Toyota TDI Swap Cooling System is COMPLETE!!! How to buy and route hoses

- Cooling system is complete. Here is how i routed all the lines.
All my lines came from Napa Auto Parts. Here are the part numbers:
Lower radiator hose: 1.25" 90 degree bend and 8761
Upper radiator hose: 8991 and 9159
Heater core inlet: 11743 and 10793
Heater core outlet: 10952

AutoZone sells WetterWater, it's like 12 ounces of Green Stuff. Was invented for Stock or any car drag racing the 1/4 mile. Can't use Antifreeze. Will lower temps 10 to 15 degrees over Antifreeze, and can use water from your hose. Excellent to add to Antifreeze, especially turbo. You can buy a Remote fitting with a radiator cap, housing to mount at the High point above the engine, best you can. Don't want hot spots!

In europe whe have a lot of vw chassis with longitudinal tdi engines. So its possible to use all cooling layout

Why not use both speeds for your radiator fans? Can buy a stand alone, digital fan control you set up your way. Look up Ron Francis, he makes and sells all electrical systems including fuse box for custom builds, since the 1970s . I use a Dodge Intrepid steel fan shroud, double fans for my mk3 Jetta. Wired for both fan speed. Fit perfectly. 2.0 ABA. Like how you think outside the German box.
Well the tdi runs so cool, most people don't even run a fan! I figure ill wire in the high speed and that should be more than enough!
I live in Phoenix, so need both speeds! Haven't got into diesel yet. Stuck in Gasland!
Why not incorporate some tubbing on your long straight rad hoses? Just use the bends you need in rubber? More clamps and more potential leak points, but stronger hoses.
Toyota 4cyl use a metal pipe on the lower hose, you may have been able to fabricate something for the lower hose. Might be better to do so instead of a long rubber hose. Just spit balling. Also a V6 3 core radiator offers good cooling for Yota’s and the V6 shroud is large, could mount a electric fan on the radiator instead.
This is the 3.0 V6 radiator!
What fuel lines did you use?
Do you have a VW part number for that elbow with bleeder port? Looks like it could come in handy for me. BHW fittings were all the o ring/wire clip style
Austin Arps on the upper rad hose? That’s the factory alh piece!
@@austinniemela I'll try to look up some ALH part numbers, I'm swapping a BHW into mine and don't have any similar fittings to take advantage of
fyi, those conti paper stickers don't hold up very well under the hood. i put mine on the glove box door. Are you going to add a brace to the oil dipstick tube? i've had one crack because it was not supported. i think the engine cover holds them in place. not sure on that as i don't have a vw engine cover
greg h never had a problem in my jetta without the cover. It should be fine
I used a couple bolted together p-clips and attached the tube to my oil filter housing on my ALH.
what did you use to connect your lower radiator hose to your 90 degree hose coming from the motor? I am having trouble sourcing a part that will work here. There are PVC options this size but coolant is too hot for those.
