Hello, and thank you for the reply. In the distant future we hope to have kits for other vehicles such as Jeep, Suzuki, Chevrolet, etc. For now we are concentrating on the Toyota truck line. Thank you again.
+Marco Chavanne Hello Marco. Thank you for the inquiry. Currently the best way to reach us is by phone at 519-938-9844. We're trying to work on a website but due to our location, we're stuck with dial up internet. ( I'm starting to think that the communications companies are playing som kind of practical joke with this area ). Or by e-mail at thetoydoc@hotmail.com. Thank you again Shane
Are you guys still in business? I just picked up an 86 4x4 automatic Toyota longed pickup I would like to swap diesel into. I found you thru youtube. Very impressive.
have you guys thought about making a kit for jeeps I'm very interested in doing this to my jeep cherokee. ether making your kit work or buying another kit
Hello Daniel, and thank you very much for the reply. We do hope to be building kits for Jeeps in the future. Right now we are concentrating on finishing all of the Toyota truck line up first. We have been a Toyota four-wheel-drive/off-road shop for nearly 30 years, so we know Toyota far better than any other make. Jeep would be the second manufacturer we want to work on, but it will probably be a while before we start, as we are not overly knowledgeable in all things Jeep.
Hello, and thank you for the response. It's currently April 6 2014, due to the extreme winter in our area and the melting snow we are dealing with. Many of the phone lines are down intermittently as is our internet. Our phone # is 519-938-9844 and the best e-mail to try is thetoydoc@hotmail.com. With luck the phone company will have the lines restored soon. Till then will try to get back to you as communications allow. Thank you for your patients S.C.lawrence TOY Works
Depending on which year and model Toyota, and which year and model VW engine, and weather you need us to do the wiring harness and\or supply the engine and what power modifications, it ranges from $2500-$8000+.
I have a 1989 toyota 22re with the 5 speed and I want to put a 1.9 tdi can I get a link to the kits. and what year motor would be best for this particular truck
Hello Justin, and thank you for the reply. To figure out which motor would be best for you, it would be best if we spoke with you in person. The best number to reach us at is; 519-938-9844, or contact us by email at; thetoydoc@hotmail.com and send us your phone number and we will contact you. There are four different Volkswagen 1.9 turbo diesel's that we use. Each one has its advantages and disadvantage is. It boils down to whether or not you like electronics, and how much power fuel economy you are hoping to make.
Hi my name is dominic I have a 1987 Toyota pickup 22-RTE turbo I want to do a 1.9 swap which would be the best engine for my transmission I don’t care about electric or mechanical fuel pump just ease of installation can you give me advice? Or links to buy your swap kit?
Hello darkangelglue500, Dominic. If you are looking for the absolute easiest of installations, then the all mechanical 1.9 Volkswagen turbo diesel AAZ engine will be the easiest. This engine however, in bone stock form is the least powerful of the engines, and nearly impossible to find in the USA. The next simplest and second cheapest version is the AHU/1Z Volkswagen 1.9 L turbo diesel engine. The AHU/1Z engine is also much cheaper to upgrade then the AAZ engine, so when you get to an engine that produces 150 hp/250 lb.ft. torque, your cost is pretty much the same. The best way to contact us is by telephone, as where our shop is there is only dial-up Internet. The best phone number to contact us at is 519-938-9844, or you can email us at thetoydoc@hotmail.com. If you wish, email us your phone number and the time at which you can be reached and we will give you a call. Thank you very much for the inquiry Dominic, and we hope to speak with you in the future
Good day Jim, and thank you very much for the inquiry. The best way to get hold of us is by telephone at 519-938-9844. We would need to know a little bit about your truck, and which of the four different Volkswagen 1.9 L diesel engines you wish to use before we could give you an accurate quote on a kit. If no one answers when you call please do leave a message including your phone number and a time at which you would like to be reached and we will call you back as soon as possible. Thank you very much, and I look forward to speaking with you in the future.
The one's we've done don't send any "black smoke" out of the exhaust. But if that's your goal, then you could tune the engine to do so. Our personal goal is the fuel efficiency combined with the required torque to make a workable truck with economy car mileage. Thank you for the question.
