah we'll just change the name. And they are teleported to the mcu universe and Dr strange give faf team cars with magic gas?! Idk man
It's one of those things that makes it better with hindsight. The Avengers needed "to lose" a particular way for events in a grand scale to end with the best result to defeat Thanos but to also deal with future threats.
Still doent make thanos a hero of the universe by slowing a celestials growth and celestials create millions maybe billions of new planets for life and only a few FEW planets they sacrifise for more celestials. and celestials created the infinity stones and stronger than the stones(in case you didnt know)celestial are the "light" and people like "null" the exact opposite of "light" destroy celestials just like that floating head that was killed by the sword of "null" which is the strongest symbiote the first symbiote that is in a form of a sword
Shows alot on how an alien races like Thanos are so advanced because they are willing to lose everything to make something happen while humans on the other hand have attachments and morality
I swear when you break down these plots, you unknowingly give Marvel new ideas and backup stories to cover up gaps and help interlink projects. They really should be paying you heavily for this. You are literally the bridge between so many questions and the serious entertainment we recieve. It's always worth it coming here to get some answers and hope for more.
@@rushabhtalati383 but they are celestials and might have massive amounts of energy so Thanos wouldn't think about it as the celestials must have greater energy than the stones on which was created by a celestial
@Reuel Richardson They can be destroy. Thanos with the fully equipped Infinity Gauntlet +Infinity Stones could easily kill the Celestial. Cuz why? Cuz Thanos at that point is already a God
@@joeyfit2778 bro what ??? He literally destroys worlds full of life just to spark deaths interest in him in the comics. Not only that but he makes the Hulk his pet, keeps him in a dungeon and feeds him the avengers and other heroes just so he can keep him alive and torment him with their dead bodies. Thanos is a villain.
Thanos is not your typical villain. He has a purpose bigger than himself. He did not want to conquer the universe, he wants to save it. I never saw a villain retire after killing trillions.
Oh, I get Ego now. Ego was even worse than Erishim because Ego actually wanted to create a new Celestial by taking the energy from Tiamut! And he needed an offspring to help him fight the other Celestials when he did that, which is why he was was trying to create as many children as possible across the galaxy.
nah ego didn't want to create a celestial he wanted to absorb all of the celestial shards to become a pure celestial he didnt look like he was a pure celestial cuz he has lesser powers than one so maybe he was an artificial celestial but failed and escaped.
Ego knew about the unborn celestial and his diabolical plan was to absorb them all while building an Army of Ego planets whom each would have given birth to duplicate Ego's across the universe to fight the celestial. Basically all ego,Ego, end of universe bu end of variety. Just Ego. Yikes.

