Every video you do where you talk and explain a lot, I figure out something about myself. For example, in this video when you talked about how thinking about something in advance to make it easier for you, it clicked in my mind that this is why I talk a lot about future plans and change them in my mind. Talking about what I want to do helps get used to changes, which are actually scary to me. I often supress it, get myself hyped up about it to build up the momentum. Maybe it's just me, but I think many people are not only inspired by your journey, but really enjoy your thoughts, your calm voice and wisdom. I'm struggling right now with moving, and just being in the moment, listening to you is so calming. If you ever run out of things to declutter, I think I wouldn't mind to see you for example scrapbook and explain what you are doing or talk about books and what you take away from them. You are a kind and genuine person that I think many people like listening to.
Not many people would allow the whole internet to watch their messes. You're really brave, not just because you showed us your behavior, also because you're facing the problem and trying to fix it. Be proud! You're amazing Mira. ❤
To organize DVDS, I put them into categories. Then grouped them by artist and alphabetical. At this point I put them into clear organizers. This way you can put one row in the back and another row in front. Pull out on complete box to get to the row behind. You can use shoe boxes
Says I don't have advice about that, then gives the absolute best advice for that 😂 you are not a fraud, you're uncovering your authentic self everyday and taking us along for the glorious ride❤ those piles won't know what hit them, their days are numbered!
Hi Mira Thank You ! You really are a gift & unique blessing…. Life fell off the rails for me starting with moving to a new town in 2019 (To begin again after severe tragedies) Well the move coincided with COVID shut down, then LNU fire, - extreme isolation etc etc and result of such upheaval & chaos I became overwhelmed and though once an organized, clutter free lifestyle is now gone and now I exist day to day among piles upon piles - frozen in place and without trustworthy resources to assist in going through clutter You show me that it’s possible for one to do it themselves Something I thought wasn’t a conceivable reality You are truth that one can do it themselves- alone All your wisdom and calm demeanor (love your voice)along with matter of fact aka honesty and reveal of vulnerable moments …has and is the answer…. I believe in prayer - God led me to find your channel Thank You deeply so Mira You are loved and give much to many
Mira so sorry to hear about your sweet puppy Cupid. I know too well the pain and loss you are feeling. You gave that baby a loving home and that is a miracle. ❤️
About the voice narration; YES absolutely agreed! I am usually not an audio book reader, but I would LOVE listening to your voice narrating my books!! ♥♥♥♥ You're amazing Mira! Xx
Mira, You are not a fraud. It takes a lot of courage to share your struggles with us online. You have really done an amazing job so far! Give yourself some grace. Take it one day at a time. Decluttering my clothes took me several passes. So I would go through my clothes periodically and get rid of a little at a time. I think I’m down to what I actually wear now.
I noticed a lot of unopened mail which reminded me of a time when I wouldn't open mine. I was in quite a bit of debt then, and it just suddenly occurred to me that I needed to face my problems and stop avoiding them. I'm in a much better place now, and a lesson learned. Facing one's problems is the only way to go. I admire your determination to succeed, and you will. You have a lovely home and it will be wonderful to see it decluttered and shine again.
I had a very similar experience. Every envelop may as well have had a picture of a hand held out for money I didn't have. For me, it was just the utilities, but when you don't have it, you don't have it. I'm in a much better place now, too, but I'll never forget how much that pile of paper stressed me out. I still struggle with paper clutter, but that's mostly because I hate filing. And my health insurance bombards me with mail, despite the fact that I've opted for paperless everything. 🙄 I really hate paper!
I hope you are well. I have been binge watching your videos from the beginning and I really love them because they are so full of inspiration and loving positive energy. The parts where you show the lows are a great counterpart to the successes you are having decluttering. You are very motivational. Thank you
Thank you Mira for being open and courageous in documenting your grief and declutter journey. I have listened to four friends in the last two years and it has been immobilizing.
Mira, I just watched the video you did with A Beautiful Mess and learned about your little Cupid. We always know that we'll probably outlive our beloved pets, but that doesn't make it any easier to lose them. I've lost pets that I loved with all my heart and I find that it really helps to get a new pet as soon as possible. It gives you a wonderful place to put all that love! You have moved mountains in your life. Keep it up.
