Welcome to Jinjer. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well, but Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev is my favorite performance.

Jinjer is one of the best rabbit holes on UA-cam. Jinjer is a band from Ukraine. Tatiana is the female lead, she has one of best voice ranges in metal. The band puts out an array of quality progressive jazzy metal grove music. If you are not used to a lot of growling, I 1would recommend the Jinjer song “Bad Water” I would also recommend their live performance at Wacken 2019 with the song “Perennial”. Tatiana has the amazing ability the switch cleans and screams and growls and back in a nano second.

I saw Jinjer live for the second time about 3 months ago in San Antonio. A few months before the show, I received an email stating that Jinjer was offering a VIP Experience for $300 and would be limited to 15 people. I had never purchased a VIP for a concert, and probably would not have this time except for the 15 people limit and the promise of getting to watch their soundcheck followed by a Q&A with the band. On the afternoon of the show, the 15 of us gathered outside the venue. After roll call and a security check, we entered into the lobby area. We were each given both a VIP shirt and a poster (the poster, which was signed by the band later, is now framed and hanging by my desk). We were then led into the concert hall where Jinjer were finishing their soundcheck. I soon found out that we were not meant to watch a soundcheck, but instead were treated to or own 2 song private concert. The first song was one that they rarely play live and the second was a very well-known song that they were not playing on the current tour. That second song was Pisces. The 15 of us were on the rail just a few feet from the stage. Since I was in the middle of the group, Tatiana was right in front of me. Tatiana and the band put on a fabulous show for us. Getting to watch Tatiana sing Pisces so close and in such an intimate setting was very, very special.
I assumed that the Q&A would be with the band on stage and us on the floor. Instead, we were all invited onto the stage with the band. I ended up having a 15 to 20 minute conversation with Tatiana, part of which took place as I walked with her from the stage back to the lobby. In the lobby, the band signed autographs (for me, they signed the VIP poster and a few CDs that I brought with me) and also had a picture taken with each of us (mine is now framed and sitting on my desk). I could tell that meeting fans in that setting was outside of Tatiana's comfort zone but she was very gracious to everyone. All in all, the VIP Experience with Jinjer truly lived up to its name.

Elizabeth Zharhoff, the opera singer, is sponsoring a scientific study of the growling technique starting this March in Utah which will include Tatiana. Jinjer is considered by many to be serious musician's, and have been described as "aggressive jazz musicians. Most reactors follow up with Perennial live at Wacken. Jinjer is primarily a performing band and in the years prior to Covid played in excess of 150 shows a year.

@@DadBeingDad yeah, Elizabeth is charming and full of musical wisdom.
Probably you don't follow her channel for a long time. Otherwise you'd be notice this band at the channel.
Elizabeth's obsession of knowing how exactly extreme vocal works (which was the reason for starting the mentioned scientific study) was initiated by this particular song which you've just heard. Few years ago she reacted to this song just like you now and she could hardly comprehend how is it possible, considering her knowledge about vocal.
Since then Elizabeth learned a lot about it. She heard many other harsh vocalists. She became friend with Will Ramos who even taught her how to growl a bit. She started the research. But still Elizabeth points to this band and to Tatiana when she talks about the experience at her channel, which had an impact on her life.
Btw Elizabeth made an interview with Tatiana once. It was great long interview, one of the best with Tatiana. She is a shy, introverted, reserved person in common life (and totally opposite at the stage). Rare interviewer is able to make her feel comfortable, Elizabeth handled it in a best way.

Jinjer has a lot of depth. This is not a normal band, where there's one clear stand-out musician. It's four supremely capable people working together to make magic happen, live on stage in a punishing touring schedule. They set the bar very high for themselves. Their music is progressive, groovy, jazzy and sometimes brutally heavy. It's always satisfyingly complex and often carries a heartfelt message in the lyrics. They have so many great songs it's hard to suggest where to start.
If you want a track which showcases Tatiana's clean vocals (but builds up into some extreme vocals by the end), the Wallflower OMV is a good one. A beautifully produced video and a moving song. If you just want your socks blown off, Vortex is very satisfying. Their most recent track is The Green Serpent, an absolute banger.

Once you get past the shock of Tati, you’ll find that these musicians are top shelf. Try Teacher Teacher, so many styles in one tune, and they’re all masters. And I don’t even care for most metal.

"Pisces" is an outlier even for Jinjer. I think the band made a conscious decision, as an intellectual exercise, to invert the standard Metalcore trope of a harsh verse and clean chorus, as well as their own practice of starting fast and finishing slow. The result took everyone by surprise -- even the band were unprepared for the reaction.

Hey Dad can you checkout Band Maid ‘Hate?’ official live mv please? Band Maid is an all female Japanese rock band that dresses up as cafe maids and shreds!🍺😆 These ladies are definitely no joke and play harder than most of the guys. Can I also get a shoutout for introducing them to you? If you like rock/metal you’ll probably love the Maids. They also have a descent size following on UA-cam(over 40M views on reactions alone!)so why not check them out? 🍺🥴🤘🏻🕊️

As a general rule -- and certainly for Jinjer -- I would recommend familiarising yourself with the lyrics first. Look up any words and concepts to work out what the song might be about. For example, Jinjer's recent single "Kafka" is a centenary tribute to the German-speaking Czech writer Franz Kafka. Some familiarity with his works, themes and life will elucidate the lyric video (!) I have watched more than a dozen reactions, and only one was familiar with the works and able to appreciate the song. The rest were clueless.
