Dude I cannot give a bigger thumbs up for your video. I will be searching your other posts for other projects you hopefully have done. It was so helpful and clear as to what to do. Thank you so much! Better than any video I've looked at
Well thanks for tuning in Brody. Please remember to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel. Thanks
This is an amazing video! Thank you so much. I used this to fix a P0303 code. Ended up needing a fuel injector. So after watching this, I decided to pull the intake manifold. It’s my daughters car and I told her if it was a coil pack or bad plug, I’d fix it. It was the injector. After watching this I decided to dive in! I really left my comfort zone….beside the fuel injector, I replace all plugs, air cleaner, cabin filter and a new ESS battery. I did make a rookie mistake and broke the flange on the PCV valve trying to hook it back up. Lucky for me the PCV valve was in stock and only $40 at the dealer. Thanks for a great and detailed video!
Thats whats up, and thanks for watching my friend. Please remember to thumbs up the video, thanks
Yup those pcv always break lmao
Thanks for this video! I just got a used 2019 Pacifica with 60K on it. A shop i had inspected said i should replace the PCV valve soon, so i ordered one, but it looks different than the one in your other videos. Another shop said it would cost me $475 for a tune up and PCV valve change. This helps so much to see how to do it myself. Saves me a few hundred for more serious issues i anticipate will come down the road.
Thank you for the tune-up tips on the 3.6 engine. Appreciate that. Great video. Thumbs up
This video has proven useful a couple times, since I've had two ignition coils fail within a couple months of each other on our 2017 Pacifica. Luckily, they were both on the rear cylinders (1 & 5), but now I'm planning to preemptively replace the other four, since both times they failed while my wife was on her way to work and caused a lot of inconvenience and stressed her out. I wonder if this is a common failure?
Side note: Chrysler wanted $104 for a coil, but I got them from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $37 each. And even though they came in a "Standard" brand box, the actual coils are genuine Mopar parts, and are exactly the same in every detail as the OEM coils, including the Chrysler Pentastar and "Made in Brazil" (just like my wife! lol)
Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to post this! It's so hard to find videos like this that aren't for the older Pacifica crossover.
Thats whats up my friend. I appreciate you watching. I wouldnt exactly call it a common failure but it happens from time to time.
@@OnlineMechanicTips Maybe we just got unlucky, because last night a third pack failed. The first two were in the 70,000 mile range this one was around 90,000. This time it was #6, so I had to remove the intake manifold. Once again your video proved helpful. I saw this coming, so I already had four more coil packs and spark plugs on hand.
The entire job took me about 4 hours by myself as an amateur. The hardest part was finding one last bolt on the bottom right because it was hidden behind the two big electric plugs on the bottom right of the engine...kind of between the "V" the two plugs form.
And figuring out how to release and remove the various electric cables was a headache for me since I was not familiar with them and I was afraid of breaking them. But I got it done in the end and now all six of my packs have been replaced (and the spark plugs too of course).
I think it is a common failure on this vehicle. I also have the 2017 Pacifica and mine failed in that some order. #5 then #1 and now #3. All on the backside. But now I’m planning to remove the intake manifold and replace 2,4 and 6.
@@iROLL24 Yeah, from what I've seen online it's pretty common. My parents recently bought a 2017, so it's something I'm going to be watching for on their van.
Man! You are the real deal. I need a mechanic like you around my town.
Me too!
Man, this was so incredibly helpful for me. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge this way
Great video as always congrats on 10k brother much love.
Thanks for this video! Amazing content as usual!
Man you guys got to know your stuff when you tear into one of these for just the tune up hats off to you ain't nothing simple no more
lol, thanks for watching bud
Your the best! Thanks so much for saving people money! We need more people like you! Keep going! So happy right now!
Thank you
Great video! Said bolt sizes and gave tips and thing to be cautious on.
I am not looking forward to this but it will save me a lot of money doing it myself. Thank you very much for the video.
Great video. Now i dread doing my plugs. But will get all my parts and egr and gaskets and get it all dine at once. 136,000 miles. Argh. I miss my 1980s and older vehicles more and more
Thank you for the video. Local shop asking $1300 to do this. I'm going to attempt without manifold removal since that's risking gaskets and other issues. I'll update when I finished. Starting this because of the P018C code.