Thanos knew it all along. Thats the balance he mentioned. I remember he said to Gamora: "I m the only one who knows that." or to stark, " you re not the only one cursed with knowledge"
nah thanos could just snapped away the celestials or all the ones growing in planets... thanos didn't give a monkeys he just wanted to balance universe because he saw planets starve through bad resource management... slowing the emergence was just a side effect
You know what I was thinking about when watching this video? I suddenly remembered the scene when Thanos told Tony; "You are not the only one cursed with the knowledge." Now I'm wholeheartedly wondering what that knowledge they were talking about was.
I just came back from seeing the movie, and I gotta say, on the one hand, I get that the Celestials are important because they make new life fill Creation (I picture every Galaxy being the 'home' of a Celestial), but on the other hand, the humans of MCU Earth, when they undid the Snap, they effectively DOUBLED the then-current amount of life in Creation. And I will point out, that when Thanos halved all life in Creation, he effectively stopped (or at least paused) ALL new Celestials from Emerging. Sure, if every galaxy in Creation is made by a singular Celestial, that means that each Celestial has/can create an unbelievable amount of life, and a single planet is a small price to pay for that. But when that one planet is responsible for undoing something as monumental as The Snap... I'd say we've earned outselves a pass. One galaxy does NOT trump half of all life in Creation PLUS all non-Emerged Celestials coming back on track.
A couple of questions though. Didnt the snap only put the population back by 70-80 years? I sure that was mentioned somewhere, but thats barely a blink in the eye for an incubating Celestial. Possibly saved the current Avengers lineup but would have affected whoever was protecting the planet in around 2100AD. Also another question, did the snap to return all the people of Earth only affect Earth, or did the Hulk Snap return everyone universe-wide? That would have been messed up for a number of planets who had no idea what was going on, to have half their population disappear and then reappear several years later!
Earth wasn't the only planet affected by the snap, the whole universe was, and some planets aren't as overpopulated as earth is and I think animals were affected too
I want a disney + show called "Titan" where it is just Thanos's story there. They could keep it going for quite a while but the CGI budget makes in improbable.
Dude it's Disney of course they can pull it off they have the funds and the world at their own disposal. It just means the child laborers have to work harder.
He didn't so much save them as delay the emergence. It was still going to happen. Thanos' plan never would have worked, because humans would have just made more humans and in a few decades they'd be back to pre-snap numbers. So, he altered the timeine of the emergence, but didn't prevent it
Endgame Thanos wanted to wipe the entire universe away all of it lol and yet it's not worth a single celestials attention whatsoever like 😂😂😂MCU is gonna go downhill from now on...it's wayyy to big for its own good
@@JuanVasquez-ph8be lol if celestial heard thanos decisicion wipe all living thing then of course they also jumpto the gun and join avengers the thing is they wasnt there to listen past thanos
He knew that after his home planet got detroyed... So he knew that all planets would face the same problem with the celestials if they became over populated... So he did whats right for the human race...but Avengers were to dumb not to realise that...because they were stuck on Earth and didn't know what Thanos knows... Yep Thanos was a pure Genius, even smarter than stark
But if he slowed every celestials growth then the whole universe is doomed as celestials protect it from duds like null and othere biengs that celestials are battling and desperately need more allies
It was already a hard hitter; With that one line he essentially said to Tony Stark that it may very well not be remembered that this will all be in vain… Because remember Tony Stark was the only person to actually draw blood
It would be perfectly acceptable if the Eternals had a 'home planet' and the celestials tasked some to protect various planets like Earth, in exchange for their planets protection - similar to the Silver Surfer story line, which would slot in nicely with the up and coming Galactus theory.
I thought they came from Olympia in the comics. Which was a megalopolis on Earth 🌎. In the movie 🍿🎥 it's the planet itself. Remember the Celestials mind wipes them. So they can feed Eternals all kind of 🐂 💩. This is to keep them docile and obedient.
I just want to put this out here. In Thor Ragnarok it was explained that Hela draws power from Asgard. Could it be that the Aesir (or possibly Hela only) can somehow tap the dormant Celestial power in Asgard (assuming Asgard has a dormant Celestial)? Also, I think it's inevitable that the Eternals/Young Gods would battle the Celestials. Surtur was able to destroy Asgard (still assuming it has a Celestial in it). Maybe Surtur could make a comeback and play a much bigger role in the future?
@@Bruce_Banner1962 Banner is just salty because you haven’t had a movie since the beginning of the MCU. I hope you’re wrong, I’m watching it this Saturday!