I remembered seeing all of the deodorant in the first few videos and giggled because I know I have bought things that I have lost in piles or boxes. It's awesome when I discover that I have already bought what I thought I needed. I loved hearing the story behind your fur babies. Also, thank you for showing the different variations on the Tarot decks. I never realized the cards could give you different thoughts from the same card from deck to deck. I absolutely love the 4 of cups with the cat. That is so much a kitty attitude lol
wow thanks mira! i've been watching your journey after a video was recommended last month. love hearing you've seen my channel too. amazing work you are doing and sharing❤❤❤
You are doing great! Suggestion: If you put the DVDs and CDs in shoe box type bins with handles (front to back), you can pull the bins out of the cabinet like drawers and reach the discs you need more easily.
I can't wait for you to do your master bedroom. You deserve a beautiful sanctuary to rest and wake up to!!!!! You will rest and wake so much more peaceful!!!!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It really motivates me to do the same. I am 67 yrs old with multiple health conditions which limit me to where its painful to move at times. But I see how much you have accomplished and encourages me to think I can do it TOO! In addition, you have a sweetness, and a sincerity, and very insightful comments which make it pleasant to watch.
I’m 68 with a number of health issues too. But watching Mira has given me the courage to start my decluttering too. Now being brave enough to post it on the internet, no way. But I do plan to declutter my whole house. I’m starting with my bedroom/craft room first. Started it today, and I’ve completed 4 loads of laundry in between sorting
I just found your channel in my feed. I am a minimalist. I really am enjoyi g your channel already. There are many of the feelings I fight with to stay minimal. I think people are more alike than people realize! Great job!
Things I’ve learned from organizers, friends and family: - memorabilia/decor: 1 is more special than 2, 3 are more special than 10 - storage: open, labeled, translucent or clear bins that are just big enough. I don’t have to remove a lid or try to figure out what the ‘theme’ is for that container and I can easily see how much of something I have. - books: I used to see them as a kind of scrapbook of where I’d been and who I was, but I can’t store every book I’ve read. So now I keep the books I really like and want to read again, or really want to read. - getting rid of things makes room for whatever the future holds - helpful mindset: clear spaces under beds and around things allows chi (or just simply fresh air) to flow through your home - gifts: nobody wants you to be reminded of them every time you see a gift you never liked. I don’t need to save every thing someone gave me, just the things I love. I would rather someone toss what I gave them than have them feel guilty or conflicted or resentful when they see it. Memories are the best gifts. - you can stop junk mail (more or less) by going to: consumer.ftc.gov/articles/how-stop-junk-mail - lazy Susan’s are great in the fridge for condiments - helps me to remember what I have - I was 64 before I realized that I have to put things away when I’m done with them. Thank you so much for doing this! It’s inspiring and always nice to be reminded that I’m not alone. I had professional organizers help me on and off over the past year and I’m most of the way done, you are fantabulous to be getting so much done on your own 😊
Mira, I think you’re doing amazing. You said you hoped you’d be able to go through the clothing quickly. I would think it will be easy to declutter clothes being as they’ve been buried for sometime now, which lets you know you don’t need the level of clothes you have. I wish you the best in your journey
I've seen a handful of your videos now, and I have to say, you are so wholesome! Your laugh is so contagious and pure, I love it. I'm glad you started this channel, and that it's inspiring you, others, and myself to do some decluttering. I think it's rare to find someone who is honest to their audience on this platform, and your honesty and openness are what drew me to this channel. It's as if I'm sitting in the room with you as you discuss your way through the clutter, and it's so pleasant. Keep it up, you're inspiring so many with your hard work!
