- Опубліковано 10 лип 2024
- The Cooler Master MM720 is simply the most comfortable gaming mouse right now if you use a wider grip style and its an update of the original CM Storm Xornet and Spawn. After the MM710 and MM711 this is an interesting update to Cooler Master's ultralight gaming mouse lineup. But does it make the MM720 the best gaming mouse of 2020? Well, there's some things you've gotta know first in this review.

Got mine, made me realise i was moving a brick around till now. Lol
Where do you download the software to set your DPI?
@@matttran7251 search master plus
It weighs less than half of my old mouse
This is the EXACT same thought I had, Verbatim. Never thought about a ring finger rest before. Didn't even really think about it after ordering it. Once I put my hand on it, it's the FIRST thing I noticed. Such a difference.
@@abingeorge4984 Thank you so much for this. I gave up looking one day and forgot about it till I saw this. Much appreciated.
I love this shape so much, it is fantastic that they revived the design. I just wish they made a wireless version of this. That would be the endgame for me.
Omg a wireless MM720 would be endgame drool worthy.
-D.
No, batteries add weight. You can't have a lightweight wireless mouse. Also, wireless has delay. The string cord is best.
@@Gid-J A bit of weight I don't mind, especially in the back. When I click the right mouse, it tips forward a little bit for me. Anyway, options are always good to have, you can stick with this version, while those of us who prefer wireless can get that.
@@HardwareCanucks You're speaking gospel my brother
@@Gid-J Wireless has basically 0 delay and there are 60g wireless mice
Man, this review is coming in really clutch for me since my CM Storm Spawn mouse literally just died last week. I'm glad to see that they've still making mice that are the same shape.
Thanks for posting about this Mouse. I have been looking for a Xornet replacement for a long time.
Hardware Canucks should start selling "Good People" Merch like T-shirts or something. That would be epic! :)
For sure!
You know when your on your home screen on youtube and you're watching the preview of the video where it doesn't give audio, I could almost hear him say "Good People". And i suck at reading lips, that's how much impact it has.
Nice video can do a review of Logitech G102 GEN 2

@@dragonsinwr4th For real. This statement is true. It takes 3 weeks to create a habit. Imagine the impact and change it's had on long term listeners. XD.
Same here, tried cm spawn, it was the most comfortable for my hand. This the perfect shape
Rocket jump ninja is just wrong when he calls this a "not competitive" shape.
@@Foxcez There is a certain merit to the argument that smaller mice are easier to control, but really some people will find it harder to adjust than others. I'd at least initially perform better with one I find comfortable over one that I do not and have to learn to use better.
So something like this, or the Roccat Kone Aimo Remastered appeal, and could be what I buy next.
@@cybershocked smaller (narrow) mice only easier to control at the fingers, like a pencil. You lose control at the arm since its a less comfortable grip. Low sens players like Dimitri need the latter more than the former.
@@rdmz135 indeed, I've been using g203 and yea it's fun but too narrow for low sens and i can't perform consistently
there is already mouse with the same grip width. g600, and razer naga and mionix naos, this is just a smaller version of that. The other 3 are better for a full palm grip
Wide hands unite!
I just ordered one of these because I feel like I'm cramped for width on nearly every other mouse aside from the Ironclaw. Hearing you describe how comfortable this is and realizing that you and I share similar hand size, within a few mm in each measure, that is super reassuring. I'm tired of all the tiny little mice for babyhands and I hope this thing will suit me.
Thanks, just got one because of this review and my new favorite mouse helping me cope with a couple of injuries.
Can this drag click?
I'm still using the Xornet. Been using it for 5 years now. Still love it. The wheel is a little squeaky now but still works. I might get the MM720 to replace my Xornet. Thank you for the review
This is now my favorite mouse I’ve ever owned. It’s a fingerprint magnet but I love the shape for my big fat hands and my K/D improved immediately. Great review!
Exactly how I feel about my beta copy of this mouse. I love it! Top 3 too. I just haven’t had the time to use it enough to form a complete opinion with gaming but mouse descriptions are on point!
