Warning! Watch the WHOLE video. I only watched about changing the pump. He mentions in the end, the 8mm bleeder screw where the top radiator hose enters the engine. I didn’t bleed the air out and overheated instantly.
Bro could I do this without any torque ft lbs tool meaning just hand tightening it in a star configuration and u should’ve included how to fill it up w the pressure test or burping it?
the three long bolts are suppose to have sealant on them as they go into the water jacket, arent they ?. Looked like there was a sealant on them when i removed them, and arent they suppose to be torqued to a set figure ? thanks
Bleed the lines. He didn't include that but its NEEDED. Look up videos for bleeding our cooling system. Theres' an 8mm hex bolt attached to the top radiator hose right in front of you when u open the hood. You have to fill that with coolant, so take the screw off, start the Jeep, LEAVE the hex screw off, and just wait and watch the air bubbles rise up until they don't anymore. Then top of the fluid, u should be good to go!
Thanks bud I just slung my belt n luckily found it a mile from my house was worried it snapped then realized my water pump was wobbling when I put belt back on thankfully I have a second 3.7l to pull water pump off n now I know it'll only take 10 minutes to replace thanks to your video... knew about allen head bolt n filler too bc ive had to put 6 rads in this pos Mopar
Anyone thinking of buying a jeep with the 3.7l DONT! Just Empty Every Pocket And it's true! And that doesn't even include all the recalls for torque converter. Strut mounting bolts. Random antifreeze leaks for no reason. I can go on n on. Don't buy the 3.7l jeeps before 2008 or you will regret it. Only thing very good about these jeeps with the 3.7l is the awd/4wd quadratrac never spun a tire or slid on any shitty roads with my jgc! Even with bald tires. Only thing it's good for
and if you don't know much bout working on cars the Haynes manual is great n there's a parts catalog online which is even more Informative right down to bolt specs n locations it's like 900 pages n will help you even more than the Haynes manual will!
I'm a female n just put a motor n trans in one of these n when I needed the put the bolts back in the correct spots I used parts catalog to ensure I put right bolts in everywhere. I didn't remove motor n trans someone else did n just threw all the bolts in a container inside the car. Made putting shit back together a pain in the ass. Really invest in a parts catalog. If I find the link in my bookmarks I'll be sure to post it for everyone
Ok today is Sunday an I just changed both the water pump yesterday and today the thermostat an i let it run an the top hose is hot an the bottom one is is cold kinda of
Really should stress that if you dont fill the engine from the bleed valve you will blow a line at least. Might have to replace my radiator after a short test drive. 😪
Hey man if you see this what kind of water pump brand was that??? I'm replacing mine and I'm wondering if the rubber gasket comes like that on all of them or just specific ones?? By the way ur video really helped me out that was so easy to do... I'm so glad it wasn't an internal water pump those ones suck... I have a Hyundai Tucson and the water pump goes into the timing chain.. wha a nightmare it is to change...
I watched this to change my water pump today on the same year, motor Jeep. That poor Jeep didnt have shit worth of coolant in it.I did mine and it was a freaking waterfall worth of coolant that came out. This poor Jeep just pissed out nothing.
If only every UA-camr could make videos like this. No music, no intro, no talking about stuff not pertaining to the job.
You just saved me $325 bucks! Thank you sir 🤜🏾🤛🏻
I am doing the job tomorrow as a mobile guy and charging my customer $230 with a new belt included.
I know it’s been a year, but this video is helping me now. Thanks for sharing your knowledge my friend. It is greatly appreciated.

Same here
Let's see give a hats off to this guy for this comment as I likely would've done the same thing
Thank you for that response I didn't watch the whole video either.. I would have forgot to do that when I go to change mine... 👍💪
If your bleeder bolt is stuck as mine. You just need to fill it slow and wait for the air to come out. Then refil and wait again. It works too...
That was a very important step that’s not in the video 🤦🏽♂️

Sounds like you enjoy what you do! Only way to be when in business for yourself. Keep up the great work. Thanks for the video
😅😅. Bn bn bn n
Ui
Was actually able to fit an air gun in the engine compartment to take the bolts off and put them on. Saves a lot of time.

43 Lbs for 2010 and older
Hey quick question! Just did all these and now the thermostat won’t kick on. Any ideas? Radiator is ice cold. But hoses are hot