You summed up so many great lessons and insights! I love that you started in the room where you spend the most time. Also, practical reasons like "It is getting hard to get into my front door" can be decisive 😂 The lesson with the pins is so valuable! Yes, it's exactly what one needs to do. There is definitely something like "too much of a good thing". You will find so many joyful things to do when you are done, don't worry about that. I could not imagine what I would be doing with my time when I am done with decluttering, but here I am now and I wish I had at least five more hours in a day, because they are PACKED 😂 I can already see changes in you, you obviously have lost weight since the forst video and your movements are more agile. You have so many interests und you will finally have time and energy to dive deep into all those interests and hobbys! "I have become kind of greedy about the space and I want to keep more space open." This is so powerful and I know exactly how you feel! Just think about what this means, you value the open space more than the clutter. You don't need the piles to feel secure. This is HUGE! "I would do this decluttering all over again just for the dogs." This melted my heart 🥰 You mentioned that you are realizing that you will need to get rid of much more. Yeah, probably. I don't know about your kitchen, but at least in the living room there was a lot of trash. Trash is easy, decisions are hard. So perhaps you will slow down a bit. But you are training your decluttering muscle and you will make significant progress! What will probably help you is having the decluttered living room. You can pull three boxes out of the laundry room and sort them in the living room. That way it won't be so overwhelming. Something that is a great habit to implement at the state where you are right now is decluttering on the go. This doens't make for great videos, but implementing the habit of taking out the trash regularly, throwing trash into the trash can immediately and sticking items you come across into the donate box goes a long way. When you crash on your couch after a long day of work you can watch a DVD and donate it afterwards if you find the film not to be enteratining enough to watch a second time. Every action matters, no matter how small.
Decluttering is definitely habit-forming! Good thing it never ends. I know that's weird to say...I don't want to backslide, so even small declutters keep the habit intact. You are transforming your space, and it's incredibly satisfying.
Showing the other rooms made me more amazed that you are doing this by yourself. I feel like people who have their hoard removed by others are less likely to change their ways. I do have to say that your bedroom made me sad. You deserve so much better than this Mira and I am rooting for you. I have a lot of stuff but am a Virgo and have always been organized. I am excited to see the part when you have decluttered and start to develop systems and change your ways. If you haven't already you should watch Erica Lucas's journey.
We all have up and down times. Don’t let it stop your progress! I spend some time everyday straightening up. At this point I only have to declutter when needed. One thing you can implement now is to deal with mail daily. Most mail today can go straight to the recycle bin.
Mira, even within a couple of videos, you're standing so much better!! Seriously, do a side by side with your earlier videos and look at your posture! It's incredible!
When you finish the declutter you can decorate with your art 💐 jody dunn is a great channel, she’s not a hoarder per se but she took an year to declutter her house, she is very true and relatable and fun. She is very realistic and doesn’t do things pinterest like but real life
IKEA blue bags are great for donations. I put clothes in bags and then put those in the blue bags. When it is full I take it to the car and then give the donation folks the contents and keep the bag for next time. Best wishes. You are doing a great job!
I love that you can laugh at yourself during this process. Suggestion for mail…deal with it daily. I throw junk mail away immediately and I 45:28 have a file cabinet that I file important things away immediately (like warranties, insurance, tax papers, bank statements etc) I also have a dedicated mail space for anything I may need to take a second look at and I make myself go thru it every Sunday. You are doing a great job!!
When you have decluttered your house you can start posting scrapbooking videos or tarot videos or book reviews 😊 Also, the fact there are still water bottles around makes me smile
I watch Carla Project too, I have watched her almost since her beginning. She has the same realness as you. 🥰 I also like to watch Midwest Magic Cleaning. It was actually through him I found you, because he works with Bonnie/A Beautiful Mess too.
I as so glad you areoneof my new clutter buddies!! I have found that when I do a massive declutter it does come back to a degree, but it is like an onion. and when it does come back, the next round goes out much easier than the hard first pass! I am so proud of your progress!!!!
You are amazing! It takes so much courage to put yourself on UA-cam for the world to see. I can’t wait to see you peel away the scrapbook room! I’m an avid scrapbooker (since 1997) and have purged so much, so many times. It’s hard. Keep up the amazing work and never forget how awesome you are!
Seeing you steadily conquering that massive box of papers is amazing! Paper is the hardest for me, both from admin anxiety and sentimental reasons. I really want to set aside some time to tackle it, so I can stop worrying in the back of my head! Love seeing more of the behind-the-scenes sorting through after organizing an area, and I'm sooo excited for the kitchen!
Love the Carla Project, she is such a vibe. I am an OG Hoarder's Heart follower; her progress is amazing. Erica Lucas is one I would recommend, esp if you start from the beginning has also had an incredible journey and how she lives now is nothing like where she started from. She has also had some great tricks and strategies she uses.
Thank you for sharing your decluttering journey. It is so brave to be so transparent and I know you are helping so many people. You and your furry companions will see so much improvement in your health as you continue your journey. You are kicking clutter’s butt!