I would really love a mouse cam during your gaming mice reviews. A box in the corner during your flick shot in-game highlights to better picture grip, responsiveness and hand coordination of the mouse while gaming for real.
I just picked up an Intelli Mouse Pro when this thing was announced, but I kinda want this now. I really miss my old Xornet.
Second video I ever watched in the first hour of upload.
Great review! I already know that it isn't for me because of my hand size and grip but I can probably recommend these to some of my friends looking to try a new mouse.
Thank yo so much for the great review! Just picked this mouse up as an early Christmas present for myself and have fallen in love with it. Perfect fit for me just like you described. If I wasn't already a subscriber you would have a new one.
I used the original Xornet for 10 years going through 3 of them before reluctantly updating to the MM720. I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the original but I was wrong! It's better in every way and I hope they keep making it forever for us fingertip/claw grippers.
Fantastic review, really interesting and informative thanks
After 10 years of use, my CM Storm Xornet started double clicking constantly. Glad to see they are still supporting the form factor. Nothing beats it.
I love my original CM Storm Xornet, its still going after years, only the side pads have peeled off from overuse 😋. Its nice to see this has none. Its more suited to people with smaller hands.
I still keep coming back to this thing. It's almost perfect. No more twisting my fingers on the sides to get a grip.
Mine arrived today. And it's just crazy, like, really really crazy how good it is
I was really afraid of the size difference because it's "shorter" and it doesn't even matter! It's a glove that um grab and gun down everyone around you!
Perfection
I preorder matte black and really glad I did, they are already out of stock!
Great review and still relevant. I just purchased this mouse in glossy white. Im switching from a G502 Hero.
I haven't tried it yet,
but if I like the shape in my hand,
then this mouse looks absolutely flawless.
I prefer wired mice, and you can't even feel CoolerMaster's wires. The features on this thing for the price is borderline unbelievable.
Great review, hope u review aerox 3 anytime soon
Finally a review
My first gaming mouse was the spawn, seeing it with the modern design puts a smile on my face
you said xornet and my mouth dropped, such a good mouse! I will be ordering some of these soon as my old ones got worn to bits
did u get one
I'm in love with shapes like in this MM720. Old user of Qpad 5k, 8k and Dream Machines DM2 Comfy S.
That scroll wheel is dope af
i had that spawn, it was awesome, I still have the xornet and using it now, love it.
Still my personal fav mouse design. I have the Xornet I and II still.
Had the mm710, glorious model o, model d, Hati stardust, and the Asus pugio II, and the m2 buttons all would pinch my ring finger. I'm glad they went this route with the body protecting your finger from the button cover. Just mad at myself for waiting so long to order one.
I use the M42, GPX Superlight and MZ1. I added this to my collection, since I fell in love with the shape when I tried it and it was 22€ on Amazon (glossy black). Value is an understatement.
Do you play better with this or the M42?
@@Luis-wp3qt Hard to tell. Since the MM720 is lighter is seems to be better overall. As long as the shape suits you, I believe weight is more important. I find that to be extremely subjective however, there is no offical metric or so.
The main difference is the fingertip grip. The MM720 makes your ringfinger grasp the mouse from the top rather than from the side, which I find really nice for control.
Overall I think tracking is easier with the MM720 than with all others, but I don't think the difference is huge. Still the MM720 is comfortable, so I like it a bit more. The M42 is better if you want a "conventional" shape I guess. It's also formidable though and a little bit bigger if you find the MM720 too small. Apart from that the M42 has the better mousewheel and feels more high quality than the MM720.
@@richarde98 my hand is cramping from the M42 so I’m considering the wireless version of MM720. Do you think I’ll be more comfortable with the MM720’s shape?
@@Luis-wp3qt If it's cramping due to the size maybe not, since the MM720 is smaller, however maybe it's cramping because of the thin sides, then yes, since the MM720 is wider and allows for a more comfortable grip.
You can buy one and try it out. Just make sure you will be able to send it back if it doesn't work for you.
Bought this today, reminded me of the old QPAD 5K which I loved back in the days
And all I can say is OMG :)
Reminds me of the Coopermaster CM Spawn
Never had the Xornet but loved the spawn.