So you will replace only 3 plugs?
@@tonyc6331 I replaced ZERO plugs. Replacing the sensor and splicing in the new harness cleared the code.
Oh ok. They asking $1300? That's crazy!
Damn bro save me a lot of money..had a coil pack go bad amon cylinder 6 and thanks to you I didn't end up spending crazy money for it 👍👍✊️
Wow thank you for the video! There are very few videos on the Pacifica. Will be tackling this tomorrow!
Good luck bud. Thanks for watching. Please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
@@OnlineMechanicTips do you have the part number for the manifold gaskets (the small rectangular ones) that are visible once you remove the plenum?
@@brianw.520 Yes, I can get it to you tomorro when I get to work. Dont forget to sub the channel for me bud
@@OnlineMechanicTips yes sir just did. Thank you for the videos! Helps me keep momma on the road! Also in lieu of your first video, the van jerks when accelerating or downshifting toward a stop, no check engine light though. Could this also be from that fuel rail pressure sensor? Do you have the part number for that one?
@@brianw.520 Im at work now, so let me check..Also keep in mind, there are engine and transmission flash updates on these module for improvements.
Hi thank you for making these great videos & sharing your knowledge. Got a problem 2019 pacifica added dirty gas stalled wont start but with starting fluid
Good video, very helpful
Thanks for watching my friend. If you own a Pacifica, please concider subscribing. I have more videos coming on this topic, thanks
Great video - thanks
Thanks for watching Ben. please thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Thank you for a very well informed video!
Thanks for tuning in
@@OnlineMechanicTipsgreat video but trying to find fuel hose on same motor. Please help
Thanks for all your help so far please look at the pictures I just got this plan them off and I see all of this oil that concerns me I guess that’s the EGR? Also just my two cents removing the airbox completely in the battery sure makes his job a lot easier than navigate. Now let me see if I can figure out how to attach these pictures.
65 min ad watched. Jt's Chrysler training center 👍
whoaaa, my man
Great video! wow, what a pain in the ass just to change spark plugs. But nice to know how to do it.
Yes, I agree, it can be a pain. Thanks for watching bud. Please thumbs up the video and consider subscribing to the channel. More Pacifica vids coming. Thanks
Were you able to remove the plugs and coils from 1 3 and 5 without removing the long tube (purge?) that you have your hand around at 6:35 ?
Great video! I was looking to see what the torque value is for the plenum bolts. I didn't hear you mention it. If you got it please let me know. Great video man keep them coming!

Fantastic!!! Thanks .
Helluva video sir. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 #GreatWork
I know you suggested Dielectric grease on the coil pack, but would you also suggest putting anti-seize on the threads of the new spark plugs?
I've never done that so I have no opinion on that. Sorry
Thanks!
Why thank you my friend. Much appreciated.
JT I'm having a serious issue with my oil filter. I go to screw the cap back on and it crushes the filter.
Awesome video! Thanks for this. Do you have a video on how to replace the serpentine belt on a 2017? Thanks
Hello my friend. Im sorry I have not done one yet on the newer van. Thanks for watching.
Hey bud , thanks for this video! I have 2017 Pacifica and showing code P000D (Bank 2 Camshaft 2 Position Slow Response) I think VVT solenoid needs to be replaced. Do you know which one that could be? I think bank 2 is in the front right? But I think there is 2 of them on bank 2 (not sure) I wanna do it with my spark plugs because I think manifold neds to come out. I want to try just clean it , hope it will work ! Thanks
Whats that on your socket wrech i need one of those
how did you undo clip for sensor
Bruh! Great video… But seriously, DIY this from how you made it look… Night & Day! Stubborn plastic parts that you have to basically break to get the hoses off and small details like that you didn’t mention made it way more complicated to even get to the 2, 4, & 6! Overall… Much appreciated. And request for the next videos… PLEASE mention how to better handle the stubborn parts that can case major hang ups to getting to the actual job, and other pro tips the DIY UA-camr may need to know. Thanks!
Are you using a basic Milwaukee 3/8" ratchet with a universal swivel adapter or is it a 1/4"? I have an extended 3/8" ratchet, but it's too big for this job. Should I go basic 3/8 or 1/4? New job, new tool. Those are the rules.
