Excellent analysis. Not that many people get it. As far as lyrics and vocal ability goes Perennial live at Wacken Open Air and Pit of Consciousness live in Kyiv would be good ones for reactions. Having said that they have so many good songs it's hard to suggest just two. I usually just post the UA-cam playlist I listen to pretty regularly. Any of those including the two I just mentioned would be good ones to check out

I feel that the whole ending is about relationships, like fish swimming looking for hooks they grab onto just to see the sun beam (as they are being pulled out of the water) only to then get descaled and slaughtered by handsome butchers - kinda describes searching for a relationship and that first bit of euphoria before shit gets toxic

I would highly recommend doing more Jinjer breakdowns. Their lyrics are often incredibly deep (not to mention the music and vocals are insane). It gets even more wild when you find out that Tatiana (the lead vocal) generally writes her lyrics in Ukrainian first and they just happen to translate so well into English.
Suggestions would be Teacher, Teacher!, Vortex, Wallflower, etc. but almost any song of theirs will be good! On second thought, Teacher Teacher! would be amazing because the verses are delivered in an almost rap style.

Hi Knox, allow me to introduce you to Tatiana Shmayluk. She's from Ukraine, she goes by "Tati", she is one of the most gifted vocalists you'll ever see, and she enjoys long walks on the beach and melting reactors' brains. Yes that's her real voice and she is just as impressive live. If you want to verify that I would recommend their performance of Perennial live at Wacken. Absolutely stunning performance.
Also of note with Jinjer - the band is phenomenal. They get overlooked sometimes... I'm sure you can understand why but they are amazing musicians. Everything they play is airtight, they're always perfectly in sync with each other and Tati. One of my favorite bands around even though I'm not usually a big fan of super harsh metal vocals.

I'm pretty used to listening to harsh vocals and still deciphering what the lyrics are, but you did that on the first listen, in spades, and did even better than that. You *very* accurately heard what she said, and you fully comprehended the meaning of it, and connected the song together very beautifully (I literally didn't even realize all of the lyrical meanings, and I've listened to and sung the song multiple times). Now, maybe Vlad fixed that stuff with his formal education but either way I can see why they'd have problems. It's a fairly standard song structure so getting it to Jinjer standards of uniqueness was probably hard. Out of the few women who do harsh vocals, almost none of them are able to produce growls and screams that sound so much like what men produce. It's a testament to how hard she worked to perfect her sound. Typically women who do harsh vocals have a very distinctly different sounds.

Nowdays there are A LOT of women who do harsh vocals and there are some that you literally can't tell if is a man or not (like Cerebral Bore, to say a band somewhat "famous"), but imo everyone has a different scream, and it is ok. I spent years trying to become like Philip Labonte from ATR (I love his mids), but I'm better on tunnel growls and gutturals, I can do mids too but they are not as good, I stopped trying to be someone else and now I'm enjoing what I can do best

Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole. Bring your own tea and hats, because it's a mad party down here!
They are one of the best bands out there. I've been stunned by their versatility. Both Tatiana (the singer) and the rest of the band are incredible.
I don't remember if you've reacted to Spiritbox in the past, but the two bands share a lot of qualities. If you haven't heard of them, I highly recommend them as well. Although I suggest that you continue with Jinjer for a while yet. Tatiana is...something else. Watch her one-take live performance of "Judgement (& Punishment)" and you'll see what I mean.

Oh, and the magic of them. They are from Ukraine (the part under attack - See Home Back for the song about the 2014 Russian attacks). She writes all of the lyrics in Russian after the guys write the music. She then translates all of the lyrics to English.

Could not have nailed the meaning of the song closer to the head, though I cannot say I'm surprised in the least. Jinjer is a phenomenal band all around, and Tatiana is a monster of a vocalist! This kind of modern metal is always a treat, and I am always happy to see where the journey takes you! Wonderful reaction, as always! Another suggestion you might like is Thornhill, specifically their album The Dark Pool. Anything from that LP is amazing and should definitely be experienced all the way through, but a good reaction would definitely be Nurture, Red Summer, Lily & The Moon, Coven, or Where We Go When We Die.
    Stay jazzy!

Hey Knox, I love this song and props for being able to pick out the screamed lyrics the first time through. This song is close to Tatianna's heart (The lead vocalist.) Being a Pisces herself, and there was a nod to that as well in the earring she wore during this live session. Love the video's and keep up the hustle! If you want to hear more from this band, I suggest you check out Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019).

Amazed again. I have listened to reactions to this song/singer many many times. The shock value is always the shift of voice. YOU sir are the first that I ever heard connect the Pisces symbol to the song lyrics and what was it being conveyed there. Honestly I didn't know what half the word she was saying was and his only vaguely thought about trying to look up the words. You gave the whole thing a whole new level.
