does anyone else think that mark's voice never
gets boring
His voice is incredibly soothing, one time I fell asleep from watching his video x3 Idk
he should be one of those guys that hypnotize people to sleep
I listen to videos just cause I like his voice sometimes. LOL
hahaha hopefully mark reads this and realises he should talk more
yea don't worry about talking too much it doesn't get tiring.
My Art teacher say's that i could be the first ever person in my school to get an A or A+/* on GCSE art. She does look up to me a lot because of my skills in drawing. And of course you Mark Crilley you encourage me! Thank you for all the videos you make! :D
Congrats, I hope you do get an A!
Is your school not focused on art or is it new? Because I always get A's on art!
Nadia Terezon Thank you. My school is not to focused on art as i wish it was but, i do want to find a collage that does focus on art when i finish secondary school
Art 1-3 and art 4 coming up soon, and Mark crilley are they only 2 sources my skills have come from besides natural talent that they both aged like a fine wine.
***** That's not bad! That's pretty good. I would be happy if I got that!
KothsGamerHub XD dat aged fine wine
It's almost as if the video itself just went and said, "Alright, Crilley, wrap it up."
I prefer the narrated videos. Great drawing as always can't wait till next week when you add colour.
Thanks Andrew!
markcrilley please publish your music
Are you from the United Kingdom Andrew????
I anticipate you saying "real soon" with a little too much excitement. Thanks for the incredible inking tips!
You're very welcome :)
That editor's note about the early music made me smile XD You were instantly forgiven.
Thanks Saiyusa! :)
Finally watching one of your narrated videos made me realize why I love your channel so much.
Thanks. ^_^
Can't wait for Part 2!! Awesome as always Mark Crilley!
i can't wait for part 2. i'm really exited to see the color for this drawing. keep up the fantastic work mr. crilley!
i think the combination of narration and time lapse is perfect :)
Thanks Maisy!
A nice illustration! I'm looking forward to next week's video!
Another great video, Mark! It's very hypnotic watching you draw. It always gets me in the mood to do some sketching. And the way that you explain why you add certain details and not others is really helpful. I cannot wait to see the coloring phase for this one.
Also, I think your narrations are perfectly fine. It's not enough just knowing the techniques, but the reasoning behind them is what makes them feel authentic. If you know why you're drawing a figure in a certain way, it becomes more natural to add the appropriate details. And that's what I like to learn from you. So thanks for these wonderful videos!
Thank you for this series Mark Crilley! I hope to soon write/illustrate my own children's book, and I will definitely use these videos for helpful tips! 😃
This video was so helpful! The way I taught myself to draw was to actually go straight to the inking stage and make all my details and things there. I've never really tried starting with pencil first, but for what I do, the drawings come out pretty good. With your advice, they'll probably be even better! Thanks Mark!
love this series! can't wait for part 2!
I love all your videos and you have encouraged me to become a self taught manga artist, and my grandfather had a bunch of pens, pencils, and other tools. So in that stash I found a Dixon Ticonderoga
i am not a huge fan of Manga, but when you draw it and your voice made me subscribe! keep up the good work!
I must say, I always like when you made a narrated video, I always learn something. Thanks a lot for your great, great video Mark
This was AWESOME! Great vid, I love these videos, when I can personally witness and learn from a master at his craft!
I have to say that with your help I becoming more efficient when I'm drawing in paper an occasional. I can't wait to get all your books keep doing a good job
Your videos are really inspiring I watch them when I'm having no motivation on drawing and it helps
I haven't drawn anything serious in years, but I keep coming back here to listen and look on what you are doing. You have a great talent, not only in drawing, but actually explaining your thinking and everything around it. Incredibly interesting to watch, despite me having put the pen on the shelf for the time being.
Thanks so much-- I really appreciate you watching my vids!
Very kind of you to share your process, good insight.
I've found that drawing less with the wrist and more with the elbow and whole arm helps to lessen strain on the hand, I used to get awful pain in my hand from resting to much on paper and using wrist alot so I rethought the way I drew, with practice I was happy to find it sped up my fluidity and it helped me to create more wispy and less shaky flowing lines. It's also really great for quick gesture drawing.(sharing to help prevent possible injury and pain of fellow artists.) Thanks alot Mark for sharing your great videos. :) I really admire your talent and dedication always impressed to see hand inking done without digital stabilizers. You have a wonderful steady hand.
