That wouldn't surprise me at all - good actors love bouncing off of other good actors, and Maise Williams (like most of the young GoT actors) was a brilliant pick (Charles Dance's awesomeness was already long established). These scenes are arguably the best alterations to the books the show made. They're fantastically written, directed, acted, and make perfect sense for the characters.
Maisie is actually the best young actor on the show, it just pisses me off she's had so little to work with the last 2 seasons and perhaps it was always destined to be her character arc but they've turned her into a gurning psycotic killer.
For a girl without any formal training Maisie Williams is a fabulous little actress! She really shines in these scenes with Charles Dance who in comparison is very experienced. How wonderful for her. Maisie maybe young but she already holds her own, on screen.
When she says "anyone can be killed." he knows exactly who she's talking about, and yet he let's her live. He respects her, for all her youth. Perhaps he sees a younger version of himself.

I love how they've developed their relationship in the show. They don't have one in the books, but it allows us to see a different side to Tywin and I think he admire's Arya. He knows she's tough, intelligent, and brave. Seven hells, he loves her more than his own children.
I wish they dedicated a whole other series with these two. Their scenes are literally the best and I was saddened because I knew it was a matter of time before she escaped Harrenhall.

By the end of the show, seasons 5-8, and especially seasons 7-8, the show runs out of source material (Martin is currently still writing a song of ice and fire) and becomes a parody of itself. The quality of the writing and the plot falls off so hard it's difficult to fathom. I would still recommend watching seasons 1-4 though. Also House of the Dragon is a prequel and is excellent, it just came out this year. You can watch it before game of thrones, and many people are doing just this. House of the Dragon is more accessible (less characters, less complex) but still captures the magic of seasons 1-4 of GOT as it is based on a prequel novel Martine wrote called Fire and Blood. Sorry for long winded answer lol

I don't think Tywin suspected tried to kill him. I think he just suspected Arya was a supporter of Robb Stark and now started thinking differently of her It's possibly he probably would've put her to the sword or taken her as a prisoner on his march back to King's Landing but by then she had already escaped.
the dynamic between Charles Dance and Maisie is incredible. She easily commands his attention despite being in a room full of his advisors. Brilliant acting.
Jeez....imagine you're 13 year old Maisie Williams (or however old she was) and you have to act next to the great CHARLES DANCE and you still somehow manage to be on his level. God I love the first 5 seasons of this show.....so superb.

At this point, he deems her worthy, equal, in various ways and yet he sees her as a possible worthy threat. Also seems like he wishes she was a Lannister, possibly wishes she was his own daughter, to lead for him at some point. Excellent scene.