Just got mine! I was skeptical at first but I've completely fallen in love with this shape. Wireless version would be end game!!
Bro can this drag click?
@@anshul1342 what is drag click
that spawn mouse only lasted me 9 months then it started triple clicking on a single click and went back to my MX 518 from 2005. Don't get me wrong it was a good mouse but the grips always got filled up with gunk from using so much lotion during the snowy winters trying to prevent my hands from drying out. Very good mouse
Love this mouse.
Got an odd story when i got mm720. I bought a cooler master bundle accessories, their mp510 mousepad + mm711 online, was on sale. I ordered and made the purchased. So, when the items arrive at the doorstep, they gave me mp510 + mm720. I was like...what.. I didn't bother to reach them because i wanna save the hassle to pack and return so i decided to try the mm720 and no regrets. 9 months later (now),it is still my main mouse. Sure, the looks of it is odd but i can game for it like 5hours straight without hand fatigue. Comfortable feels, smooth & light as a feather .
Cons :
1. i wish the dpi button was on top.
2. The cable cord can sometimes be tangled when doing flickshot alot. Get a mouse bungee
I wish a company with decent build quality produced mice similar to the Mad Catz RAT. Love the hyper customisation.
Reminds me of my favourite mouse 10 years ago, the Logitech G9x Laser Gaming Mouse.
3 years later I still game with my mm720. I’ve actually broke the shell when the box it was in got crushed in a move and glued it back together. Probably will buy another one or two for backups considering they are like $20 now.
They're dirt cheap on Amazon. I just bought an open box white one "Like New" one Amazon Warehouse for 14.99 and a black matte new one for 25 with a 20% coupon. Spares for years!
Finally!!!!, a different shape mouse with top tier sensor that fits my hands
I originally had a CM Xornet based off of this design, but when it inevitably failed (broken scroll wheel axle), they discontinued it with no like models. The closest thing was the MM520, which is only moderately comparable.
Now that it's time to replace my MM520, I'm ecstatic to find out they've released this model. Form factor alone, I like the pinky indentation on the MM520, but everything else on the Xornet. It's something very minor though, and might feel slightly better with the remodel.
I'm fingertip grip btw. I love how far away from the palm it stays.
how big are your hands? MM520 is my main and I'm really not sure if I would like this too.
I have a Glorious Model D - which is lovely for my hand, but this new CM mouse looks *amazing*
I would assume I have an even bigger hand than yours but the model D feels a bit too big. Precision shots are hard to pull. I cant grip the mouse comfortably with my fingertips, and so it's hard to move the mouse within the palm of my hand without moving my arm or wrist. The biggest factor leading to its uncomfort is probably the size of its lower left corner... It extrudes way too far and the shape is a bit off :/
This mouse would have bought me had there been a third alternative button right behind the scroll wheel. Only 2 alt. buttons isnt enough anymore. Rainbow six siege has way too many key assignments
"All the curves in the right places." -Dimitri
That is what she said
@@amrelsherif3368 lmao

The original spawn also had a "perfect sensor" I hated the shape, but did own and try one as it was one of the few mice at the time without a bad sensor.
nice. i had the xornet and atm have the mm520. quality on mm520 was outstanding. way better feet than on my g pro
Also, I pray to god that they're working on a wireless version of this.....
Wow! Gorgeous!!
I hope CM will release a xl version.
I don't think my 21x12cm hand can... *handle* this. 😏 badumm tisss
When will we see this in Canada?! I NEED IT!
This mouse is criminally underrated. The shape is immaculate. I fingertip it with large hands for gaming. I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Pro that I use for non-gaming tasks.
Thanks for reviewing this mouse, i just got mine today. For me, its absolutely fantastic, super comfortable.
Hand size 20x10cm, fingertip.
Do you use it still in finger tip or you became palm grip with it I play with g203 finger grip combined claw grip the same grip that reviewer has would you say that this mouse is good upgrade made you better at fps
@@amrkotb8410 yep, still used it with fingertip style. it's really good upgrade for me and got a lot improvements at fps games(csgo & val). Really comfortable and It's super lightweight. I can recommend it
@@rizkya.r523 what mouse did you use before it
@@amrkotb8410 G304 ls, you need to lower your dpi or ingame sens when using mm 720 because of it weight.