Yess, Mark, this is where your best vids lay, in your long detailed vids!
Thanks Jacob!
Everytime I have any objections if I should try to make my own comics/manga or even just draw in general and I see your video I get my high spirits back. You explain everything really good which makes learning a lot faster and easier :)
Thank you! :)
I do too
I love listening to your Voice. It's very calming, and even if you talk about other things than the drawing, i like your sense of humor and always enjoy listening. Keep it up :)
I also love the long narrated videos. I always learn something new
The one thing I love about art is that gradually you can bring your drawings to life! that's why I inspire to follow animation
Very cool to see you build an image up like that. Thanks for sharing.
Its so good! I can't wait to see the next video
Great job as always Mark!
Love this! The Iron Giant movie was my favorite movie growing up.
Man, Love to hear you talk (never too much), you could even do your "Observations" over the timelapse; love it, especially "Old man timelapse!"
Great video, Mark. You make amazing videos and mangas series, you're great one.
I love hearing you talk!! I could listen to you all day!
Thanks Mia!
I loved the Iron Giant, childhood memories are coming back to me.
Making a short manga book for a friends birthday so this video was really helpful! Thank you!! You're such an inspiration for me. :)
Well, I certainly don't get tired of your voice!
Can't wait for the coloring part!
(Mr. Crilley! I actually found some of your books [Miki Falls] in our bookstores! I cried tears of joy and bought two of them. ;-;)
Thanks mark! I've wanted to draw so good ever I since started! You have helped me in different styles and techniques of art, thanks again and keep up the good work :)
Your voice is fantastic--it's the reason I watch your videos! Such soothing
explanation. :D
Looks awesome, mark!
Oh god, I remember The Iron Giant! Cried my eyes out at the end of it haha
PS-Am I the only one who thought that Mark was gonna do a speech when the music kicked in a bit early?
I love the idea of this mark :D I think I've seen another 2 videos like these on your channel, but it's nice to see it again. Always love ur art!
Great work already! It makes me want to see you draw master chief!!
I LOVE that movie, I didn't think anyone really knew about it
great video. can't wait for next weeks video. I'm a poor illustrator but i really enjoy the colouring process. especially using watercolours. most the time when i draw its just so i can colour it.
I love the Iron Giant! One of my favorite movies of all time! Love your videos, too!
Omg, I loved the iron giant. One of my favourite ever films. Also, great video, it has really helped my ability to take time, and refine. :D
Love your lessons, I recently bought your "Mastering Manga" book and I love it. :)
Really interesting! I love your drawings!!
Another great video! Cant wait for part 2 :D
Hi mark. You inspired me to draw manga and create my own. Thank you
Very helpful vid! looking forward for part deux
I think the music coming in early really made this more exciting :D
please never stop narrating your videos! i love it when you talk >.
Thanks!
I love the inking!! AWESOME IDEAS.... :)
I love these sorts of videos the best!!!!
You are my biggest inspiration! Thank you for making such awesome videos :D
I watched part 2 of this illustration first, and my first thought was "Wow, that looks like the Iron Giant"! Watched this afterwards with a little feeling of triumph from having recognized your inspiration.
^_^
Your videos are so helpful. (unrelated, but I wish I had made videos like this when I was young and drawing so I could come back as an adult to see how far i've come. Most of my childhood drawings were lost to time)
I can't wait until the coloring, this drawing was so cool!
Thanks!
Sure I enjoyed it. You've completely inspired me to do some art and buy some ink.
I remember watching the Iron Giant countless times as a kid, this video makes me want to watch it again, it never bores me ^^
I immediately saw the Iron Giant resemblance! Such a fantastic movie and great art! One of my favorite artists, Ryan Woodward, worked on some of the animation (mostly explosions :)
You don't talk too much at all :) i just started getting into drawing and animating and i'm marathoning all your videos :3
I would love to see a redesign of Miki Falls in Mark Criley's new/more developed style! We all grow and change as artists over the years and I think it would be interesting to see the differences!
I was thinking of the iron giant as soon as you outlined it.
I have my BFA and was an illustration major. You videos have taught me more than most of my teachers. Wish I could've had these ad a kid!! Keep it up please!!
I liked it when the music came in over Mark's voice, it sounded like he was about to break into a song.