Extremely informative video, you got a like and subscribe from me for sure! Is the process similar for upstream o2 sensor replacement (left bank 2) or is it different?
Hello my friend, thanks for jumping on board. As for the O2 sensor on bank 2, its fairly simply once you gain access to it. I have yet to replace one on these new Minivans but it cant be that difficult.
@@OnlineMechanicTips no problem, thank you. I’m replacing all plugs anyway so I’m confident I’ll get to it anyway. I was curious because that fuel pressure sensor (right, passenger) I was able to replace in the past with no disassembly.
I am waiting to see an AC Compressor removal on the 3rd gen Pacifica. I heard it was about 4 hours labor? Thank you again
lol, I saw a fellow tech doing one the other day. I meant to go over and ask him about it and as to why he was replacing it..missed it tho
I just did this last night but didn’t totally remove plenum I just lifted it and did plugs. I saw u did intake gaskets is that required or just suggested. I got it all done and car ran fine hope I didn’t create another issue.
Just suggested, you should be fine bud. Thanks fir watching. Please remember to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel. Thanks
What is the bolt pattern for the upper intake?
Newbee question.. trying to do this for first time..are the cylinders marked with numbers? I see you mentioned that cylinders 1,3,5 are the one that are exposed.
No they not numbered as for as number marks on them. But yes, 1 3 and 5 at the rear and 2 4 and 6 under the plenium.
Just found this video. Great content! I've got two questions 1) do you twerk the manifold plenum? The Chilton manual provides values but I wasn't sure if anybody actually follows those. 2) i think i messed up the clips on 2 of my coil plugs. They connect and the car runs fine, but the pull off without locking into place. Is that a big problem? Thanks again!!
Are you getting misfire on those cylinders because of it? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
@@OnlineMechanicTips sorry I just read my comment. I meant to say torque not twerk. Do you torque the screws for the intake plenum to a specific value?
I was getting a misfire on cylinder 1, it turned out to be a bad coil pack. The car has almost 85,000 mi so I went ahead and did all six
I have a 2020 chrysler pacifica
Great video, I’m nearing 100k on my caravan. What would you recommend replacing besides spark plugs?
Hello my friend, you mention Caravan, did you mean Pacifica? or do you actually have a Caravan? Also please be sure and subscribe to the channel and give the video a thumbs up, thanks
Online Mechanic Tips 14 caravan.
Tengo problema en mi pacifica 2017 código P0306 ?
Thanks for the video. Can you tell me what the order of the cylinders are? I have a misfire on cylinder 6. Is that at the front or rear of the engine? I'm hoping front for easier access. Thanks
Hey my friend, this engine in this Pacifica is side ways so cyl #6 on bank 2 which is the front head closest to the radiator. 6 will be on the end near the battery
@@OnlineMechanicTips thank you for your help. Where is your shop located?
@@dtran11 We in the Atlanta Ga area in Snellville bud.
On a 2017 Pacifica what are the part numbers for what you used on this Pacifica
Hey bud, which parts are you referring to? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
Yes I'm subscribed to the channel. I was asking about the parts you used as I'm 87000+ and looking to do the same on 2017 Pacifica engine. Plus I'm trying to figure out a vibration coming from the front end at acceleration speeds. I'm thinking Rear Engine and or Torque Strut Mount.
Replaced New tires, brakes, rotors and stabilizer links. Just replaced the vapor canister on the engine as it coded that issue
@@OnlineMechanicTipscoil pack
Can tell me which cylinder half is 1 3 5? Front or rear
If you talking about this Gen 3 3.6 Pentastar its in the rear. Cyl 1, 3, and 5
All just to do the plugs, gotta love mopar!
Did the sensor fix the fuel pressure low voltage p018c code?
Yes but this repair has been updated. It has been redesign, I have to edit the new video..Are you subscribed? If not please do
Online Mechanic Tips...yes i subscribed I appreciate the tips...I have the same code with 36k Looks like I’m gonna try and replace sensor with out removing intake...when you said redesigned what do you mean?
the sensor has been redesign and made better. But you will need to splice in a new connector..I'm about to upload a video about it soon. And yes, you do not have to remove plenium to do it
@@OnlineMechanicTips link to the new video? What kind of splice needs to be done? Any additional parts/tools needed? Thank you!!!
