    I'm glad you carefully placed the new part on the piece of plastic, and didn't scratch the paint on the fender! 😊

    Nice. 100amp, the generator is like 30 amps. I still use the generator in my 64 Galaxie. So far it works well.

      On my ‘64 Galaxie , I went with the same 100a. alternator in black . Because the car still has an old 352 engine, I had to use the C.R.A.P. Company bracket kit . In like butter ! Run a #8 or #6 awg. charging wire minimum. I removed all the old generator wires and voltage regulator and installed a stud block on driver’s side inner fender for horn hookup . You also could leave the regulator in and remove the generator field wire . This way you could leave your horn connections alone . I do get some belt squeal on cold startup , that 100 amper can act like a magnetic brake . Noise goes away after a moment . Need to configure a dual belt setup but, for now it works nice .
      I’m glad Omar touched on this subject . His videos are very well done and I like his instructing manner .

      If it ain’t broke don’t fix it is my go to now haha but if you ever plan on adding more stuff like electric fans the upgrade is very simple

    Did the same on mine. Got the alternator (140 Amp, am thinking about fitting extras in the future) from Summit, did not have a Garrett to send me brackets so these had to be fabricated🙂. Install and forget, there is no need for the 30 Amp generator lol.

    • @OmarRamirezGalaxie
      @OmarRamirezGalaxie  6 місяців тому

      lol what engine did you need the brackets for? The 140 amp is very cool, I have the same one on my 68 Torino with a complete sound system, subwoofer and all. It definitely handles it

      @@OmarRamirezGalaxie the bracket you got from your friend I suppose is for Windsor originally fitted with an alternator, but try to find such a thing cheap here in Europe... Was no big deal, went to the local iron mongers and found what I needed, then cut drill & weld. 140 Amp in my case on account of electrically assisted steering (future project) and maybe aircon...

      @@OmarRamirezGalaxie they were sold here (Austria) officially back in the day but mine is a later import (from Oregon via Germany) - there are very few original survivors on account of rust damage (they spread salt/grit on the roads during winter and we have strict yearly inspections) and the various fuel crisis, am trying to trace more but so far no luck...

    The other consideration is that a igntion power source would need be routed to the electric choke. I am currently powering mine from the stator terminal on the back of my altenator.

      Under dash wiring looks ok, probably insulation wire out and started to short out

    Omar,
    Great video! Can you just call that alternator company and tell them what generator car you have and then they select to correct alternator? Otherwise, how do you know what to purchase and what brackets you need?
    Thanks for showing us how to "clock" the alternator as I didn't know you could do that!
    The camera past it quickly so maybe I had a bad view. If not, it appears the rubber part of your fuel line is very close to the body/frame where is could chaff and you would have a "high" pressure leak under the hood. Maybe adjust the metal part to the rubber part is well clear of rubbing on anything.

    • @OmarRamirezGalaxie
      @OmarRamirezGalaxie  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes I’m sure they will help you out with the correct alternator and brackets if you call them. The fuel line needs to be redone, I just rigged it up with what I had around to get it going. But yes a proper fuel line is in order haha

  • @robertmccully2792

    The two wires left at regulator run battery power to the interior, and you deleted the horn power, and i think you deleted the fusible link in that wires pack., and on my 64 galaxie you eliminated the radio suppression. You did not talk about any of that?
