I Know Right??? Perfect.
I want steady hands😩
I know this isn’t exactly an art related comment but I forgot how soothing your voice is, especially as it’s been particularly hectic lately 😅
I remember back in mid 2017, his guides got me started on properly drawing anime characters, feels good to watch his videos again~
Mark: Flashback
Me: Ah, yes, fleshbag.
Mark, you're such a inspiration. I'm so glad you're still uploading videos- you inspired me to start my own channel, and I also learned a lot of what I know now (art) through your art tutorials. Keep up the great work and have a great day!
I agree. An inspiration and such a great teacher too!
This inspires me to try something new. I've always instinctively gone for the lines of the second one.
The middle one (where the lines dont touch) would be great for a "flashback" too.
I like that one most i think.
I'm freakin' PSYCHED for this new novel! After your past few entries, I'm basically a customer for life. Great work, man!
The fifth line style reminds me of rough sketches. I use those to get an idea of character, but I tend to fade them out or erase them completely if I choose to use the sketch for a more complete image.
Ugh I watched so much trash videos today, this video is so refreshing it's so much better.
Thank you
Ooooh you have a new graphic novel coming!! So excitingggg 🤩
The fourth style reminded me of early, low poly 3-D character models in Games...
i actually started drawing my own webtoon after working on my drawing skills and writing for 2 years,in drawing terms your videos really helped out,it has 2 chapters out,but aside from that, just came here to say your videos helped out, thanks for all of them.
Do you have a link for your webtoon?
@@mangolie21 I decided after making 6 big chapters that I should go back and remake ep 0 after I finish ep 7 8 9 and 10, atm I have finished ep 7 and 8,half way throw ep 9, so I want to at least give a good impression with ep 0 (which was a pile of shit btw) so I feel ashamed to promote it atm, but if j remember I'll make sure to come back and post the link.
Edit thanks for being interested.
Your line strokes are like sword strikes, quick and fluid 😳 I admire artists who draw this way, there's a tremendous amount of mileage and confidence in that type of markmaking
When I draw I generally use two different methods for inking and pencilling. For pencilling, I use the quick scratchy lines, but for inking I use a dip pen and brush and alternate between slow and fast lines.
Still the best art teacher on UA-cam! I really like how you pushed and pulled the lines equally, I tend to just pull them. But yeah, this was very informative and inspiring, thank you!
Hey Mark, we've read all of the Brody's Ghost books and they were an amazing read. The work that you do is incredibly inspirational so much that we've been inspired to make our own artwork. Thank you so much for everything!
This is actually very informative! Its so cool to see all these different styles all together ✨
I don't really come here to learn. I just like to hear Mark talk.
Great stuff as always, Mark! I laughed when you indicated how teachers tend to feel about type 5 style design. I feel the insistence on "clean" work has affected a lot of budding artists negatively.
As a type 5 style myself, it's satisfying to know I'm still doing things "right" as long as it looks good in the first place!
Bro Mark Crilley has always been so OP all these years, I never know how he can draw so good even WHEN he films lol! So amazing!
Didn't know you had a new comic book coming out! That's awesome
Can't wait to read your next work!
My classmate had this Mastering Manga book and while he was doing it on class
I found out that he was just tracing the illustrations
I actually really needed this advise and type of video. Its been real fun watching your videos for 6 years now! I've gotten a lot better and you helped me stay in the right mindset so I improve instead of quitting.
Ooooh! I'm so excited you are making another graphic novel!
Also this video was a really great demonstration. I enjoyed it.
I haven't seen a lot of other UA-camrs talk about this or make direct comparisons in this way.
Thank you.
Wonderful video, thank you! I'm always so pleased to see that you are still uploading, it's been an absolute honour to be drawing with you all these years. Best of luck with your new book!
Nice to know you’re still making videos, can’t believe I ever stopped watching your channel
Thank you
Super cool art video Mark! I follow several artists on here but I particularly like your style and your characters. Thank you Mr Crilley!
I was just thinking about this! I want to do some drawings for Inktober, but I didn't want to do my usual way of inking, the slow and controlled.
this is so beautiful
Good to see another tutorial mark, keep it up !
Thanks for this video. This instantly made my art better.
I was doing alot of solid lines with no gaps in my art and wasn't sure why nothing was coming out the way I wanted it to.
Seeing your first 2 line works really help me understand the importance of giving lines room to breathe.
Thanks again.
I feel like I learn so much when there's very little time lapse (this one to me had the perfect dose). :) Thanks always Mark for great videos!
Love your videos Mark. Keep doing what you do
This was super informative! Love this channel.
I love your voice! So soothing
I am so excited for the book coming next march. I have some expectations about it.
Oh my god I have not seen your content in such a long time you've improved so much since I first subscribed to you congratulations on your career
Nice bass intro, really got me ready for the video
5 is the one I use looking forward to seeing how much I can change it up!😃
This was such a helpful video for me. Thanks so much Mark!