Imagine if Ersun the Judge popped up during Infinity War, and the Celestial inside Earth didn't emerge yet, would have Thanos have to fight along side the Avengers with the completed Infinity Gauntlet! I can just imagine the Avengers seeing THAT thing! The Avengers:' WTF IS THAT!' Thanos, with a expression of terror on his face:' We are so SCREWED!' Would Thor have known about the Celestials? I know this sounds insane, but, it's interesting to imagine! Would have the Eternals frickin' helped then? My imagination really ran wild here!
Great imagination! What if Galactus showed up with the silver surfer..?!! Total Chaos. Would the Celestial join the Avengers? Galactus is an enemy of them. Crazy
But he almost destroy the universe he was too dangerous like the original and his 2014 counterpart if he did the celestials will punish him for stopping the emergence plans.
Celestials are bound to a duty to keep the cycle of Creation and destruction constant, if there were to be no more Celestials, the Universe would fall into darkness since they were the ones creating new Galaxies to replace dying ones.
The Mutants should have been introduced during this movie too! Humanity is not equipped to deal with the Celestials, they are going to need the big guns, The Mutants, The Atlantians, The Inhumans, and The Avengers, Just to get a 10% chance of humanity surviving. Many other worlds like the Cree, should also check to determine if an egg is within their planet as well!
You just gave away the idea of a Grand Avengers plot! Even DC characters can be bought as already the concept of Multi Universe has been introduced! Over powered heroes like Captain Marvel etc will have made sense in those fights rather than being pointless in Avengers infinity war and Endgame because they were too powerful and offset the balance. Soo they literally had to write them off untill the last moment!
believe it or not, mutants have always been around. ( in the comics anyway.) three races were created at the same time by three different celestials. one made the deviants, one made mutants, and one made the eternals.
It was changed from the way it goes in the Marvel Comics comic books. In the M.C.U., the Infinity Stones can't destroy the Celestials. In the Avengers and Fantastic Four comics, the Infinity Gems can destroy the Celestials. So if Galactus only feeds on planets that have Celestial eggs, then the other near-omnipotent cosmic being called the Shaper of Worlds restores the balance by creating planets and maintaining the existence of those planets. The Shaper looks like a giant cyborg Skrull with pale white skin, and blue bionic body parts. Galactus looks like a giant human-like humanoid with a purple and blue cybernetic alien body armor that resembles the living organic Vibranium bodies that the Celestials are made out of. The Celestials as well as Galactus and all other cosmic beings are both empowered and enhanced by cosmic energy, the energy of the cosmos that comes from the Big Bang that had created the universe 14 billion years ago. It is also called the Power Cosmic. So Thanos' powers, and the Infinity Gauntlet's capabilities are not quite as powerful as they are in the comics. The comic books call them the Infinity Gems, and they are way stronger than what the M.C.U. portrays their power levels to be.
@@Carbon_Based_Life_Form I know that but since he appears that way to us humans and since he will not look any other way, why mention this? Stop trying to school me. I know what I'm talking about.
@@JacobHJones No because we the audience or the comic book readers will be seeing him as he is perceived on Earth by human beings. Just for convenience and for the sake of simplicity. They could have other characters mention differences or even briefly show what they see from their point of view, but Galactus, despite the way that his character's nature is, will not be made to look like anything except a giant humanoid. To do anything else would be insulting to Jack Kirby fans.
Titan definitely didn't birth a celestial. When a celestial is born the entire planet is vaporized. Plus don't you remember Thanos explaining that his people did this to their planet because of over population and limited resources? so I dont know how you could think that was a possibility
I love how The Eternals put Thanos's mission in a whole new light. Is it possible he knew about the Celestials and that was his ulterior motive for the snap?
@@cyrussoxlegion there is no "is it possible" just make up a answer in your head yes or no? Because at the end of the day it's a movie seeing it on the big screen is as real as thinking about it in your head. If you want to believe that was his intentions then believe it in your head, it will be the same as much true and real as if thanos said it himself in the movies because it's not real.
Thanos is an Eternal so obviously, he knows about the origins of his family. If you had followed background comic stories then you would have known. That's why the Eternals never interfered when Thanos appeared on Earth. Thanos is a very powerful being. Thanos in the movies was a nerfed version of the comic Thanos.
This theory contains a number of errors. Thanos was only concert on saving the universe from its overpopulation, and not because of the Celestials. Surely Thanos would have mentioned the Celestials if he wanted to prevent the birth of one of them. Therefore, Thanos was unaware of a Celestial on Earth or Celestials in general.
He was a malfunctioning Eternal. He knew an apocalypse was coming as it had many times before but it was scrambled so hisimd made sense of the knowledge best it could
In Avengers: Infinity war, Thanos said that Titan was in the 'brink of extinction' due to 'overpopulation,' so he presented the idea of killing half of the population. In Eternals, it was stated that a planet's population is supposed to grow to a certain amount of for the celestial living within for the re-emergence to succeed. This could be proof that the eternals assigned in Titan decided to save the planet and lived with deviants (e.g., Thanos) and Titan's original settlers since Eros, who's supposed to be an eternal, was just introduced in the show. However, due to the eternal's love for the planet, they could not accept Thanos' genocide proposal thus, in the end, failed to stop the re-emergence. This could be why Thanos wanted to wipe the entire universe's population to half, knowing it will delay the re-emergence just like Ajax said. It was stated that the eternals are able to survive the destruction of other planets due to their connection with the celestials within the planet, so that could be the reason we now see Eros well and alive... but we don't know what his real intension are. Was he sent by celestials to lure the earth-eternals to a trap or does he really know where Arishem brought the other earth-eternals too and the other titan-eternals could be there, and Eros wants to save them?
@@somebody1398 that’s what I fucking said what are you talking about? You said maybe the emergence happened on titan. Well if it had happened the whole fucking planet would be obliterated and it wouldn’t exist. So what are you on about?
The Eternals movie is a living example that all actions have consequences. No matter how well-intentioned you might be, it is possible that your seemingly benevolent actions might lead to grave consequences.
I am not particularly a hardcore marvel fan but I enjoy the movies made by them regardless. But I have to say, after seeing all this time quantum realm stuff, Stan Lee was an absolute genius. wtf.
I don't feel Hulk's snap "reset" the immergence timer back to 7 days. I feel more that the energy generated from Hulk's snap boosted all the cosmic energy, speeding up the emergence exponentially. That would explain why the emergence was still a long ways off before Hulk's snap. Heck, the energy from Thanos' snap may have also sped up the emergence exponentially as well. So pre Thanos snap, the emergence may have still had a thousand years. So in that view, Thanos still screwed over Earth.
@@highlifebreezy5827 after watching Eternals and hearing their official explanation about birthing new Celestials, I agree. Thanos saved the whole universe! Lol

