Hey great videos man!! You saved my life from having to take my Vue in and spend thousands on it. Yeah it can be a pain but car parts and time are better learning experience than taking the easy way out. Appreciate it again thank you!!
I’m getting a judder through the wheel when turning stationary rough ride over road and a loose knock when hitting the brakes I’m thinking it is the control bushings worn. Had 2 subframe engine mounts done too mounts changed and suspension checked. Been a bit of a nightmare getting a mechanic to actually spend time diagnosing it so have had to do it myself 😂
Nice informative video about lower control arms. so i have infiniti 2016 qx60 with 85k miles, my dealer saying my lower control arms are bad and need to be replaced immediately and gave a quote of $2500. i really don’t have that much money to spend and not sure if its really that bad and need to be replaced, the only symptom that i see from your list of symptoms is i feel tightness on my wheel when i try to make turns and some unevenness that too in neighborhood. do you really think there is a problem with my control arms?
$2500!?!!? haha wow!!!! That's nuts! (Literally, there's 3 of them + 5 for the wheel 😆) What was the exact reasoning for your dealers diagnosis? Any good dealer will show you the problem first-hand, or at least, show you a video of the sloppy bushing/joint (Some places don't allow customers in the shop). I assume for a 2.5K quote, you were given that service
Hi Bro, my 2000 civic has a clunking noise whenever i pull away forward or reverse from a standstill or when i punch the gas pedal while coasting, theres a clunk and i feel it come through the floor, any ideas Bro?
@@TutorialGenius The engine seems ok, I've replaced the 2 bottom motor mounts and the rear motor mount, the upper engine mounts appear to be intact so it's a mystery. Could the transmission make a clunk and and vibration too or is it likely something else? It's a manual transmission.
If the motor mounts are ok, then it'll probably be a U-joint or CV joint of some sort. I have a videos on replacing pretty much all components containing those things on this car. If I usually can't figure something out, I've tried a small camera under the car a few times, but usually I can get a friend to put their ear near the problem while I do some accelerations. You probably want a diagnosis without throwing parts at it. good luck! @@michaelpaterson8086

It could be a number of things! How does the engine look when you do that? Could be a motor mount also

How much it cost to replace?
Both Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement.
That depends on too many things! Mainly location
I've got clunk somewhere when I hit small bumps at low speeds. Jacked it up and pulled on the wheels but no play
What did you put the jack on when you jacked it up?
@@TutorialGenius I put the car on jack stands
@@jackbrady86 No, i mean, where were the mounting points?
@@TutorialGenius right on the mounting pinch. It's a 2016 Prius.

Is it likely to only make a noise when just starting to accelerate and then be fine until you stop and go again
Perhaps yes