Thank you for this tutorial .
I wanna learn more about this Megan character 😍 I love her hair !
The second one is so accurate!
blending the first 3 would have been awesome!
great ways ill try to use them
Hi Mark, thanks to your amazing art and writing advice I'm now creating my own graphic novel! You're a great artist, and I can't wait for more videos from you! :D
Also, I'm excited for the new graphic novel!
Great video! I think that was a valuable lesson for understanding line work and speed and how that alters the look of your art.
Love your book, Last Summer with Cass.
FANTASTIC!!
I’ve learned soooo much from you! 🤗
I've usually done the connected line method, but I like the open lines of #1 and #3. I need to try them.
I think it would be a good idea if you add a link to the Finished artwork at the description of the video to allow followers to give it a try and post it back to your FB or Insta.
Watching you draw is so relaxing, thank you for limiting your time lapses.
I'm a big fan of your work! I have mastering Manga and Mastering Manga two! Love the books
I've needee a video exactly this
My favorite line is the Last One and third drawing 😍
Nice video Mark, i enjoyed the commentary. ^o^
oh damn been long time since iv been here, good to see you still here
Wow the quality look really different,I might give this a shot
Mr.Crilley is the best art teacher on UA-cam!!!
I could fall asleep to his voice. And... I also NEEDED this video!! Thanks so much
I often do. When I have a bad day and can’t sleep I turn on Crilley and it definitely calms me down!
Very interesting video, thanks it definitely inspires me to try actually drawing lineart for once.
But the blushies. Also, awesome job with the line work. You've inspired me several times over with your videos, it's always a pleasure
Personally I really like how the scratchy lineart looks with hair not so much with other things though
i watched ur videos everyday like 3 years ago 😂😂 nothing has changed and i love it
This guy is the new Bob Ross his voice is so relaxing 😂
Great video, I always want to ink my line more smoother since my look like the 5th one. I really like the sketch look but I want make look cleaner.
I always draw in tiny strokes like style 5 but I ink it out after I SWEAR🙌😭
awesome video
I learn more... nice
I would love to see a Brody's ghost TV series.
It's interesting that the second one seems to translate better on camera.
Back after a good while. I've been watching you since I was a kid 😵🤪
I'll be 27 on the 4th of October.
I do lines in ink, but in a style like #1, just a bit slower
The 5th one is Bravely Default artstyle.
Well, honestly I hate linearts, to be precise lineart made by me. I love the way like pencil sketch looks like and always I want to save this look. So if I have to make sth with ink then I use nib pen. In my opinion lines made this way looks nicer.
Watching your videos again after years of not drawing...
I gave up on drawing years ago but man, I wish I didn't do that.
Back then I was very discouraged because everyone is just better than me, I did my best but I keep on failing. Maybe it is too late for me afterall huh
This profile picture is the last work I did, I draw it on paper and then scan it to add colors, man where did my passion go...
The fourth one has a constellation kind of look to it
Await you ART MAKURA DETYAM pleas😘😘😘😘😘
Hi Mark, could you do a video talking about your new graphic novel? :-)
Wow 😍😍🤗❤️
Wow
Long time no see!
please make a video on how to draw lightning with ink
I feel like I just got a whole college line class in this video
Last time I was this early he was still on book 1 of Miki falls
*hey mark you should of use a thin brush for inking just saying😀*
Or you can be a hack artist like me and purchase an app that smooths your pen input so you get those sexy lines with no real effort or practice.
Ooooh, I think I like the first one the best just because it's the most similar to my style along with style 2.
And I like how casual you are when talking as well
what is the best way to draw comic book rain? and would you be willing to make a tutorial on rain and the weather in general, not too many tutorials on that subject.
Mark do you do still do any outdoor artwork? and if you do what kind of supplies to you use outside?
Can you do a portrait of our great President?
That would be epic!!
I wish you would do a mini webtoon series XD
Hey I've used all of those styles! I prefer the naturalness of the first style when it comes to things like hair and clothes.
I really like the look of coloured pencil for outlines actually, but there's a problem with it when you go to erase the pencil lines underneath. Ink survives the process, but coloured pencil doesn't. Does anyone have any tips?
PS I've read all the books you mentioned at the end except MM3 and I found them very helpful! Just in case anyone's interested in getting them.
Please can you do an eagle tutorial in your how to draw tutorials🙏 ❤
Can you please make a tutorial to draw sakata gintoki please
2:52 "One of the drawbacks of using a pencil-" WAS THAT A PUN
By the way I love your channel, your tips are always so helpful! ^^
Hello could you do another animal drawing?
maybe you over lap the last one to the first one
it could get interesting result
i'd love to draw in #1 but i naturally get into doing those chicken scratches you see in #5. i wonder if there's any drills or exercises i can do to help me towards #1 or #2
