- The Cooler Master MM720 is a lightweight (49 grams) right handed ergo mouse with premium specs. It was something I overlooked for a long time. Which was a mistake as I find I like it more than the Glorious Model D, Glorious Model D-, and Razer Viper Mini. Or really anything else in the same price bracket.
Some notable features include lightweight honeycomb shell with 49 gram weight, Ultraweave cable, gaming-grade hardware, classic ergonomic shape, customize via onboard controls or software (Cooler Master Masterplus+), 95% PTFE mouse feet, LK optical mouse switch, LK optical encoder, IP58 rating, stylish RGB, and PixArt PMW3389 sensor. It comes in Matte Black, Matte White, Glossy Black, and Glossy White. It takes influence from Spawn and Xornet shape.

What do you guys think about the shape and price of the mouse?
Great review. Nice job hitting all the details and then reviewing it all at the end!
I bought a MM720 on impulse and have been watching a few reviews on UA-cam, honestly yours is the best one so far! Especially appreciated you touching on the care of the mouse (and for dunking it in water for us so we don't have to!), since no other reviewer talked about it as far as I noticed. Also thanks for talking about mixing up the middle and ring finger for right clicking at times because that's what I'm currently going through! Very honest and thorough review, I can tell you took your time with the product and you supplemented your experience with in-depth research! Keep up the great work! Subbed!
Thanks for taking the time to review my review, lol. I really do appreciate it as that helps me know what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong.
How are you liking it so far? Other than mixing up the middle and ring finger?
@@ThomasMuehler I'm really loving it! At first I wasn't so sure because I have small hands and I thought I needed a narrow mouse not a wide one lol. But after using this for a few days I feel more confident in my aim because it's soooo light and just glides around the table. I also love that my ring and pinky fingers are not smooshed together anymore.
Although! I'm still mixing up the middle and ring fingers lol, how long did it take for you to adjust?
@@discorangutan It is definitely super light. You would think the width would be an issue. But somehow it isn't.
As for the adjustment. It didn't take me too long, less than a day. But I tend to acclimate to things fast on average though.
But it should be noted that I haven't been Maining this mouse on a regular basis. As I have others that I prefer.
thank you always for the real info
Always!
One of the first gaming mice I ever owned was a Xornet way back when, and the shape stuck with me despite being gone for a long time. When the MM720 got announced, I immediately got hyped, and bought two at launch. Loved them, but then went on the wireless mouse journey as well. It took ages, but there are two wireless mice that copy the Spawn shape, the Rexus Daxa Air Mini Wireless which uses a 3395 (which I use and own two of), and the Xenics Titan GE Air, which uses a 3370 (I would like to get one at some point, but they usually need to be imported from Korea). Still in love with this shape, but contrary to your comment, I actually fingertip this mouse :)
Interesting on the fingertip part! I'll have to check out the other ones you mentioned! Thanks for the great rundown.
nice review my guy
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for stopping by.
I just one of these when I saw it on sale for 25 bucks. so far I have only had it for a day so but it's great. Very comfortable, the shape is what threw me off originally but when I saw 25 bucks I decided to give it a shot.
The feet are smooth and the included grip tape is great! So far, it's relegated my G Pro wireless and Razer Viper my desk drawer and I have not looked back.
Just wish it was wireless.
That's awesome man. I'm glad you are enjoying it. Totally agree that a wireless version of this mouse would be bomb. Hopefully, we will get one someday.
@Dachpanter I appreciate the info! Very helpful.
I had a matte black since release and this week bought a matte white. The build quality and sturdiness are significantly better on the later. No squeeking or rattling. Not sure if they revised the later models but I'm loving it.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing!
I would imagine you are right that they probably have tweaked it a bit since launch. Just simply because less RMA's means more money in their pocket and would behoove them.
I've just ordered one in matt white for ~$25 (normally it's around $50 in my country), I strongly hope it will fit my hand, because it's white, has optical switches, one of the best sensors, and is lighter than a feather!
I would love to hear your thoughts on it once you get it in and try it out. I'm excited for you!
Love this mouse but not a huge fan of the switches always thought they had v low feedback to the point I wouldn’t even notice I was clicking my right click seems to hav less feedback than my left which is very annoying and puts me off my aim so I was thinking of modding it n replacing the switches for optical switches any recommendations?
Oh man that is frustrating. I’m sorry to hear that. These come with optical switches already. I don’t replace switches myself as I’ve never had to so I have almost no knowledge on that matter so can’t be of much help and don’t have any recommendations.
eh you said its a palm or claw grip mouse but ignores fingertip, eh.. dude thats the opposite of the truth.
This is a fingertip and clawgrip ONLY mouse. No palm at all, in fact, this mouse is one of the best fingertip specific shapes that exist.
Technically, from Cooler Master themselves they classify this mouse as a palm/claw grip mouse. Does fingertip work. Yes, but I'd argue that it is still more palm at that point than fingertip. As often those two grip styles are so close to each other that they get misclassified a lot. But I completely understand where you are coming from.
Nice mouse, scroll wheel rubber can get loose tho which can be annoying.
I haven't run into that. But I appreciate the heads up!
lightweight addicted since I got this mm720 😂😂
Dude, I feel you.
Bro is this mouse still working?
Im confuse how do i replace the switch if its broken
just pull em off, theyre hot swapable
So, you can either contact Cooler Master for an RMA. As that shouldn't happen. If you don't want to go through that then as Luis mentioned you can look for a video that shows how to tear it down (or figure it out yourself) after buying a new switch and replace it that way. Bearded Bob may be able to help.
@@TexugoFTW you can change the switch with razer optical i saw a mod and the man put razer optical switch and work amazing is really easy to change it
For anyone that has this mouse its amazing but make sure you take the sticker off the back. I know it has the model number on it but once that sticker starts to come off at the corners it rubs and scrapes on the mouse pad like crazy. I've had two and they both did this it feels like you got something stuck under the mouse scratching at the pad but its just the sticker. I would just take it off if its not in warranty anymore. Oh yeah it also collects a ton of hair around the sensor ring with the sticker too if you have pets lol so another reason to remove it. I just know when I took the sticker off my gaming experience was far better cause I never had to deal with that stuff anymore.
Interesting. I wouldn't have expected the sticker to be an issue. Thanks for sharing.
@@ThomasMuehler Yeah it confused me for a while as well, I would have jitter in the aim here and there thought it was just a dirty sensor with hair on it which I would check for and clean always. But once it really started scratching on the pad for a while I thought maybe its crumbs or something on the pad which I'd wipe down often then it do it again. It took a while to actually look carefully and see that it was for sure the sticker. Its also dope taking the sticker off its all honey comb on the bottom too so if anything ever got in there it will just fall out the bottom when you remove the sticker lol mine had some cat hair stuck to it haha. I have two cats and they both love to come in my room and lay on my keyboard or mouse pad so no surprise there. I just make sure I close my door always now so no more hair.
@@reaverq4563 That totally makes sense. I probably would have followed the same trail of thought. "Why are you being dumb mouse the sensor is clean!" Only to find out it was actually a sticker. Well done. And totally get that. I have a small dog, he likes to sleep on my desk. So hair can be a problem.
This mouse is amazing one of the best i try the shape is the best for claw and fingertip
Right?! I was very pleasantly surprised.
@@ThomasMuehler yes this mouse is now my main is amazing
I would love for them to make a wireless version. As the only negative I have for this mouse is that darn cord.
@@ThomasMuehler yes a new version will by amazing my mouse dont come with the grip it was new and the box seal but i dont know if the new ones come only with the extra feet only
@@snakesoldier10 I'm not sure either.