Hi Mira, I am just discovering your videos after hearing about you from another You Tuber. I am also trying to declutter. It isn't easy and I too get overwhelmed at times. I've been making regular trips to the transfer station and local thrift shops. I find your videos an inspiration!
I just watched A Beautiful Mess's video and I am so sorry to hear about Cupid. Sending you peace and love. We're our pets' guardians, they're a part of our family. It is so devastating when one of them passes.
You're so SMART, KIND HEARTED, WONDERFULLY MADE!! IM PROUD OF YOU!!! Can't wait for the kitchen video!!! We ❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️you! I decluttered 30 items in my bathroom dressing area the other day. Old meds, perfumes, junk. 26 trash, 4 Goodwill. I went through old Bday cards last week and got a Walmart bag FULL of stuff. Felt good! Take 1 step at the time, 1 piece of trash at the time. If I lived near you, I would LOVE to help you for weeks. Praying for you to have STRENGTH piece by piece. 32:07
Sending you a big hug for all that you’ve accomplished! You are really pushing through the uncomfortable feelings and getting the work done and that is amazing! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Proud of you, Mira!
I could hear your anxiety ratchet up when you went into the laundry room. But in a way, that seemed like progress too. Your anxiety triggers are getting smaller the more work you put into this. My hope for you is that by the time you're finished with this first pass at the house, the anxiety will eventually be small enough it can fit in a few boxes!
Mira I just watched your kitchen video on Bonnie’s channel. I’m so sorry to hear about Cupid’s passing. He was such a lucky fellow having found you. Please know you and Clay are in my thoughts and prayers!
Yes!! I love that…if you come across something that you can’t make a decision on right then, just set it aside for later. The important thing is you’re making progress!! 🥰👍🏻 You’re doing a great job and are definitely a motivation!! 👏🏻❤️ Also a note on the laundry room….when you’re feeling like doing something, just pull out and deal with one box at a time and process just that one box….☺️
It’s so encouraging to see that parts of your living room are staying maintained and the other places seems to have more organized layers. You’re doing well!
Your doing a great job. I was sad to here of your loss. I feel your pain. It's been recent for me as well. It does get better but I'm not all the way there It's too new. RIP Cupid. My sister tells me all dogs go to heaven, it's comforting to think that. 😇
I am Like at the Weekend by daylight nothing and at 22 PM i get going and declutter and tidy Up till 2am ...i am a night owl. I am getting my stuff done when all are asleep😅 thank i have my silence
@@Jenniferhneway0 When younger, I was a night owl as well. You are so right that the quiet helps and I get more done, in my case anyway. Now I'm an old lady I am out by 11 most nights but wake up at 3, just when you are kicking it in gear 😊. Got lucky and Mira uploaded.
I did my poodles dog toys along with her and it was such a help. Although one of the dogs kept on going into the donate bag and pulling them out just like I do if I leave a donate clothing bag around the house too long. 😅
Me and my boys have been reading more since we donated all our books and take trips to the library. I feel less overwhelmed like i can relax to finally read.
That was quite a lot of paper clutter that you made it through! It may not have the visual impact that other decluttering activities do, but i find that to be a big mental relief. I like the way you move between larger decluttering and smaller "finishing" activities. The smaller activities are needed to truly finish the big ones.
There is a process for keeping up with clutter. Getting rid of clutter is exciting. Keeping up is less so. So accept that maintenance challenge when it comes. There will be less emotions pulling at you because that prioritizing and organizing muscle will be strong. Go you. You are an inspiration
You are doing this like it's your job. I've been at this for almost a year, and I am still a work in progress. You are going to find that you will be more thoughtful about what you bring into your home for sure. Plus, 😊 you will be able to keep your inventory under control . Love ya, Mira! Keep on clearing out that beautiful house of yours!
I love the Hoarder’s Heart. Have learned so much from her. Especially that I have hoarding tendencies. Love Carla project as well. Especially her new series with her sister. Another one is Tracy Akamini. I appreciate how much of your process you are sharing. I agree with others about your voice. It’s very pleasant to listen to. You are doing a fine job with your decluttering. Thank you for all your videos.