I love your videos! Thanks for sharing!
this is such a cool drawing idea Crilley! Thank you for making awesome videos as always! ^___^
Thanks Haley. :)
I really enjoyed this video and I'm looking forward to watch colouring process. I am amazed by the way you image the first simple concept of robot and a girl. My biggest problem when I am trying to make an illustration is to think this basic lines and concept of whole picture. Adding details is easy part for me.
Awesome work as always!
You're drawings are amazing
I love it. I was surprised and glad you didn't do the typical overalls and giant gloves look on her, and the robot came out amazing. I wish you would do an illustrated works book on your video pieces, it would be nice to collect in full color.
your videos are amazing. you inspired me to start drawing.
the unseen editing is the deadliest
Thank you so much for these 'technical' drawing videos! Really looking forward to the coloring-part!! ;D
Greetings,
Wendy
Thanks Wendy!
Hey Marc
Thanks a Lot ! I Started to draw manga and watched Ur Videos, You Teached me everything and now i startet to draw my own manga
I wish i could Thank you much more :)
Excuse my english im from Germany
Man, freaking love the iron giant! Such a great movie.
I find it interesting, your comment about how you cannot see the entire image in your head before you begin, because I myself am the opposite. Rather, I see a masterpiece in my head, but when I commit it to paper, it doesn't always look the way I envisioned it, and I have to make changes based in the areas of which I lack skill.
Another great video. An amazing help for one like me who wants to become an illustrator :)
Great illustration you inspire me a lot
your designs inspires me a lot .. I can not say I know it is a very good thing .. loved this video lesson ...
Thanks Roque!
Keep up good work mark! Its great to see you draw :-)
thanks mark, i totally forgot the iron giant's name, so i couldn't search it. now i can finally watch it. oh, the memories :)
Could you please do more series on character design and coming up with concept drawings?
BTW MARK THNX FOR INSPIRING ME INTO DRAWING AND DESIGNING NOW THAT I AM BECOMING AN ARCHITECT MAN THANK YOU
Hey Mark! Your Mastering Manga Book 1 & 2 have really helped me with my manga! I would love for you to have a Mastering Manga Stories! I think it would help a lot of your fans! And this video is another great video like always!
very enjoyable mark, being a fan of robots in general this was right up my street. it even gives me a few ideas of my own :)
All ways amazing Mark Sensei
The talking helps me to draw, it has to go on! :) Brody's Ghost is great, excited for the next one.
Thanks!!
Thank you Mark, and keep 'em coming please, with lots of talking. :D
i liked the "music-talking" part alot ! i really enjoyed it h_h ♥
Oh yeah, the face is buy far the hardest thing for me to ink. I'm always scared when I start on it! Glad to find out I'm not the only one!
Thanks Mark! Great work, Cant wait till next week!!!
Oh and buy the way, you are NEVER boring!
I think your videos ar perfect how they are, balanced between time lapse and real time. The people who say you talk too much just want to learn from seeing you draw and dont pay attention to what you say, I know some people like that but time lapse is also good like you said because it does get boring if the videos too long. Just my opinion, I think you shouldnt try too hard to please everyone, great video like always mark!
Iron giant is one of my favorite animations ... "supahmann" crys every time!
Mark Crilley, I was wondering if you might be able to make a narrated video on how to draw someone in profile and 3/4 wearing glasses. Also I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these videos. I find them extremely helpful and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I can't wait to see how your drawing looks after you add color. Thanks again : )
I messaged u asking u to go in depth into your process. (I'm sure many others have also) your a fine artist and wise bisness man.
Thank you mark for this video! I have drawn it and it turned out pretty well. I've also ordered ur mastering manga 1 and 2 . You have a new 12yr subscriber! Keep up the good work :-)
PVZGirl Thank you so much!
+markcrilley hey I just wanted to say thanks, because of you I'm finally able to draw a person. Ever since elementary school I could never get the face right and it has bugged me up to high school. But a few days ago I watched one of your videos, after that I went back and did a fairly good job on a picture
Mark, you are amazing! and oon one of your other videos when you said, There are better artists then me, Im just like: Mark, that's lies. all lies. You are awesome! Don't let yourself say your not, theres nobody better then you :D
I bought all five of Brody's Ghost books and I cant wait for number six cause the fifth ended on a very good cliffhanger. also love the video
Thanks so much for your support, Kevin!!