What I liked about MCU is it hadn’t gotten so crazy with the number of characters and retcons and (levels of OP things that could kill everything) I feel like I’ll watch a couple more things but might abandon ship at some point, the “comics style” of creating an unlimited universe isn’t for me. Up till Endgame, MCU was still in the style of Lord of the Rings which makes for an impactful fantasy universe IMO, as opposed to “oh btw there’s the TVA and Kang and Celestials” and diluting past work
"When Thanos snapped his fingers, Earth become ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions. No one’s seen anything like it." ―Rocket Raccoon. How would either snap helped to slow down the emergence. Less people on planet but a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions would make up for it and more.
Maybe the radiation is the anti life radiation and had the opposite effect on the celestial emergence slowing it down! Cuz it needs life force but Thanos did the opp of that!

You said that Titan was destroyed by a Celestial, but if you remember in Avengers, Strange and Spider-Man and the guardians of the galaxy traveled to Titan but the planet wasn’t destroyed… it was just the surface that was destroyed by a war by the looks of it, not by a Celestial
Theory: It was Kang all along. The key to this theory is that if I remember correct Phastos stayed on Earth and wasn’t sucked up by Arishem at the end. Kang most likely needs him to develop something for him at some point and the only way this would happen is if Thanos snaps, then hulk snaps which then forces Ajak to fully realize her appreciation for humans and cause the eternals to stop the emergence and make Phastos want to stay. I’m not sure why Kang needs Phastos yet but it makes sense since he is the technological genius.
Tiamut is in the clips Marvel Studios released. He’s just standing in the back chilling standing still. I think they’re staying true to the comics and he’s going to be a tourist attraction in Cali.
It is my understanding that Thanos wanted to destroy half of life because of overpopulation and lack or resources; He never mentioned "emergence". Ok maybe he forgot or didn't care. Also, couldn't word of the emergence be spread on earth? Then everyone could be evacuated to another planet or something. Thanos had huge ships... so if he really wanted to "save" humans from the emergence, wouldn't evacuation be better than mass death?
I saw an early screening yesterday in Sydney Australia and I really enjoyed the movie. Can't understand why it was given such poor reviews amongst MCU movies. There are other MCU movies that I would rank below this. I do agree with you Charlie that there are more dialogue/character relationship arcs than action in this movie so it suits those who likes Endgame more than Infinity War.