I'm so proud of you!! This is some AMAZING progress you have made!! I have lots of collections, too. I collect books, angels, Ty beanie babies, art supplies, coloring books, scrapbooking supplies, comic books, CD's, DvD's but I have gotten rid of quite a few, I have too much stuff I think!! I love it all though. I try to now think about what I actually need. I've dwindled down my books to favorite authors and have gotten rid of an entire collection of a couple authors. I love to donate to the library's book store. When I pass away I want my stuffed animals to go to St Jude's Children hospital or one of the other children's hospitals maybe. I donate shoes before they get worn out. I have all my art supplies all in one main shelving unit on one wall in my living room. I have limited it all to just this one small wall space so that I don't get overwhelmed and it also does not get spread out and become overwhelming. I struggle with anxiety so it was doing a number on me before I got it straightened out. It still needs a bit more organization but its corralled to one space at least LOL!! 😂The scrapbooking is from my Hubby's mom and its still in boxes!! Yea gods I need help with that mess yet!! 😳 Boxes have now filled the bedroom space and we sleep in living room now basically becuz I sleep in my recliner becuz of my back and legs being in so much pain. I couldn't sleep laying down flat anymore. So he sleeps on couch to be near me. That's love right there! Been married 22 years.💜 Things have taken their toll on us tho with my Fibromyalgia being so bad. And he sucks at cleaning which really stresses me out every day. I had cleaning routine every day. Smh he can't function trying to clean. But he's gotten better. I'm trying to just be patient and content with all of the mess. Its hard. I wish I could get up whenever I wanted...I know of a million things I would love to clean and do right now. I have ADD and OCD and lots of this mess is very stressful for me. Then add my depression, anxiety, PTSD, PPD, and whatever else alphabet soup they throw at me - I'm still just me trying to just live and breathe everyday thru the chaos. Can't even imagine what it would be like having kids thru all of this!!😳 I think this is the longest thing I have ever typed on UA-cam. And I wish I had a pin collection like yours becuz I love Office Space and I love pins. I used to have this page on FB where you could make pins and get them printed and it went away. I had some I had made that were special and never got them printed so they are gone. I don't know that I should start a new collection but that is one I would do. I love the pins on the boards on that wall in your hallway. I would fill the entire wall. I don't know how you managed to even part with any of them!! LOL!!😳😂 okay well enuf yapping I guess sorry. Wish I could come help you but in happy Bonnie will be with you. I'm so sorry that Cupid passed away 😢 Sending you love & hugs🙏💙
You are doing wonderful Mira. Going through things is "tough" & letting things go is "tougher ". You are going slow & steady, which will ultimately complete the task. So proud of your accomplishments! Have a Great Day!
You are doing a great job! I started “marking” cords with tape or paper and it has really helped! The grand kids have a ton of electronics and it is so nice to find the right charger because it is labeled
You do inspire us! I gave away 4 trousers and 2 skirts that don't suit me and never did. 😅 and that's just the beginning. Thank you so much for being brave enough to show us your mess and how you tackle it. I'm so impressed!
Thank you Mira for answering the questions . The journey ahead will be exciting you have us here cheering you on. It may seem like a lot but with your determination it will go quickly and smoothly
Just watched your kitchen transformation with beautiful mess , well done it looked amazing, so sorry about your little cupid, hope you’re doing well 🙏❤️🙏
Hello Mira I am now a new subscriber I first met you on the channel a beautiful mess . I know what depression is all about to me mine is like being suffocated & I can't come out for air ! I am so happy for you to get a new beginning,it wil always be work, but you are getting there. Thanks for lifting me up Have a lovely day !
I've been told that after you do your initial declutter, you have more free time on your hands. Also that there are times where you do an area that you previously decluttered again. It seems like it's a matter of learning of what you do need vs what you don't. With that said I decluttered some socks that go higher on my ankles. Then I wore my warm boots and realized I needed them. Today I spent less than $4 to replace those socks lol!
Mira, I watch and subscribe to Bonnie's A Beautiful Mess... Today, I watched her latest video and was introduced to your channel! I just finished binge watching your videos! You are so motivating, and I have related to so much of what you have shared (feelings, too!). As a new subscriber, I look forward to being motivated in my own journey of breaking some bonds with my own stuff. You rock, my friend! 😎
Oh Mira, im here with you. Two of my bedrooms have crap piles too, we have made walkways and got things iff the floor. You do get alot done in your videos, and inspire me to do abit too. Small sections is the way to go. Its ok to set things aside to go thru them later.