@@OnlineMechanicTips any idea when you will upload the new sensor vid. Mine just went and need to replace
Online mechanic tips, You mentioned you did an update to include the splicing on the new part, any ETA on when that will be uploaded? I’m hoping to do my repair today-ish.
Hey bud, I think I was talking about the pressure sensor, the way its wires has changed. You now have to splice in a new connector. I was intended to upload that footage but now have misplaced it. Are you doing a tune up or the pressure sensor? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
@@OnlineMechanicTips following, need to know how to do the splice. Sensor only.
Received the new part and splice kit for the fuel pressure sensor. Have no idea how to install. HELP Please!
@@mo2058130 did you ever figure it out?
You didnt need to depressurize the fuel system before removing the fuel rail tube?
Good question, I may did not appear to do it but yes, you should def do that. Thanks for watching my friend, please sub the channel for me, thanks.
Is it necessary to depreasurize the fuel system just to do the spark plugs alone?
The important things to remove the electric connector safely which is you didn't show anything of it so what's the reason of this video
You welcome to make a video showing what ever you want to show dude. No sense complaining about what I didnt show. If you know so much just make a video an show it.
I will tell you 5 out of 10 of these 3.6's need a new oil cooler, look for leaky coolant/oil under the valley as long as your down there pull off the lower intake and replace it, they are made of plastic when they should be aluminum👍
Yes, but everybody different my guy. I use only the oem Mopar coolers. IMO there better with the flow rate and proper specs. But to each there own.
@@OnlineMechanicTips I 100% agree as I have to replace the one in my '18 Pacifica and will do the Oem again, I don't quite trust aftermarket on this vital part for fitment also etc,,,
10:39 good dude
PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET MY CAR TO YOU FOR A TUNE UP
I’m stuck at about 5 minutes. My intake isn’t loose on the driver’s side at all. I’ve been at it for hours. 😔
I had the same problem! I'm guessing you got it figured out since it's been almost a year, but in case anybody else has the problem, here's what it was for me:
There was one last bolt on the bottom right that took me a long time to find because it was hidden behind the two big electric plugs on the bottom right of the engine...kind of between the "V" the two plugs form. It's the bottom bolt on that black bracket on the right side of the engine.
The bracket is kind of "S" shaped, and has a threaded stud at the top (with a nut), a bolt in the middle, and a bolt at the bottom. I had to remove the two bolts, but it was not necessary to remove the nut on the top stud. When I removed the intake, the bracket was still attached to it. Removing the battery(s) will give you better access to that side of the engine.
For this motor is Cylinder # 1 on the passenger side in the back?
Hey bud, cylinder #1 would be on bank 1 which is the rear cylinder head. Thanks for watching. Are you about to tune er up? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
@@OnlineMechanicTips I am currently get code P0301, Cylinder #1 misfire. 2018 Chrysler Pacifica V6. I am just wanting to make sure I am replacing the right plug and coil pack
I see why my mechanic is charging me $400 to do this. I can imagine how much the dealership is going to charge😂😂😂😂😂ain’t no way I’m doing this myself.
Yes, quite a bit of work
Thanks! good info. Did you mean low pressure (pressure wash) the engine? Steam would be way to aggressive! And flashing the modules, 99.99 % of us owners can't do that without knowledge, special interface equipment, and above all, the software, like a dealer would have. Sounds like you have connections or work for a dealer?? Using all Mopar parts too, just a hunch.. wink wink..
Wow look at you going to Chrysler for Mopar plugs you go boyeeee, most people run to AutoZone for Ngk or champion lol.
He did not show how to change spark plug 2. There is a black bracket in the way.
Once the intake off, you can remove all the spark plugs bud.
he explicitly said use a swivel so you don't have to remove the bracket
I know what you mean about the bracket being in the way, but I just did this last night and was able to work around it. I used a small wrench coming from below to break the bolt for the coil pack loose. Once it's broken loose, you can turn it by hand. Once the pack was off, the bracket posed no problem in accessing the spark plug.
