I agree. I find it much easier to get rid of stuff if I know it's going somewhere. I do keep things that are too good to throw but nobody else is really going to want them, like pretty boxes from packaging and gifts, I have some photo frames that you can't sell and can't give them away on FB or anything
@@cat-mum-Jules I'm a painter and illustrator and I am always looking for frames, of any size. They are good for storing my drawings, for exhibitions, to be able to give drawings as gifts or participate in contests. If you know a painter or a drawing academy, they might want them.
Your voice sounds so much lighter and cheerful. ❤ It’s obvious Colt has brought you much joy! Maybe looking for women and children’s shelters to donate to would help you let go more easily.

I have been donating for seven years to a thrift store that raises money for a food pantry. I'm a retired hospital dietitian so I am glad to support them. When I declutter I don't say should I get rid of something, instead I chant Feed the hungry, Feed the hungry. Then I can put it in the bag to go.

I’ve never heard of Thread Up. Have you actually made some money through them? I’m just curious if it’s worth the time and effort.
You did really good with this declutter and let go of lots of clothing that you will probably never miss. The best part is that you’re making plans and doing your best to stick to them.

Your drive-thru drop offs at goodwill are an amazing idea.
We don’t have that here in Australia.
My knees are bad at the moment so can only do about 15 minutes of garden work and housework at a time but it does make a difference.
Keep pegging away Mira - even a 15 minute session is better than nothing.
I’m amazed at how much I get done when looking back at the week.

A poodle living outside?!? Wow, thank you for giving Colt a forever home. He’s beautiful. I grew up with poodles (my sister had a momma, Missy, and she had two litters). Missy was black, too.

Yes, poor Colt lived outside in someone's back yard/garden. He was very matted when surrendered. They shaved him down while he was under anesthesia for his neuter. The first day he was here, he ran around outside for a few hours. He'd come inside, notice me looking at him, and dart outside again. I finally coaxed him in with a yellow blanket fresh from the dryer. He decided it's not so bad being an indoor dog.
Dont forget to take that mask off!!! We know what a lovely lady you are. Theres no need to hide away anymore. Sending you lots of love from england.Xxx

You seemed so certain and quick in your decluttering decisions. Great advice: planning, thinking, dreading, and worrying about decluttering an area takes up soooooo much more time than actually decluttering the area. I feel like Colt will be a catalyst for your decluttering venture lol. If he's constantly getting into things I think it will give you momentum to continue decluttering your space. Dogs like to remind you about things you left on the floor. I re-homed a Mini Dachshund and he once climbed in the bottom of my bookshelf and made me reassess how I was storing things!
I am so happy you are sharing your BIG heart with a new and very bouncy pup. I lost my girl in November and I know I need to move forward so many pups need homes .
To be honest, I didn't feel quite ready, but decided to check out the humane society and fell in love with his sweet face. I went right when they opened the next day because small dogs go very quickly. No regrets. But it's okay to go at your own pace. You'll find the right one.
Mira, we rescued all of our dogs. 😀They are the best. One of our dogs swallowed a bottle cap within the 1st week that we had him and had to go to the hospital. Colt needs to get off the bottle. 😆
I was sending a message to my husband about Colt and I almost typed, “My friend Mira just got a new dog!!” 😹 Colt is absolutely precious, congrats to your family!!! ❤

Colt and Clay are adorable. I enjoy learning about the different ways to view clothes. Yours appear to exist to provide sentimental memories. Mine exist to protect my skin and flatter my appearance. My clothes never remind me of an incident or a person. Do you ever approach yours from the aspect of how well they protect or flatter you? How do other commenters think about their clothes? I am in autism spectrum so my view may be too devoid of emotion.
I don't think about protection much, but I do consider whether clothes flatter me. Comfort is probably the biggest thing I consider, but I also consider flattering cut. Emotional attachment is also a factor, but that varies. Some items I am very attached to but others not really. Thanks for commenting.
My sons name is Clay and I have a nephew named Colt! 🤭 All 4 of our boys so handsome!

I am currently recovering from surgery and stumbled across your channel. I am so happy that I did! I have been binge-watching every video from the start of your journey and couldn't be more proud of you. I myself am somewhere between a minimalist and just a couple collections. My mom liked to save everything as far as knick knacks and fabric.... Well the list is just too long. When she passed away unexpectedly and we were tasked with cleaning out her home I vowed that I would never leave such a chore for our children. I can't do any heavy lifting for another 3 weeks. But you have encouraged me to clear out a hallway closet that has literally been a catch-all. There are only three shelves in it but the memories that are piled are deep. One shelf at a time. Thank you. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, your vulnerability, your wit, your pups and your soothing voice. You are truly a beautiful soul. 💕

Welcome to your forever home, Colt! We all know Mira is going to take such good care of you. The shoe sort went so quickly, wow and well done; it is funny how some things get so big in our minds and then are in actuality straight forward to deal with. And then your working through the clothes, at all but also rethinking some decisions and allowing some items to just be let go of -- great work.