For me, it was ok. I really like the concept and plot twist which makes it less predictable than other MCU films but felt like eternals could’ve been better TV series instead. Altho it’s 2 hours and 37 mins long, it still felt kinda rushed. That’s my point of view
Heres my main beef with it they decided to have all these character arcs without any movies to back that up so your left wanting to like these characters but it all just falls flat because you dont really get enough to go on personality wise for each character so essentially they are disposable i felt nothing watching these characters as they each felt like extras rather than leading characters they should have taken this one low and slow imo maybe start with 3 or 4 of the eternals and make the searching arc basically the first movie and the whole celestials arc the second movie would have went smoother imo as people would have that report with the characters in the second movie.
That’s an interesting interpretation, Charlie. I’ll add to it that it’a likely there was a trickle of cosmic energy increase in the 5 years, and 3 sudden major bursts in the intervening time: Thanos’ second snap, the Hulk’s, essentially doubling the cosmic energy on earth, and then Tony’s final snap unleashing the same amount of cosmic energy, likely tipping the scales on the new celestial’s growth. So, like everything else in the MCU, this is Tony’s fault, somehow.
I hope that this turns earth into a hotspot for any alien invaders in the MCU. Considering that it took a talking alien raccoon like 5 seconds to find Thanos’ farm planet because of the cosmic power. Hopefully they don’t just forget this plot point and use it for a future movie
I haven't watched the movie yet. But What I got from the trailers align with your version. Snapping and figuring out time jump and removing the stones from earlier timeline and creating a new timeline for a bit and then introducing them back and trimming it might have added more cosmic radiation. And we all know who dunnit.
Not just earth... all planets. The entire storyline and plot is utterly turning into the dumbest thing. They should just stop now. That cash cow is dried. They're on the cliff end of the whole marvel series becoming garbage and its leaving and creating too many potholes and timeline questions. They no longer care if the story makes sense as long as theater zombies keep buying tickets and popcorn for directors to make money.

Except why wouldn't he just mention it to anyone afterward? Yeah, there's a whole other massive dimension to this problem but I'll just keep it to myself.
Oh yeah, sorry guys, Charlie covered it. I really should watch the whole video before commenting. I'm still on the page that the Eternals are no relationship with Titan. Fingers crossed for a Galactus connection. "What the happened to this planet!"
I wish the _Eternals_ movie was declared non-canon to the MCU. It clashes with so much previously established MCU Lore. And I'm sorry, but trying to retcon Thanos' intentions into a "noble goal" to curb the growth of a Celestial seed inside Earth by halving the population MAKES EVEN LESS SENSE than Thanos' demented idea about "balance". 1) Thanos himself _never once_ gave that as explanation for snapping away "half of all (sentient?) life in the universe". If Thanos knew about Celestrial seeds inside specific planets, _you'd think he mention that!_ 2) If Thanos knew about the Celestrial seeds eating planets, why not just use the Infinity Gauntlet to kill the seeds?? (Heck, if that had been truly Thanos' goal, instead of his weird fixation on counting Lady Death in the comics or his strawman Malthusian reasoning in _Avengers: Infinity War,_ I think the Avengers would have _helped_ a "hero Thanos" to assemble the stones to power the gauntlet to save Earth and many planets from those Celestials! Someone cut the head off of Knowhere, after all. Let's go kill some gods, people!) 3) Even if you halve human population of Earth from 8 billion to 4 billion (which still is overpopulation, from my view as a trained ecologist, but that's a far too complex topic to go into here), so what? That would only postponed the growth of the Celestrial seed by a few decades because humans would quickly breed back their numbers. You know when global population hit 4 billion? In 1974, the year I was born! In less than 50 years, we doubled our population. And in 1920, global population was only 1.9 billion. What brought the death rate out of synch with the birth rate and unleashed unsustainable population growth of our species (we who are too dumb to reduce birth rate to 2 per couple after infant death rate dropped towards zero in developed countries and was massively reduced even in underdeveloped countries) was invention of antibiotics in the 1940s, the scientific discovery of germ theory and antiseptics in the late 19th century, the building of proper sewers and (late) sewage treatment plants, and artificial fertilizer (which brought with it a whole host of new problems in the longer run, like Death Zones in the oceans due to massive "algae blooms" of cyanobacteria using up all the oxygen in the water and excreting neurotoxins, and coral reefs near coastal river mouth being overgrown with algae and dying due to fertilizer run-off from fields into the rivers) to boost food production. Previously to the 20th century, population had been more or less stable around 1 billion for centuries (and we already had wars over resources and habitable land then! And already environmental destruction, even though back then it was mostly local, like the Easter Island... or Albania and Lebanon being deforested during Roman times and never recovering from it) or only slightly growing, or even temporarily decreasing during times of massive pandemics. 