- We visited Taipei, Taiwan right in the middle of their cherry blossom season (aka sakura)! So, we made a vlog about our trip to Yangmingshan National Park, which is known to have some of the best sakura viewing areas in Taipei! We also visit the calla lily festival and hike up to Xiaoyoukeng & Mount Qixing!

Yangmingshan is a super relaxing part of Taipei! Great place to be away from all the chaos in the city😄. You guys may also go more north to the Northern coast of Taiwan, it's super beautiful when the weather is good.

Cherry blossom is amazing to look at! Japan has a strong influence in Taiwan's sakura both from the Japanese colonizing history and the modern popular culture. A century ago the Japanese colonizer brought sakura trees from Japan to Taiwan. And nowadays the Japanese popular culture influence Taiwan very much also has the Taiwanese people love seeing cherry blossom.
Travel to Japan to see cheery blossom has been one of the most popular travel plan for Taiwanese people. And for those didn't travel, having it at home is a great treat. But it is not that common to have sakura tree in Taiwan due to the warmer climate. So the sakura trees are mostly in the mountains where the climate is cooler. It's hard to have the scale of cheery blossom seen in Japanese cities in Taiwan. 🌸🌸
台灣北部的櫻花是十分常見的，尤其是山櫻花，它是台灣原生種，與日治時期引進的屬不同物種，另外台灣本島原生的櫻花物種高達十種，每種開花都各有特色。

On occasion we also use Envato Elements too - I think this video has 1 or 2 songs from them. They have a wider variety of world music, but it’s not as good and their copyright system is annoying!!

I used to go to Yangmingshan often to see the night scene of Taipei City when I was a high school/college kid. That was about 30 years ago but I would think it's still the best place to see the night scene of TPE. A lot of good memories.