Still rocking the MM711, do like this shape though and this is even lighter.
I like the pinky finger support. This design is will definitely reduce my finger strain.
I used the Spawn extensively for a few years and after such longer usage I started getting pain in my ring finger. If you use the mouse with a fingertip grip and you want to lift it, it's designed to be done with your thumb and pinky. However because of its significant width and the fact that the pinky is the weakest finger in your hand, you might find yourself often aiding the lift with your ring finger which is not how this mouse is intended to be handled and it can feel awkward. Over time my ring finger started to hurt. It should be noted though that my hands are a bit prone to RSI so you could have a completely different experience.
Also don't forget you only have to lift 49g with this Mouse. Even the weakest finger should be able to handle that
Wow at 49gm? i didn't expect it to be that light. Looking forward to upgrade from my Viper Mini
I liked my CM Hornet, until it died, when it did, i coudnt find any similar i am kinda happy they bringing this style back
Dear Dmitry, thanks for another great review and in-game footage! ;) Could you please share what's the width at the front ? (between the thumb and the ring finger?) Much appreciated!
I love perforated pc mice so my hands stays cool to the touch 😁😁😁 I love the red RGB color and that mouse has lovely curves I love that you took the time to measure your hand size and give us an exact measurement of your hand and put it on the screen I guess I know what gloves to buy you for the 🥶 😁 longer 4:33 just the tip 6:38
I need this one and the roccat burst pro. Fingertip heaven now.
I palm grip and I have huge hands, so I was going to get a model d. But then I got the Basilisk V2 for £30 on sale and I love it.
my favorate mouse really, i have black and i can wait may order from amazon which is white glossy.
I used to have one of these years ago. Was looking for one like it this week, but couldn't remember the name!
Imagine this shape with new hardware and wireless .. definitely gonna dominate the mouse market if prices right
Hey Dmitry I wanted to check out your gear in the description and found a small error in the "provided free of charge" part. It says "Review unit provided free of charge by ????. This video is sponsored by ????". Just a heads up :)
I love this thing. Hardware Canuck is the only guy championing this thing though. Obviously weird ergo shape so it won't be for everyone but still. It's a fantastic mouse.
Absolutely the same for me. I've always thought Zy's recommendations had a fundamental problem in that they are tilted towards hands with a 2:1 proportion. Perhaps it's just folks I know, but I know plenty of people whose hands don't match that proportion, and the further off one's hand is from that the worse the recommendations are. I ended up just coming up with my own criteria for fit that happen to work for me and my friends. I'm pumped that there's a lightweight version of the Spawn and am looking forward to getting one.
Actually width has been my biggest problem all these years, a thicker mouse that's not longer and higher looks cool, I'll have it in wireless config.
Hi Dmitry, have you got the new Steelseries Aerox 3 wireless? would love to watch your review on that. thanks!
This looks very friendly for people with baby-sized hands such as myself
Baby hand gang rise up. This ultra light mouse push has been awesome. Gonna be trying this soon once stitches are out of my hand.
They were originaly desighned for Claw type grip, but they work for peaple whit short fingers and wide palms as myself,..
@@marianmarkovic5881 or big hand with naturally fingertip grip
I have small hands and it's my preferred mouse
i think this short tail mouse might be the one for me at last, i find shorter mouse are better at controlling recoil on pubg, the shorter profile give a bit of room to do minute recoil control within the palm before going into full pull on the longer spray
You havent reviewed the Mountain Makalu 67 yet right? I would love to hear your thoughts on it sinde it has been my favourite mouse since its release
I'm really torn internally. I want to try it out, but I already bought the MM 710 only a year ago. On the other hand, I had really mushy mouse button issues, sometimes the button would not retract for a sec and you say the build quality is much better. Its hard :D
RJN has a MUCH smaller hand than you which is why he probably hates it. My hand size is similar to yours and I am most excited to try this thing out over anything else. Great vid as always, keep it up!