4) If Thanos' plan had been about slowing the growth of Celestial seeds (in the most round-about and genocidal way possible) by reducing population numbers, _why not just tell humans and other affected populations on seed planets about it??_ Ask them to voluntarily keep their numbers stable and low. 5) If Thanos' plan had been about slowing the growth of Celestial seeds, why did he and his armies also commit ideologically-driven 50/50 genocide of people on planets which have no Celestial seeds inside? Why did he snap half of the Sovereign? The Sovereign reproduce only by cloning and use population planning to keep their numbers exactly stable, and they didn't seem to face food scarcity, so why snap them? What "balance"? Thanos even slaughtered half of the handful of surviving Asgardians on that spaceship fleeing from the destruction of the artificial discworld of Asgard -- after Hel had already slaughtered a lot of them --, at a time when Thanos was already gathering the Infinity Stones to snap half the universe! And then shortly thereafter when Thanos used the Gauntlet, half of _that_ surving half of the Asgardian survivors of a planetary apocalypse and preceding invasion and massacre on the spaceship were also turned to dust! Madness! And if Thanos' Snap also affected animal species (and plants? fungi? bacteria?), the Snap must've wiped out a whole lot of critically endangered animal species by reducing their numbers below the threshold where they have enough breeding pairs and a large enough gene pool to survive. 6) Also, if the Eternals were there to protect the Celestial baby seed inside Earth, and other groups of Eternals were guardins seeds inside other planets, how come Ego (who is a rogue Celestial) could just go and plant his own _literal_ seed into the soil of so many planets in the galaxy, in his plan to have those offshoots of himself grow and consume all the biomatter and non-biological matter of those planets to make them part of Ego? 7) And what about Odin, the Protector of the Nine Realms? He knew all about Infinity Stones, Thanos and whatnot. You would think Odin would know about other immortals hanging out on Earth (the Eternals) with a spaceship, and that there was a Celestial seed inside "Midgard" about to eat the planet and its people, no? What about the Ancient One, who was Sorcerer Supreme before Dr Strange? What about Dr Strange himself? The Sorcerer Supreme is tasked with protecting the Earth. You would think when Strange sifted through billions of possible futures, he would have noticed _a giant creature erupting from the Earth!_ Last but not least, you would think Kang would use his TVA to make sure Earth is not destroyed prior to his own birth on the timestream in the 31st century.
The ending of eternals is very interesting, Arishem the judge a “Celestial” shows up on earth and rolls away the clouds like a scroll, where every eye sees him, he then proceeds to tell the eternals he will scan their memories and will see if humanity is worthy after that he will return “for judgement” Very interesting predictive programming of what’s to come very soon, As it is written so shall it be, even So Lord come quickly!
I got a different understanding than the explainer in this video. My understanding is that the three snaps from the "INFINITE STONES" released so much "cosmic energy" that, that energy jump started the emergence and that's why the celestial host was ready to emerge. Otherwise it could have been several more million years before it emerged because of the low grade cosmic energy it got from humans.
@@audreyangeline7359 No but when Thanos did that last snap. It wasn't on Earth. So that would not have affected the Celestial inside Earth. Just like the snap didn't affect the rest of the planets Celestials inside other planets because the cosmic radiation was not as concentrated as it was on Earth from the Infinite Stones.
I thought this same thing. and Thanos clearly explained that he was trying to prevent a lack of resources for all living things. nothing was ever said about trying to stop celestials.
@@625098evan not to mention, this whole celestial thing in a planet is a rip off of world of warcraft. plus, since the celestials are the ones that created most life in the multiverse, i'd think they might have a problem with thanos killing half of it.