I subscribed today and this is I think the 3rd video. You are binge worthy!!! I have been watching you sort this paper for 22 minutes and you have sucked me in to an internal dialogue. I know you can’t hear me but I am asking you questions and your opinion on things while I enjoy a virtual Starbucks. I love your direct answers…. Let’s watch!
Dear Mira, you are a rarity, I watch many videos of others with overflowing homes/hoarding situations and have come away knowing that basically no one can do this on their own. They rarely see that they even have a problem. They wouldn't even know where to start; could never throw or give away anything; or simply know how to organize or clean. Brava, dear one, for putting yourself out there for the world to see, but, more importantly, realizing and changing your situation. I eagerly await your future videos, your progress and your results.
So much of the mail these days is just a waste of paper! Wish there was a law prohibiting junk mail. You did really well sorting paperwork, l think your getting better at making decisions faster, and letting go of things. I've also noticed you seem to be losing weight, and you're moving around a bit easier...have you noticed that yourself? Your home tour was interesting. I noticed a lot of matching boxes, your organized in some ways, but you need more shelves or cabinets to put things on, and yes, maybe less stuff. You'll get through it, I believe in you! 😊❤😊 I think having Bonnie help you with your kitchen will be a wonderful thing. When will she be there? She could help in your bedroom also. Wouldn't it be great to know what clothes you actually have, and have a organized kitchen to cook in? Mira your doing great! Keep your journey growing! 😊😊
Great Q&A Mira! I don’t usually have the patience to sit through them but you kept me riveted as always 🥰 oh and you have THE BEST collection of T-shirts (something I’ve been meaning to say for a quite a while now 😂) Hugs from Australia xxx
I noticed you a few times mentioning in this video how you're not sure how you will feel or what you will do once all the decluttering is done. I haven't answer for you! You're going to read! You're going to scrapbook! You're going to watch DVDs! You're going to curate your collections! You're going to enjoy your tarot cards, etc. You're going to appreciate how much easier it is to get around your place to do all these things! And one thought about struggling to make decisions about what to keep and let go. I'm not sure how old you are, but the average white woman in the United States lives to about the age 82 from what I've heard. So how many decades do you have left? How do you want to spend the rest of your time? If you don't have time enough to get to everything, what do you want to make sure you have time to get to? These are questions that I'm asking myself as a 52-year-old.
Hi Mira, I'm going through de cluttering right now too, I realized that I have been holding on to many things because I didn't want to let go of the trauma I experienced in the past. It's like going back and re-reading some letters, some old documents, my divorce documents, journal entries about how hurtful and painful it was for my daughter and I, for some reason I had a hard time letting go of the anger. I've accepted now that I'm not going to get even an apology for how my ex husband abandoned her and abused/neglected both of us. I finally shredded the divorce papers and accompanying documents, and much more. The biggest thing I did though was to stop buying anything unless I'm replacing something out or broken.
Wow, thank you!
You have said much of what I was going to say 💐😊 enjoy your weekend from England 🏴
Oh yes… I can see tons of videos I would enjoy if Mira did that!!
Not many people would allow the whole internet to watch their messes. You're really brave, not just because you showed us your behavior, also because you're facing the problem and trying to fix it. Be proud! You're amazing Mira. ❤
100% agreed here. Amazing selflove work ❤
Agree!! You should be so proud of yourself! Keep up the decluttering process!!!
To organize DVDS, I put them into categories. Then grouped them by artist and alphabetical. At this point I put them into clear organizers. This way you can put one row in the back and another row in front. Pull out on complete box to get to the row behind. You can use shoe boxes
I admire you and love your sense of humour. I’m with you on clearing small spaces. Keeping the momentum going is key.
Says I don't have advice about that, then gives the absolute best advice for that 😂 you are not a fraud, you're uncovering your authentic self everyday and taking us along for the glorious ride❤ those piles won't know what hit them, their days are numbered!
Wow, thank you! I'm glad I could help.
Your attitude is amazing. You don’t whine you just get with the next step. Thank you!
Hi Mira
Thank You ! You really are a gift & unique blessing….
