Nice to finally see a clutch fan on a 4.7L. I ordered the setup to add to my 07 WK and hoping the plastic fan fits. Same fan I used in my WJ and it works very well, even traveling through the desert. I don't see any issue with tapping the old fan clutch off with a chisel, you are replacing it anyway. Installing it with a chisel isn't necessary. the water pump shaft travels in one direction and doesn't allow the nut to back out. I've never tightened the nut after install, hand tighten and let the water pump tighten it back down. Thanks for the video, confirms I can actually fit this setup.

That hammering procedure will damage the pump shaft bearing, you better get the right tool my friend. Thanks for sharing.

I'll bet the new fan clutch bearing will wear out soon because of the fan being out of balance from you dropping it on the floor.

Do you have to disconnect the negative battery terminal first?

I don't see the reason to. By the time I get back I'd have the job done.

Any damage done to the new part by putting on that way is of no consequence to the operation or longevity of the fan clutch.