@@Marchoupi That's okay, it's your opinion but I think the movie is good enough, I just think people expected the movie to be action-packed and fast-paced, when the purpose of the Eternals movie is to explain the history of the Earth and how it develops from the beginning, with the concept of God/Creator also known as the Celestials. I would still encourage people to watch it despite the bad rating, go in there with an open mind and adapt to the differences.

5:25 A correction here: The population still grew for five years, after the Thanos killed half of them. Then the population destroyed five years ago came back additionally. So the total number of people after coming back is way higher, then five years before! If at all, they still would have about 2,5 years left still, when they could have stopped Thanos. And That`s a silly excuse to be honest. Wit all the infinity stones, Thanos or anyone, could have stopped/destroyed the celestials before they could cause any harm! What do you think?^^
People u gotta understand that Celestials are doing something for the greater good. The eternals, deviants and humans are all Arishem's creation. Its his choice afterall what happens to his own creations.
Just because your priorities and methods are different from the rest, people make you a villan but it's funny because those "villans" have set priorities which are actually far more important and crucial to avoid a bigger problem later on which nobody sees. Thanos was a smart man 💯
You've just answered my argument that I had against Thanos' methods. I originally thought he would have had more success and no resistance from anyone if he just made all life 50% less fertile so fewer numbers would be born in future generations but if there was a metaphorical 'ticking clock' he was working against then he wouldn't have had the time to wait that plan out...
This movie has me thinking on starlords background. Ego essentially created another celestial from reproducing with civilizations. He also referred to using starlord as a “battery”. Does this mean he wanted starlord to store the other worlds energies that he wanted to conquer? If so, will he energize his “battery” and restore his powers? This would also justify why he only used his powers on the planet ego because he was already surrounded by the energy of a celestial(the equivalent power of a planets life energy)
In Endgame Rocket even said after The Snap that it created a huge wave of cosmic energy on Earth. Thus making it ground zero. I can’t remember the scene in the film when says it. I can’t wait to see this.
I feel like Thanos and Eros were Eternals who also stopped an Emergence. And just as the Deviant was able to absorb the powers of Eternals, Thanos absorbed the powers of Deviants.

Here’s a thought, who is more powerful at the current moment. Arishem/Celestials or Kang? They’ve both just been set up as Thanos level villains, so will they meet up? What effect do the celestials have on the multiverse? What about the watcher? These things probably have comic answers but I am really excited to see how the MCU handles it all
Arishem/Celestials are clearly the most powerful entities in the MCU. Kang is only a human from the distant future who just happens to be a genius with advanced technology. So in context of this post, the power levels are: -Arishem/Celestials -Thanos -Kang The Celestials have the power to create and destroy life on a massive level. They are essentially immortal and can only die by another celestial or power of combined infinity stones (until revealed otherwise).
@@bojo_h well technically Tiamut gave his cosmic power to the Unimind as well and he’s only frozen and idk if he’s actually dead dead. The same thing happened to the Deviants who were frozen under ice for millennia and thawed out due to global warming. So it could set up a later return. Tiamut in the comics is also known as the Dreaming Celestial. He’s arguably the strongest and at least amongst the most powerful of them. In the comics, when he awakes, he attacks Arishem as he’s the Judge that decides whether a planet’s civilization should continue to live or die. I think the ending pays homage to the comics without following the original story too closely. Instead of attacking Arishem, Tiamut gives his powers to the Eternals to create the Unimind. Same as Ikaris and Sprite despite initially fighting the remaining Eternals.
@@atlien1988what if I had said he who remains? I’m just thinking about how he was basically god of the whole MCU until Sylvie killed him. Were celestials even aware of the sacred timeline? Would it even matter to them or would they trump he who remains’ power? Probably not cause it was at the end of time, and I guess I was mistaken to call the celestials villains. Still hoping they turn out to have evil motivations cause I would LOVE to see them as big bads, even though obviously they’re absurdly powerful
Great exposition! One problem though... It is not Celestials killing other celestials. Their are Celestial-like beings called The Horde, that are the opposite force to the Celestials, and are responsible for the Deviants just as the Celestials are for the Eternals. That is who is killing them, or who should be, according to Marvel's lore. The existence of the Deviants is supposed to confirm that, as they are directly connected the The Horde. And to make the threat even greater, there is an even more powerful entity who rules over The Horde known as The Fulcrum. How that entity scales to the Living Tribunal, or the Pillars of Reality (Oblivion, Death, Life, Infinity, Eternity) is unknown. But we know that it is more powerful than the Celestials, as it commands beings on their level.
Thanos was not a psychopath. His argument was to bring BALANCE. He was an extreme environmentalist of sorts. When civilizations misuse and over consume resources, then extreme measures are brought about to correct the situation. Thanos was raw and made many plausible points, but he was no phychopath. Psychopaths don't care about balance. Hitler and Stalin are both prime examples.
He was a psychotic . Why not triple the resources or something else instead of murdering half of all life . Or at least make it that half of population can't reproduce , it's better than dusting them . Plus after the avengers attempted to stop him he said he would know destroy everything in the universe. He was nuts .
@@licensed_beheader if they tripled the resources the celestial would have grown faster. Like the video said, the emergence would had happened 7 days after he attacked He did not say he wanted to destroy the universe he said he would wipe out humanity for disrupting his plan.

Would've been nice if we had a DS cameo.

Im sure this is also one of the reason why Doctor Strange must let Thanos win first, in all the possible outcomes
I wonder if the Snap killed half the Celestials too, since they're also technically "life", no?
Guess will have to wait for Arishem veredict over Earth...

