I have a 1992 manual 4runner, want to change the gas to diesel. What is a good diesel engine that works with the model?

is there a conversion kit that can be bought to do this swap? how much is it if there is?

how hard of a swap was it installing?

Since diesel is more expensive, or burns quicker (I'm not an expert), do you spend the same that you would if it were gasoline?

So basically, you made your own mounts to the existing power steering, ac, and alternator bracket to where they were before with the 3.4. I am curious as to how you did the electrical/wiring harness, cause obviously you kept the stock on for the alternator and ac. I'm assuming you just tapped into the sensors with the old harness?

Nearly $5,000 in annual savings on fuel if my math is correct Probably pays for itself within 4 years even if you go with something a little crazier that requires a transmission swap as well

Are you still doing conversions? My partner is thinking about converting her 98 4Runner to diesel and we're trying to figure out what a reasonable price is. Also what a reasonable time frame is. One site said $35,000 and at that point you could just buy a new truck.

That ant 40 mpg man! It's more like 32mpg. I can get that with a gas kia sorento, actually 38 mpg with 3 passengers if I work at it and that's an average over 200 kilometers not 7 lol.

I was seconds away from buying a Cummins r2.8 and I stumbled on this. Im having difficulty find a website. Ive already sourced an r150f and 1.9L tdi. How can I source bellhousing/input adapters, bekt adapters and mounts? Thanks. I did find one website but, it was 30,000 for the kit. Yikes.

How much did this conversion cost you in total? I get 14mpg on a good day in my 99 4Runner and spend about $600/mo with gas being around $5.40/gal here. Curious to see how long it would take to pay for itself.