Life fell off the rails for me starting with moving to a new town in 2019
(To begin again after severe tragedies)
Well the move coincided with COVID shut down, then LNU fire, - extreme isolation etc etc and result of such upheaval & chaos I became overwhelmed and though once an organized, clutter free lifestyle is now gone and now I exist day to day among piles upon piles - frozen in place and without trustworthy resources to assist in going through clutter
You show me that it’s possible for one to do it themselves
Something I thought wasn’t a conceivable reality
You are truth that one can do it themselves- alone
All your wisdom and calm demeanor (love your voice)along with matter of fact aka honesty and reveal of vulnerable moments …has and is the answer…. I believe in prayer - God led me to find your channel
Thank You deeply so Mira
You are loved and give much to many
For the IKEA bags, fill them up with donate stuff and get rid of them. ❤
Xx
Dear Mira you are inspiring and I’ve been watching your determination is amazing Bless Cupid and enjoy your beautiful home with Clay ❤
Mira,
You are not a fraud.
I enjoy Carla too! I'm so proud of you and her, and her sister Sherry. 😊
wow thanks mira! i've been watching your journey after a video was recommended last month. love hearing you've seen my channel too. amazing work you are doing and sharing❤❤❤
You are not a fraud! You're actually being authentic, because progress is never linear.
I just watched the cleaning of your kitchen. I am so sorry for your loss. Hang in there, girl.
Just watched Bonnies video and learned of Cupid's passing. I am so very sorry for your loss. Prayers for peace and sending hugs your way. ❤
Oh my goodness, this comment touches me so much. Thank you. You can do it! I'm cheering you on.
Great job!
Things I’ve learned from organizers, friends and family:
- memorabilia/decor: 1 is more special than 2, 3 are more special than 10
- storage: open, labeled, translucent or clear bins that are just big enough.
- getting rid of things makes room for whatever the future holds
- helpful mindset: clear spaces under beds and around things allows chi (or just simply fresh air) to flow through your home
- gifts: nobody wants you to be reminded of them every time you see a gift you never liked. I don’t need to save every thing someone gave me, just the things I love. I would rather someone toss what I gave them than have them feel guilty or conflicted or resentful when they see it. Memories are the best gifts.
- you can stop junk mail (more or less) by going to: consumer.ftc.gov/articles/how-stop-junk-mail
- lazy Susan’s are great in the fridge for condiments - helps me to remember what I have
- I was 64 before I realized that I have to put things away when I’m done with them.
Thank you so much for doing this! It’s inspiring and always nice to be reminded that I’m not alone. I had professional organizers help me on and off over the past year and I’m most of the way done, you are fantabulous to be getting so much done on your own 😊
I’m love that you watch Carla! Her energy is so good and I feel like her advice is so practical :)
Aw, thank you!
You summed up so many great lessons and insights!
I love that you started in the room where you spend the most time. Also, practical reasons like "It is getting hard to get into my front door" can be decisive 😂
The lesson with the pins is so valuable! Yes, it's exactly what one needs to do. There is definitely something like "too much of a good thing".
You will find so many joyful things to do when you are done, don't worry about that. I could not imagine what I would be doing with my time when I am done with decluttering, but here I am now and I wish I had at least five more hours in a day, because they are PACKED 😂
I can already see changes in you, you obviously have lost weight since the forst video and your movements are more agile.
"I would do this decluttering all over again just for the dogs." This melted my heart 🥰
You mentioned that you are realizing that you will need to get rid of much more.
Wow, thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed comment.
@@PeelingAwaytheClutter You are welcome! :) Thank you for taking the time to read it.
Believe me tidying and cleaning daily will keep you busy especially with a pet, lol!
Oh, I will check that out! Thanks for mentioning it!
The Freudian slip of “cluttering” vs “decluttering”made me lol - you’re doing so well, this neat freak minimalist is proud of you! ❤
Me too, LOL. I thought I clutter frequently, unfortunately. Ha ha.
Great idea. Thanks!
You are doing really well, good for you on tackling the papers. I also like The Carla Project, I’d say she is one of my favorite declutterers.
When you have decluttered your house you can start posting scrapbooking videos or tarot videos or book reviews 😊
Also, the fact there are still water bottles around makes me smile
I watch Carla Project too, I have watched her almost since her beginning. She has the same realness as you. 🥰
I also like to watch Midwest Magic Cleaning.