That would have been messed up for a number of planets who had no idea what was going on, to have half their population disappear and then reappear several years later!
most probably some beings on other planets knew about the infinity war happening.
It have to have brought everyone back, because aliens Bruce never even knew about like Drax also got brought back.
IIRC, Marvel was going around each planet helping them after the snap.

I don't feel Hulk's snap "reset" the immergence timer back to 7 days. I feel more that the energy generated from Hulk's snap boosted all the cosmic energy, speeding up the emergence exponentially. That would explain why the emergence was still a long ways off before Hulk's snap.
Heck, the energy from Thanos' snap may have also sped up the emergence exponentially as well. So pre Thanos snap, the emergence may have still had a thousand years. So in that view, Thanos still screwed over Earth.
End of the day Thanos was saving the earth

Theory: It was Kang all along. The key to this theory is that if I remember correct Phastos stayed on Earth and wasn’t sucked up by Arishem at the end. Kang most likely needs him to develop something for him at some point and the only way this would happen is if Thanos snaps, then hulk snaps which then forces Ajak to fully realize her appreciation for humans and cause the eternals to stop the emergence and make Phastos want to stay. I’m not sure why Kang needs Phastos yet but it makes sense since he is the technological genius.

It is my understanding that Thanos wanted to destroy half of life because of overpopulation and lack or resources;
He never mentioned "emergence".
Sadly most of the reviews aren't even about the actual movie, it's mostly homophobes unhappy with the same sex relationship shown in eternals 🙁

I'm still on the page that the Eternals are no relationship with Titan. Fingers crossed for a Galactus connection. "What the happened to this planet!"
Watching the Eternals today in a new local cinema nearby!
Thanks for the info, Charlie!
How was it?
I wish the _Eternals_ movie was declared non-canon to the MCU. It clashes with so much previously established MCU Lore. And I'm sorry, but trying to retcon Thanos' intentions into a "noble goal" to curb the growth of a Celestial seed inside Earth by halving the population MAKES EVEN LESS SENSE than Thanos' demented idea about "balance". 1) Thanos himself _never once_ gave that as explanation for snapping away "half of all (sentient?) life in the universe". If Thanos knew about Celestrial seeds inside specific planets, _you'd think he mention that!_
2) If Thanos knew about the Celestrial seeds eating planets, why not just use the Infinity Gauntlet to kill the seeds??
(Heck, if that had been truly Thanos' goal, instead of his weird fixation on counting Lady Death in the comics or his strawman Malthusian reasoning in _Avengers: Infinity War,_ I think the Avengers would have _helped_ a "hero Thanos" to assemble the stones to power the gauntlet to save Earth and many planets from those Celestials! Someone cut the head off of Knowhere, after all. Let's go kill some gods, people!)
3) Even if you halve human population of Earth from 8 billion to 4 billion (which still is overpopulation, from my view as a trained ecologist, but that's a far too complex topic to go into here), so what?
You would think when Strange sifted through billions of possible futures, he would have noticed _a giant creature erupting from the Earth!_
Last but not least, you would think Kang would use his TVA to make sure Earth is not destroyed prior to his own birth on the timestream in the 31st century.
Hey, buddy? It's a theory, not a fact. The film doesn't actually confirm this.

Technically it was 4 snaps cause Thanos used the stones to destroy the stones. So maybe 4 was too much.

So in context of this post, the power levels are:
-Arishem/Celestials
-Thanos
-Kang
The Celestials have the power to create and destroy life on a massive level. They are essentially immortal and can only die by another celestial or power of combined infinity stones (until revealed otherwise).
@@atlien1988 or can be killed by a unimind apparently
Celestials aren't really villains, they're cosmic forces of nature doing what comes naturally to them, like Galactus.
Thanos: a small price to pay for salvation.
Thanos: hardest choices require the strongest wills.
Thanos : I call it mercy .
It all makes sense
Does that mean avengers were villains? 😂😂 omg
I seriously enjoyed this film; the lore itself gets very interesting alongside with the MCU.
So multiplying Celestials theoretically is a bad thing ? good to know
They can't die. So eventually they'd ruin everything no? Adding but never subtracting.
Thus an opposing cosmic force was created to control their population....Galactus
That's why galactus eats planets and if the numbers for the celestials go up the universe gets destroyed.