I had the older Xornet 2 and I agree this has been a very comfortable mouse to use in. However, in recent years, the Xornet along with my other games are constantly rejected by my Lenovo 720S. I wish there's a wireless for the Xornet Design
I loved the CM Storm Spawn, but I have up on them after three of them all developed clicking issues. Hope these new ones are more reliable.
Dw new mouse hardware is much better
@@hansennoah1 I decided to take the chance, since my current Deathadder Elite is glitching. Kinda excited!
Still use the original CM Spawn till this day. Most comfortable shape for me. Am sad the DPI buttons are gone on this one tho.
Welcome to another video in which Dmitri shows off his crisp aim
maan since i have a wide hand and used claw grip, i love my xornet... sad that it left click got issue.... glad they revive this one..
Has anyone tried drilling or laser cutting holes in their mouse
The grip tape is nice!
@5:15 maybe you can put a small line the height of each mouse.. it will be very useful to compare height more easily
very solid mice from cm. and a good choice for small mice lovers
This is a great cheap alternative for those considering a razer naga variant simply for grip and comfort.
I have the mm711. Kind of want to buy this one
First was sceptical to buy it due to its unique shape.
But holy cow! This is the best mouse I've ever had!
Tested a zowie s2 afterwards and it feels like moving a brick.
Haha I know right? The best FPS mouse I’ve used so far. So happy I have two ... in case one tanks.
-D.
However I did have to send back my first copy because of squeaking sounds from m1 on the housing. Other than that I most likely won't change this mouse ever again unless there is a wireless version of it 🤔😜
@Anonymous looked into it. Not my cup of tea. Looks like an S2
@Anonymous ty bro
I went from a glorious O- to this. My aim almost instantly adjust when i stopped thinking that I was trying to aim with an imaginary pencil and thought about pointing with a flat hand. I know it sounds weird but going from thin to widely grip you have to relearn your center.
I still use a spawn (the red one you showed). It works perfect as it did day 1.
Saw this thing for 25 euros and I said to myself "why not...." my god... It is amazing. You may think it's odd and trash first time you grab it, but once your hand addapts to it, it fits like a glove. I thought my endgame was g203/ gpro eggshape but....no. What a great Discovery
do you still like it?
@@monokendo sure, had to buy another one to have replacement hahahaa
now they need to make it wireless and it would be contender for a g502 ls replacement.
nope, the G502 has way more buttons. But yes, as a G502 user I can see why it can be so comfortable. Maybe it could be a budget G502 lol
It's hard to replace the g502 because it has a lot of buttons on the right places, and the scroll wheel is just awesome to use. Unfortunately the shape isn't the best, and it's heavy AF
Nahh maybe the Corsair glave
G502 is a heavy brick
@@motion2597 I know, but afaik there is no lighter mouse with a similar shape and button layout
trust me its good ive always wanted a mouse that supports ur pinky and thumb
it would be cool and useful if mouse manufacturers provided a 3d model of the shell for their mice so it could be printed at home. i buy basically everything online, so buying a mouse has still been a pretty bad experience for me since i can't feel the shape of the mouse until i actually order it.
3:15 that MM711 is beautiful, i've never seen one in that color... still cant compare to the Gwolves hati mini stardust though hehehe
That blue is exclusive to the retailer Micro Center, might still be available!
love my mm720
Love to see that Cooler Master is making mice that are not clones. Plan to pick it up this week. Wish Logitech would stop smelling their own farts and remake the G303.
This is a phenomenal mouse. However, if you are going to get it, maybe consider the matte version. On the smooth white one for me there seems to a be a build up of gunk that form after an hour-ish of use. Seems to be quite visible dead skin cells. This problem is easily solved with the black strips grip tape they give you. But if you value vanity, maybe the matte version is a consideration.
i use logitech G402, RMB slightly longer to fit middle finger and more buttons on thumb side, only lacks wider support for ring finger but still has that stickyness feel
Are you still using this from time to time? After a week of gaming, mine developed a squeak on M2. Replaced it for another, developed the squeak again after 3 days.
This this would work for fingertip grip? I feel like my fingers need to be more curled around the mouse instead of resting on the sides. Very curious to try this shape though.