As others , I think that you have a beautiful voice. ( I love tarot cards too.) I salute your perseverance! 🌹🌹🌹
Mira, you are my favourite youtuber at the moment. I love following your progress while doing my own decluttering. Former book hoarder here 🙋🏼♀️
Aw, that means so much to me! We can work on our books together.
I love your laughter ❤ Best regards Susan, Denmark 🇩🇰
Thank you for sharing your decluttering journey. It is so brave to be so transparent and I know you are helping so many people. You and your furry companions will see so much improvement in your health as you continue your journey. You are kicking clutter’s butt!
So so sorry for your loss of Cupid ❤
I'm so sorry for your loss!! I just watched "A Beautiful Mess" and you clean your kitchen and heard the news. 😭
Also a note on the laundry room….when you’re feeling like doing something, just pull out and deal with one box at a time and process just that one box….☺️
The blue Ikea bags are amazing to put broken down boxes in to take for recycling. Today I used the bag to put groceries in to bring into the house.
So I'm not the only one up at 3 in the morning ? Well I'm up and watching. You're doing great Mira.
4:00 a.m.
I've been eagerly waiting for this slow video download.
Me too...i was waiting since the Last one ❤IT helps so much to get Things done .ITS Like decluttering and cleaning together
I did my poodles dog toys along with her and it was such a help. Although one of the dogs kept on going into the donate bag and pulling them out just like I do if I leave a donate clothing bag around the house too long. 😅
Cha-ching! I love it that you found money! I also really like the Carla Project.
You are very eloquent ,! I loved when you said “sometimes I feel like I’m riding on that snowball, yee ha ! And sometimes I’m being run over by it “
love to watch your videos as a background to my cleaning, decluttering. also listening to you talk about the progress is soothing and inspiring
Just found your channel and I have been binge watching your journey and all I can say is WOW ! you are an inspiration ❤❤❤
I can hear the video just fine 🤷🏽♀️ Mira, great job! Papers and cables are so tedious to go through 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you!
Thank you so much!
You are great keep laughing wish you all the best keep going 👍
MAJOR Sherlock-fan here as well! 😃🙋🏼♀️
Your scrapbook room is going to be an absolute dream, and your library! I’m so excited for you, and I’m excited for me to be able to watch it all! 😂
Oh Mira, im here with you. Two of my bedrooms have crap piles too, we have made walkways and got things iff the floor.
You do get alot done in your videos, and inspire me to do abit too. Small sections is the way to go.
Its ok to set things aside to go thru them later.
You can do it! Thanks so much for watching.
Don’t give that negative talk space in your head. You are not a fraud. You are moving forward. Not every day is going to be a win.
Wow, I appreciate this comment so much!
Thoroughly enjoying your journey. Because I love your spirit and your determination. You're a lovely person
I lover the names you give all the projects!
Amazing job! 🙌
Hi Mira. I’m in WVC and I hope you are doing well. I’m so sorry to hear about Cupid. Lots of love to you.
I came home dead on my feet - I was so happy to have your video to watch. Your laugh makes me smile and I appreciate your vulnerability.
I think having Bonnie help you with your kitchen will be a wonderful thing. When will she be there? She could help in your bedroom also. Wouldn't it be great to know what clothes you actually have, and have a organized kitchen to cook in? Mira your doing great! Keep your journey growing! 😊😊
You are my hereo! Loved it to see Bonnie there helping you, I bet you two had a great time!
I wish I was just as Courages
as you!
I really like your voice it is calm and sweet and doesn't feel like someone is demanding :)
Piles make me uncussious anxiety
Great Q&A Mira! I don’t usually have the patience to sit through them but you kept me riveted as always 🥰 oh and you have THE BEST collection of T-shirts (something I’ve been meaning to say for a quite a while now 😂) Hugs from Australia xxx
Thanks so much!
I love your voice!! It’s so comforting and your laugh is just heartwarming and makes me smile every time I hear it!
Mira, I commend you for doing this. I’m sure it could be an emotional roller coaster. I admire you so much. You go girl❤
I love that you shredded that stuff. I know I have a lot of decisions and emotions ahead. Thanks for sharing.
